There has been so much hoopla lately about G.K. and preparing for his big debut in the show dog world that we forgot about these photos from our last visit to Maine!  We, Frenchies, wouldn’t want to deprive you of our adventures, so take a look and we hope you enjoy!

Francesca, with so many sweeping views of the ocean, it's little wonder why Martha loves it here in Mt. Desert Island and we're so fortunate to be able to travel here with her.

So tell us, Cheryl and Gretchen, what is it like taking care of Skylands, with all of its history? You always seem to be smiling, even when you're folding the laundry, which, by the way, looks very bright and white - just the way Martha like it!

One thing I don't understand is Martha's fascination with taxidermy. The word 'taxidermy' is derived from two ancient Greek words; taxis, meaning movement; and derma, meaning skin. Do you think these ducks still have their skin?

They don't make the greatest conversationalists. I think I'll go find Sharkey who is a little bit more lively!

Sharkey, I'm always so impressed when I see this larger-than-life bronze 1934 nude, reclining woman, called La Riviere, by French sculptor and painter Aristide Maillol! Being French, do you think he sculpted any French bulldogs?

It's such a nice day. Don't you think, Franny and G.K.? No one seems to be playing on the tennis court though. Let's play a quick game, girls versus boy!

Wait, girls! This is a hardcourt and we don't have white tennis shoes on! Do you think our paws will mark up the court? Maybe we shouldn't be playing out here...

Frenchies, isn't it nice of Martha to take us out into the town of Bar Harbour? The town's name comes from the visible sand and gravel bar in the harbor.

Bar Harbor is also home to the Great Harbor Maritime Museum. This building used to be a fire station but now displays a variety of historical items, like this giant anchor.

This town sure has a lot of history, girls! Did you know also that Bar Harbor was the birthplace of vice-president Nelson Rockefeller?

It's also a great place to socialize with the locals! We have no problems making friends wherever we go.

Franny, don't you love these deep sinks in the laundry room? Perfect for warming up and washing off the remnants of the beach.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It seems that the snow in the northeast has things slowed down a little. I hope GK’s show went good. Remember that today the ghost and goblins are out in force so everyone be careful. Wouldn’t want anyone to come up missing in the morning; especially me. I will be helping carve the pumpkin after while. I’ll post a picture on FaceBook tomorrow if I can. Stay warm all in this cool weather. Don’t worry about me, I like the cold. I’m having a blast chasing the squirrels.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello ladies,
You girls are the best are modeling. How do you stay put on all the things you pose on? I would fall in a heartbeat. That is why you are the professionals. Now everyone is supposed to tell what they are going to be for Halloween. I am going to be Sherlock Holmes. Have a bootiful Halloween.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., You are three of the luckiest doggies I've ever seen who get to go to such wonderful places with Martha! I love it when you share your photos with us! It almost feels like we are there with you-how fun that is! These are some of your best photos of being in Maine with Martha! How is your weather today? Sure hope all of that freezing snow goes away real soon. Bet it was a shock to get snow early. Can't wait to hear and see how G.K. did at that Dog Show! Sure hope everyone had a great weekend and hope today is great, also! Love, Dudley Do Right xoxoxo+

  • Good Morning F & S

I'm late posting today we didn't have power for a short while this morning. Lots of people in northern New Jersey are still without it from the storm on Saturday. It was HORRIBLE - snow, wind, ice and rain all day. I got in trouble because I refused to go out in those conditions and did a pee pee in the big dog bed in the family room. Mom had to take it all apart and wash it she was not happy with me even a little bit. She had her ski parka on and had to carry me out to do my business, I hate the snow :(

Well I don't have much time to chat today Dad needs the computer.

  • Happy Halloween Everyone! These photos from Maine are very beautiful as always. I always love seeing the three of you with MommyM just hanging out. I know she's very busy so it's great when the four of you get this time together.

I hope everyone got their Halloween craziness out of the way this weekend and tonight is actually very mellow. I saw more fools running around half naked Saturday in 40 degree weather in Chicago than I care to imagine. Oh well, enjoy Pumpkin Day!

  • trick or treat..I am a honey badger for Halloween..Zoe what is a little pee-pee among friends..it happens...poor souls with all the snow..hope everybody is okay...enjoy your treats..over and out..cora-belle
