Oh My Dog!

Posted by Pia

When I see how excited my dogs get at mealtime- over the same food they get each and every day- I wonder how it must feel to get so much joy out of such a simple thing time and time again. If only we humans could find reliable triggers to renders us as blissful and joyful as our canine counterparts!

Well- I think I may have found at least one thing I can be that excited about! It's perhaps the most creative and meaningful gift idea of all time and I am filled with joy each time I glance at these treasures!

These fingerprint rings are what led us to Brent and Jess- As unique those exchanging vows! We knew immediately that these were the rings for us- but Brent's and Jess's shared love for furry family members sealed the deal.

With many great options for metals, styles, etc. We sought guidance from the artists directly. Our ideas met with their enthusiasm and we decided on rings that had each other's fingerprints respectively.

The virtual meeting initiated a budding new friendship with these artists and spurred a flurry of jewelry making creativity! Our new friend's made our Minnow's nose into the above wearable masterpiece!

  • Good morning Dr. Pia,
That Brent and Jess are very talented. I don't know if I would want someone wearing my nose though. It looks so real, like they chopped it off of an animal. I do think the rings with the fingerprints and paw print items are very beautiful.
Today, my Maryland chow cousin Harley goes to the vet. So, I won't have to guard the refrigerator all day today. Gerry and Dick are trying to get her to lose weight and when I am here, that is my job, keep her away from the fridge. It is a tough job too. I lay in front of it and put my back feet on the door so she can't pull it open. Pretty soon, I fall asleep but I keep my back feet on the fridge the whole time. Yup, tough tough job, but I am up to the challenge. hehehehe
    Enjoy the day gang.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
And hello to you too Dr. Pia. I guess everyone is into ‘bling’ now days. Halloween is getting closer day by day. Mommy and Daddy are going to collect food for the hungry people who can’t afford to even feed their children. It’s called “Its Spooky to be Hungry.” I thought about dressing as a lion this year. I’d cut off all my hair but leave the long hairs around my neck. Daddy didn’t think that would be a good idea because it’s getting cooler now; oh yes bring it on. Anyway, they are shooting wild animals in Ohio and I wouldn’t want dress like a lion now; poor critters.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Morning Dr. Pia,
I really like the paw. We had fresh concrete at our house last week, but Papa said "no doggie prints here".
I am going to pass on this info to a few human friends that are romantic types. The finger print rings and heart are great.
    thanks, Dr P.

  • Hi Dr. Pia, You certainly do have extremely talented friends and the creations that they make are absolutely beautiful! Your photos are superb and I sure wish I had some of those creations of my five beautiful dogs that I had as far back as 1969. I recall everyone of them and have their photos right here by my computer-still love each one! Thanks so much for sharing this delightful blog post and I hope you continue to have great days! Jan
