Well, I'm happy to report that what seemed unbelievable back then, continues to be true today- and now, with multiple flavor choices for the most discriminating critter lover's palate! Rescue Chocolate, the genius brainchild of Sarah Gross, has only grown and continues to save many worthy souls in the process.

Since I like to keep you Daily Waggers in 'the know' on things critter-related, here is the inside scoop on the newest Rescue Chocolate flavor to be introduced to the public this Friday. This flavor was created to not only help pooches, but piggies too! I've always said that compassion breeds compassion, and this new flavor provides some yummy proof of my declaration!

HOGS AND KISSES

Go hog wild with the Rescue Chocolate Fakin’ Bacon bar….and prepare to introduce your taste buds to one of the year’s top gustatory sensations! Top gourmands around the world have discovered a counter-intuitive but absolutely scrumptious flavor combination: salty-smoky bacon plus sweet-deep-dark chocolate.

Rescue Chocolate’s long-awaited version of this marriage features a faux meat that is way better than the “real” thing, not only due to its superior taste but also because of its pig-friendly credentials! Our Fakin’ Bacon bar honors all the animals on the farm—the pigs, chickens, horses, cows, and more--who deserve to live out their lives in meadows and pastures, instead of winding up on someone’s dinner plate.

We say: Cheers to farm animal sanctuaries and rescuers and compassionate eaters everywhere!
For more info., and to order your own stash, contact: Rescue Chocolate. Be sure to try other popular flavors too, like, Peanut Butter Pitbull, Mission Feral Fig and others!

So pig out and help our fellow critters!

In kinship,
Dr. Pia Salk

P.S. Please note- These chocolates are just for humans. They are unsafe for critters to ingest as is all chocolate.

  • Where can we buy the candy? Sounds like they would be a good fund-raising project for groups.

  • The link to order is now up!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
And hello to you too Dr. Pia. I find it hare to imagine what it would be like living in a shelter without much love. I’ve been one of the lucky ones. I have always had someone who loved me very much and has taken care of me. I for one, cannot eat the candy, but my human friends can. So get your check book or CC out and order some candy. Oh, I should have said please. If you do, then I can take a nap and not worry about other animals not being loved.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Dr. Pia, Looking back at your earlier posting in 2010 sure was great! I hope all 9 of those beautiful babies were adopted and sure hope many, many more will get loving, caring families ASAP! The new candies should be a great hit and can help more of those adorable sheltered babies! Thanks so much for sharing! Hope you have a terrific week again! Hey Kirby, your comments were terrific! Maddox, sure hope your eye infection is cleared up! Have a great day all of you Daily Wag followers! Jan
