The Bone Appetit Seat

Posted by F&S

Since we blogged about our new homemade food we’ve been eating on Friday, we thought we’d continue with the culinary theme and show you photos of an amazing highchair for dogs.  It’s call the Bone Appetit Seat and it was a gift to Martha from Talin Lyman of Talin Tropics in Boca Raton, Florida.  It certainly is a conversation piece and it really generated a conversation between us, Frenchies.

Oh my, Sharkey! Will you take a look at this very fancy chair!

I wonder how a dog is supposed to get into such a chair?

Ah-ha! There are steps up the backside with paw prints painted on them!

And it seems like the bone-shaped chair back is a swing-in gate for easy entry.

The likeness is amazing, don't you think, Sharkey?

And I just love the painted dog bone border.

From up here, I can see everything in a whole new perspective.

Francesca, I don't think it's fair that you have such a fancy throne to sit on. Where does that leave me?

I suppose G.K. and I will have to eat at floor level, as usual.

Hey, wait! I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. And besides, now that I think of it, I feel lonely up here all by myself.

Why don't I join you down here and just sit up there from time to time? Feel free to use it, too!

  • Good Morning F & S

That is one fancy chair but who in the heck would put a dog in a highchair? Seems silly to me just give me my bowl on the floor.

Well the weekend turned out to be a bust, mom's little niece ended up in Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. She is my buddy when she comes over we play together the entire time. Hopefully we'll have some test results back today and she can come home. I'll have to give her some big Frenchie kisses :)

Please keep our little Nicole in your prayers......

  • Good morning girls,
You better be careful going up and down the steps of that chair. That would be funny to see GK in that chair. He would get stuck. Martha would have to call AAA to get him towed out. hehehehe
I hope little Nicole gets positive test results back today Zoe. Basil little buddy, you might be on a very restricted diet but look at it this way, at least you are here to eat that food. And we are all very happy that you sre here. When you eat it, just think of the stuff you really like and pretend that is what you are eating. OK, I know, that doesn't work. But I am just trying to pump you up with all positive thoughts.
Tomorrow I go back to my mom for a while again. This going back and forth between houses is alright. When I go home, my mom is so happy to see me. She loves on me and gives me special treats. Same thing happens when I go to Maryland. What a racket i have going on. Love it.
    Enjoy the day.

  • Hello Ladies,
That is one fancy chair. The doctor has me drinking my water on an elevated stand, but a highchair. Mom still has to hand feed me. I am getting a little tired of that, but the doctor says it is necessary for healing of my esophagus. The highchair is a perfect likeness to you Franny. The artist is a real pro at her craft. I am telling you Martha needs to do an animal cookbook. I heard that garlic is not good for us dogs. Everyone have a great Monday and stay cool.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Oh my, a high chair for dogs? Dogs usually like to be on the floor; now cats would really like that chair. My food is usually in a bowl which is raised about six inches above the floor. I don’ have to reach down as far for my food. Now when I get my ice cream, it’s usually placed on the floor. One spoon full goes a long way when you lick it like I do. Zoe, I will keep my paws together for Nicole.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • That is one amazing chair..... now how to repurpose it? Plant holder..... bring it to my house....... whatever

  • Great high chair, Franny! Could I stand at the bottom and sing "Baby Love"(The Supremes)to you? Hmm? Hubba Hubba, girlfriend! Bye!

  • What next after the fancy high chair a bib to keep food from spilling? It is very pretty though.

Saying prayers for your pal Nicole that she will be OK Zoe.
Basil, see a pet cookbook would be a great idea. Maddox keep quiet about your little scam, you don't want them to figure it out.

  • Absolutely darlning chair, very well painted...I love painting things like this....one of my painted chairs with the barn Kitty laying on it was the highest seller at a benefit auction...I have it posted on one of my blogs.

You Frenchie's certainly are loved by your fans and of course mommie Martha.
Kitty =^..^= is punishing me for being gone for several days, ignoring me, not letting me kiss her blah, blah, blah...oh such a cat!!!
Last night she tried bringing in a frog she caught, funny because she knows none of her catch is allowed in the house...what a naughty kitty.
    meuuw =^v^=

  • talin is very lovely ! folks seems to treat their pets like kings and queens. if it works for you. go for it. her doggie button loves it. i have cats so i wish she would create something for kitties.

  • Zoe,
I just about little Nicole. I am keeping my paws crossed and saying prayers clear up to God.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • What a clever idea! I have seen Talin's work on her website and she's amazing. She can paint in any style and create custom pieces for people that would become family heirlooms for years to come. Now the family dog can eat at the table without begging and see whats going on with their family. What a fun and functional idea. BTW, I recommend checking out her website at http://www.talintropic.com

  • I love the idea, what a great chair for our prized possessions.

  • Wow, what a beautiful chair. I think I prefer the floor though.
I went visiting this weekend and had a great time with our nephews dog, Lucky. She's a lot taller than me. She's a very gentle giant and we get along great. I tried her special Kangeroo food, it was o.k., not great.
Hang in there Basil buddy. It will all be good one of these days.
Maddox, I had a small taste of your life, so much petting & so much attention. I was ready for a nap on the car ride home. There I got more love.
Keeping my paws crossed for Nicole. Keep us up to date Zoe.
    Always, Rebel

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., OH, what a fun blog post this was! I love all of the photos, too! How thoughtful that Talin Lyman made you such a beautiful highchair, Franny! My Mom remembers seeing Talin and the chair on Martha's TV Show-terrific! Unfortunately I would not like to sit in that seat, because I'm afraid of anything out of the ordinary for us dogs. I love to eat out of the same bowls you have-they are great! My prayers are with sweet little Nicole, Zoe, sure hope she is better! Glad you are back home, Maddox! You sound much better, Basil, hang in there, buddy! Hope everyone has a great day today! Love Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Friends... Frannie, that's quite a chair! Maybe just a little over the top :) but very nice. You were very polite to move your bowl back to the floor and join Sharkey again ... Good for you! Leaving in 5 days for the lake with my Mom, Dad, Nana and Papa. Hope there's web availability up there. I can't bear the thought of not being able to read your daily adventures! Wish I could meet all of my fellow writers. You all sound so cute.. like me! Maybe Martha could do a little piece about all of us on her TV show!

  • ...hate to be a downer but we cattle-dogs think your chair is rather hideous!

  • Woof.

    Arf. Arg.

    Grrrrrr....

    [tail wags]

Translated that means "Drew helped Talin by wielding sandpaper on some chairs one evening a few months back."

    Oh, and Talin's a hottie ;)

  • I absolutely LOVE this highchair for the doggies! Beautiful artwork by a very talented artist and I can think of so many people who buy this for there pooch.

    What a great idea <3

  • Hello Girls..The highchair looks fancy and, regardless of the only portrait painted, you both can take turn to sit on it. I am wondering if my mom would be able to find me a look alike for labrador. Is little Nicole back home by now, Zoe?
