Hide and Seek

Posted by F&S

It was such a beautiful day at the farm yesterday and we, Frenchies, were outdoors enjoying all the splendor.  For amusement, we decided to start a game of hide and seek, but of course, one of us couldn’t follow the rules.

Sharkey, what should we do on such a fine day?

1 Sharkey, what should we do on such a fine day?

How about we play a fun game of hide and seek?

This grove of trees looks like a perfect place to play.

Franny, you hide and I'll count to ten!

I'll just duck under this white pine tree.

Sharkey will never find me here.

8 - 9 - 10! Ready or not, here I come!

Where can Franny be?

Hmmm....So far all I've found is this hickory nut.

Where did she go?

Perhaps this rock will give me a better vantage point.

But, alas! Still no sign of her...

Oh no! What if she disappeared?

I'm beginning to get a little worried.

Sharkey is taking too long in her search! My hiding spot must have been just too good.

There she is up on that rock.

I'll just sneak up and surprise her.

I found you, Sharkey!

That's no fair, Franny! I'm supposed to be finding you! I didn't even call ollie ollie income free! We should start over and follow the rules this time, why don't you!

  • Good Morning Girls

Hide and seek at the farm? Why aren't you with Martha in Skylands? I saw in her blog that she sent for the horses did you two get left home?

My favorite game is chase a Lab around the house. Mom says I run like a bat out of hell around the family room and the big guys can't catch me - lots of fun.

Basil good luck at the doctor and tell your mom to email us with an update.

  • You girls make me laugh. You are always up to something. Hey, I have an idea for the two of you and GK. How about making Martha a nice big birthday cake? I am sure Pierre would help you and when it is all done, you can all put your paw print on top of the cake. Maybe you could have the donkeys, horses, and sheep put their hoof prints on it to. That really would be a "signature" birthday cake. I bet Martha would really like that.
Happy Birthday Martha. Purple chow kisses to you.
    Love ya.

  • You two are so silly. Maybe when you are done playing Hide-N-Seek you two can engage in a game of "Queen of the Mountain."

I don't blame GK for staying indoors. 90+ degree temperatures is no place for a Chow Chow. Poor boy would probably melt away.

Good luck at the Doc today Basil Boy!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Well another hot day in store for us today. I just hope the AC doesn’t break down; it’s been running so much lately. I would be really good at hide and seek; love to play games. Martha’s birthday, humm. I wonder how old she is. Let’s see now, Columbus, Noah, dirt; she should fit in there some place. Hold on there ladies I was just kidding. You know how I like to play jokes. Please ladies don’t be angry with me; it was a joke.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hmm...I always thought it was "ollie, ollie oxen free" (not "ollie ollie income free"). What difference does it make, anyway (unless the cats play)? I'd rather pelt the cats with hickory nuts, quite frankly. Later!

  • Please excuse the anti-feline rhetoric of my dog, Malcolm Fawcett. Ever since his cat brother Desi fell on his head while he was asleep, he hasn't been the same! (He's actually a nice, sweet, well-behaved canine - most of the time). Thank you for your kind understanding of his fanatical feline phobia. Have a nice day!

  • Hello Ladies,
Hide and seek--what fun!!! You should plan a game in the fall when G.K. can be cool and join in. He would be hidden in the leaves with his orange coat. Zoe, I hope your parents didn't loose too much in the garden from the hail. When it hits here everything from the roof to tomato plants get destroyed. It was nice and cool last night so I gave Mom a break and slept in until 5:20. It has been 3:30-4. Just that pee business you know. Today is the day at my doctor's. Mom promised I don't have to stay, but I still get nervous. I will just keep saying,"I think I can, I think I can." Martha's birthday hey, what a bummer if she is away from her four legged kids and little Jude. I am sure she will have many celebrations though. Keep cool!!
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Girls, come to my house! I love to play hide and seek. Hey Frannie! You and I are like little shadows. I like to hide with Papa's black shoes in his closet or under a chair that has a skirt on it.
We say "come out, come out wherever you are"

Basi buddy, good luck at the doctors, thinking of you.
    Always the Rebel

  • It's ok Franny because Sharky was just worried about you.

    woos, Tessa

  • What fun you two have! I love seeing your commendatory.
Kitty plays hide and seek on a daily basis...her cat-ness comes out when she ignores me while I'm calling or searching for her. And only when I give up looking for her, here she comes running after me while watching me all the time...yep, at her terms....such a Gato!

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., It sure was fun to see you girls playing hide and seek! I love to play it with my kitty friends and my Mom. Didn't you go to Skylands with your Mom? Sounds like she is having a great birthday celebration up there and I would assume you would be there, too. I agree with your comment, Malcolm, you should say 'ollie, ollie oxen free'! Basil, sure am praying that your trip to the Vet will be successful today! Even crossed my paws for you! Sure hope everyone has a terrific day and that Martha has a fantastic birthday today! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • hide and seek..you frenchies are funny!
