Susie, Martha’s executive assistant at the farm in Bedford, is away on vacation. Poor Susie! She sure picked the wrong week to be on Long Island, because we heard that they received record amounts of rainfall! Oh well! Not much you can do about the weather. Anyway, we, Frenchies, decided to help out and go to her office to cover her post for a while.
1 Francesca! No time for napping! It's time to get to work! Susie's on vacation and someone has to fill in for her. Who is better suited than we, Frenchies, of superior intelligence?
2 Let's make sure everything's in order at her desk first.
3 Oh dear, look at this tangled phone cord! How does one tangle a phone cord, anyway? I have a real pet-peeve (ha-ha) about this kind of thing.
4 I'll just unplug the wire from the handset and allow it to uncoil.
5 There - That is so much better. Susie will certainly appreciate it. Oh, and a call is coming in!
6 Martha Stewart's residence, Sharkey speaking! Oh hello, Martha. Yes, everything is perfectly under control. Francesca and I are busy at work and there's very little to report. See you when you get home.
7 Now let me log in to her computer to see if any important emails have come in. Hmmm....what's the password?
8 Sharkey, let me whisper it in your ear so that no one will hear. Susie really loves us and she uses 'Frenchies Rule'. Don't you think that's so nice?
9 On second thought - the emails can wait. Is that the TV remote I see?
10 Let's turn on the TV for a bit.
11 I just love Animal Planet, don't you, Franny?
12 Sharkey, I see a mountain of work piled up over there and I think you should turn off Animal Planet and concentrate on what needs to be done! There seems to be a lot of paperwork in the filing basket.
13 And it's marked for filing under 'Animals'.
14 Look at these extensive files in the 'Animal' drawer! You can tell how important all of Martha's animals are to her! Each and every one of us has our very own file!
15 Wow, Franny! Your work ethic is very inspiring. I'll get cracking on those emails now. I want Susie to be so proud of us when she comes back from vacation next week!

Poor Susie, what a crapy week to be on vacation. RAIN RAIN RAIN - every day!! However, I guess being out of the office with the rain is better than working.
I was really scared again last night with all the thunder which means mom didn't sleep well. I was tucked under her neck all night I couldn't get close enough. Then I had a wee bit of gas and she kept pushing me away but I kept coming back. Come to think of it I didn't get much sleep either, glad I don't have to work today I can take a nice nap
I noticed on Martha's blog from her birthday weekend that the two of you weren't there for the celebration only G.K. - what's up with that? The big 70 and no Frenchies????
Enjoy your weekend my friends and be safe. I'm hoping the rain lets up so I can catch some rays on my lounge chair I'm losing my tan

You two ladies are so helpful. I go to work with Mimi everyday. I'm the official greeter but I do get my naps in. Hey Zoe, come to my house, we haven't had any thunder for a long time. You'd be able to get a good nights sleep & can work on your tan during the day.

Gee, I must have gotten up before Ms. Pia yesterday cause she didn't post anything when I checked in. I guess she slept in yesterday. I will have to go and see what she posted. You girls, what can't you do? You should definitely get more treats as a bonus.
Ahhh, poor Zoe. Don't be afraid. The thunder is loud but your mom will protect you. It won't hurt you as long as you don't go out and run around when it is thundering. That would not be good. It was a strange day yesterday. The sun was out, not a dark cloud in the sky but it thundered very loudly for over an hour.
Well, I hope all of you enjoy the weekend. I know I will. And please everyone, try to stay out of trouble, that means you too Baasil.

It's good that you two help Susie so much. I bet she will really appreciate it when she returns from vacation and gives lots of treats and puts in for a raise for you both. Zoe, don't be scared, you have your Mom, and for that gas thing, well, on my new meds I am just a stink butt, but you gotta love me. I have learned my lesson Maddox, as for being a brat and not eating. My little pukefest lost me the pound I had gained and another. Luckily I am doing good.Rebel, that is really nice you get to go to work with your Mom. What does she do? Does she have a store? My Mom works from home and I have a bed in her studio. Send some of that rain to Colorado, I am tired of the heat. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Your paws are smaller than mine are. I have problems on the keyboard with my big paws. I do know where the “backspace” and “delete” keys are; use them all the time. It’s good that you can help when someone is away on vacation. I’ll bet your help will be noticed. It’ll take a day just to find everything you have moved around. I don’t get to use the “remote” on the tv at all. Must be an adult thing around here. Have a good weekend all.

Hi Girl Friends &G.K., WOW! You two girls certainly do great work helping everyone who works there at Martha's farm! It must have been rainy there that day that you worked in Susie's office because during the summer you are usually outside. Susie sure has a nice office, doesn't she? Hi sweetie! I haven't been commenting on your blog lately-- NewMom has been very busy and not on the computer much-- but I wanted you to know that I read about all your adventures. I don't know where your organizing skills come from. Not me, that's for sure. I do build fantastic nests out of improbable items, like the magazine nest I made the other day, but NewMom says that's sort of the opposite of organizing.
