Feel the Grass, Smell the Flowers....

Posted by Pia

While many of us humans look to self help books and trips abroad to find inner peace, our fellow critters seem to cultivate peace naturally. Today's message is a simple one... and it's brought to you by the wisest among us.

As we enter the final days of summer, take a few tips from Fido and slow down. Take time to feel the grass under your feet... smell the flowers... breathe and be present.

I too need to take this to heart and to be more like my furry kids in this regard. Never underestimate the great wisdom under those big brown eyes... that slobbery grin... that soft furry exterior...

As a shrink, I must admit... much of my most grounding 'advice' comes from the 3 and 4 legged therapists who share my home. I'm grateful to them for reminding me to have balance.
