The French twist!

Posted by Francesca

Dear Daily Waggers,
We want to thank you all for reading and enjoying our blog.  Those who help us post it are taking a little rest this week and we decided to run a few from the past.  We’ll be back soon!

It's so much fun visiting Betsy down in the stables.  Betsy is the gal who takes such good care of Martha's horses and donkeys.  She also knows all the latest dance moves and we've been working on a little number we call the French Twist.  Does anyone else like to dance as much as we do?

  • I love this! Everyone's so exuberant :)

    Have a great weekend.

I have to say I can cut the rug pretty good myself. I however add this high pitch squeel and other strange noises to make my dance more exotic. Betsy seems pretty cool.

I have to tell you I got a good laugh yesterday. Mom had the Labs shaved down for the spring, boy do they look funny. I have to jump a bit higher now to bite them on the neck since there isn't any hair to grab onto.

Well have a good weekend. Mom plans on planting the lettuce this weekend and I get to help. I love working in the gardens, I find all kinds of stuff to play with.

    Love you guys - Zoe

  • I have a few moves of my own S & F :-)

While my figure doesn't do the French Twist, I can bust some mad disco moves. Perhaps if we ever meet I will show you how to do what I like to call the Hot Dog Diggity Dog. The extra length of my Dachshund figure allows for me to really stretch it!

  • Good Morning Francesca and Sharkey,

I really enjoy "The Daily Wag". Wishing you the best.

You two are so adorable, thank you for sharing.
    Have a great weekend.

  • My mom likes to dance with me too - I not quite sure what all the fuss is about. When a good song comes on the radio she grabs me by the front paws and we dance to it. Sometimes she dances with the parrot, too - I think she's a little loopy! Mom says there are contests for dog-dancing in the USA, but I think I'd rather keep working on being ready to do therapy dog work.

Love your blog! Moshe the Belgian Shepherd (P.S. My sister Indy the Black Lab/Border Collie says hi too.)

  • So cute! I love "The Daily Wag" and will look forward to hearing from Franny and Sharkey on Twitter! Thanks.

  • OMG, this is amazing!...I also dance every morning with my mommy, I jump at her moving feet when she shakes her bootie to Latin beats...I'm a feral "Kitty" and have learned to love and trust my home...I love your dancing pictures, Betsy looks like she has fun with you two pups...

  • I just wanted to say that this site is the cutest. I love sharing it with my toddler (he is very much into dogs and thinks Francesca and Sharkey are the best). :) Thanks for sharing all their exploits! :)

  • I love 2 jump on my Mom and she always turns it into dance moves, something about a waltz, personally I prefer the jump and bump the face move...... nice moves guys

  • Hey Francesca and Sharkey,

Love the new blog! I've made up a new dance for you Sharkey... I call it the Sha-tusi! Maybe we can get together sometime and try it out, but you might need a ladder because I'm a German Shorthaired pointer and I'm a bit taller then you ;)

    Love & Bones,
    Buckley

  • Next stop - Dancing With The Stars! You gals are so precious and your mommy is lucky to have you!

  • Mrrrow. You two look mrrrowy happy dancing with Betsy - isn't she a good person to be near?! You just KNOW she's gonna' reach down-n-petcha on your wittle head. I have a weally itchy chin - think she'd scratch it for me? Mrrrow. Like most folks' kids, I've been taught to not talk to strangers, but if Betsy wanted to pick me up, or even give me a kiss on my furry cheek, I wouldn't mind. She's soooo nice! Mommie says that she's a goodgood person. Prrrr. =^..^=

  • When I do my happy dance, they say I can twist like a croissant! But then, I'm a retriever.
    Keep on dancing,
    Comet

  • The F&S/Betsy Boogie

    Off we go,one-two-cha-cha-cha
    That's the French twist,oh-la-la
    Betsy has rhythm,really into jive
Martha's out back, playing with her hive.
F&S have four, but they only use two.
That's legs of course, forget the shoe.
Crank up the music,we're not a fussy bunch,
Once we've done,we're outa here for lunch.
Trish says "Next stop Dancing With The Stars!"
That's really reaching for the bars.
You seem like such a happy lot
Dream the dream and say,why not.

  • Hi Girl Friends, Wow, would I love to dance with you two and Betsy! That looks like as much fun as taking a walk with my mom. I do a special dance, too, when I get excited. It's called twist and run and kick out your back legs. I would love to teach you two how to do it if we could just get together. I'm dreaming of a Francesca and Sharkey meeting...oops, there goes by hind legs! Maybe some day...sigh. Love, Dudley Do Right

  • Hi Girls:

I am a seven year old Frenchie. My family (especially my mama) loves me more than anything in the world. We are hoping people don't see how cute you guys are and start buying Frenchies like us and then giving them up when they find out we are a little gassy and a little bit loud when we snore. Please investigate a dog breed before you buy on impulse. Martha is VERY lucky to have you guys, and you are VERY lucky to have her, that's for sure!!

    Deezil

  • Hi,

I'm so happy to read about your exploits. I'm also a Frenchie and often do the french twist. I have a sidekick named Chloe. She is a Rottie. I've convinced her she is smaller than I and, since I'm older, that she must obey me.

    I'm so bad.

    Keep groovin' -

    Maddie

  • Oh girls....if you ever need a male dance partner, let me know. I'm quite the dancer. we Frenchies have a way with cutting a rug, don't we??

    love to boogie,
    Pinot Noir

  • Hey Francesa and Sharkey,
I am a 29 LB male frenchie living in Los Angeles,
My name is Louis ( spelled the proper French way) and pronounced Louie-I am a handsome Tiger Brindle with a big white blaze on my chest and I am stopped on the streets for my rugged good looks and shiney coat. I read you comments every day and love all of your adventures. Your living the good life and having fun! About that skunk thing. After the tomato juice baths try something I bought at a hip dog store in L.A. called D.O.G. It's french perfume for dogs called "PEPPER & TANKY" -i's natural stuff and great smelling French Dog perfume. I wear "Big Dawg" scent. I'd recomment that Francesa would like "Peaches and Cream" and Sharkey would be rocking wearing "Vanilla Woof."
Sending you both some Amour from Hollywood!
    xoxo

  • OMG how cute!!!!!

  • Love your blog...Very cute.

  • I remember this...fun to see it again! keep dancing French pups! ;)

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., OH, how much fun this blog post was and how great that you chose to repost it for us! Martha's great helper, Betsy, sure is a fun person for you to be with, isn't she?! It certainly would be fun to dance with you girls, Betsy, G.K., Uncle Carlos, Martha, and all of our Daily Wag friends! What a fun party that would be! Hope everyone is doing well and have another great day!! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Martha, I am hoping you will help these Frenchies in Atlanta. Please read their story and contact Judy Price at Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption. They need someone like YOU! THANK YOU!

  • Hi! F&S&GK...and Heaven knows, I don't want to forget Betsy, the wonderful horse groom! :)

So, we're taking a little stroll back to the blog beginning of The Daily Wag? Sounds good to me. Looking back I see where my mom, who though I could not handle the computer by myself entered her name instead of mine! So for all the new readers,"Tinay" is really me! Shoeboy! And if you want to twist, er, twitter with me, I'm MrShoeboy on the bird line, er, Twitter.

And speaking of the Twist - you bunch of animals - they don't cal me Shoeboy for nothin'! I love to Twist just about as much as I love to shout! But right now, after seeing all those fancy French steps you're takin, I gotta hand it to you both...you got Soul in those little nail-tapping paws of yours.

Still, I love a gal with a good set of nostrils...as you remember, that was how we first met...I got a good sniff at the both of you, even though I mistook Sharkey for a girl! Oops! Well, in the words of the famed Nostrildamas; "Never forget the smell of a good dog." :)

So here's to all the good dogs out there! And just to be fair...hello to the dear kittys, too...those with us, and those departed...we shall always remember you with love.

Enjoy the day and thanks for the memories of yesterdogs blogs.
