New Carpeting at the Farm

Posted by F&S

We, Frenchies, noticed that the door was open to the tenant house and we wanted to see what was going on.  The floors in that house are highly polished and very slippery to walk on, so one must always be very careful.

Yikes, Here we are in the tenant house and I just hate walking on hardwood floors! I slip everywhere and I've been told that our nails sometimes scratch them up.

Well, look who it is! It's Fernando, carrying a roll of something.

Hmmm, could it be some kind of carpet padding?

Francesca, they keep bringing in rolls and tools.

Martha! We didn't know you were having carpeting installed in the tenant house. How exciting! A floor we can actually walk on!

Hello, sir - Is that the hardware for the stair rods?

I'll count the stairs so you'll know how many you need.

  • Good Morning F & S

I hate hardwood floors!! Mom replaced our spanish tile floor with hardwood and all we do is slip and slide. It looks nice but it's not dog friendly, Dad doesn't like it either.

Well thank God those fireworks are all over. T-Bone has been a nervous wreck, he stands there and shakes!!! I tried to tell him there is nothing to be afraid of they were far away but he is a big wuss.

Precious is going to be fine :) The second urine test and blood work showed elevated protein levels but nothing serious just need to keep an eye on it. She is taking medicine to help with the pee pee right now but mom is not keeping her on it since she hasn't had any accidents. Mom doesn't like to medicate unless it is absolutely necessary. She has to go back in a month for another blood and urine test so we are all happy here.

Mom got an email from Lynn (Basil's mom) he is holding his own. Lynn said she'll post a blog giving all the details but I think all our prayers helped our little friend.

  • Good day ladies,
Sharkey, hope you had help getting down! Franny, I really like picture #13. You look muy bueno senorita...I too am black/tan. My Mimi says it is tough to get a good photo of me (I don't always stand still for her).
Hey, where is everyone? Is there a tech problem with at the blog house?
Hope you all survived the fireworks this weekend. I sat in the chair with Papa a lot yesterday.
    Til later.....Rebel

  • hi girls, you have atowel on the floor! We have lots of towels on the floor for the little ones.Sharkey sure needs one at the top aof the stairs, just in case! Zoe have you checked the protein level in the food. Sometimes the pet food companys think we need way more protein than we realy do!It can do more damage than good.WE lost my sister that way. Mom said too much of a good thing... We are still praying for Basil your friend rocky

  • How funny....I understand the slippery polished floors and stairs. Sisal sure will give you a good grip...I walk barefooted a great deal and sisal doesn't feel so good to me...but hey, you can get up and down those treacherous stairs now, right!

Hope your Fourth of July was a good one! Kitty was not phased by any of the 3 days of loud fireworks at various places close to us...Personally I'm not fond of fireworks sound. I remember my first 4th of July in America, I was so frightened because I just came from a war torn country and that sound scared me, even to this...

  • Hello Ladies & all my blogger buddies,
This is the new and improved Basil recovering from my endoscopy on Friday. I was so mad at Mom leaving me there on Friday that I turned around in the cage and refused to drink anything. They hydrated me up though during the procedure and without food in my sore tummy, when I came home Friday night, I did my yoga stretches and rolled on my back. I felt great. Then everything wore off and I was a little sore and a lot tired from the past weeks, so I have been trying to rest as much as possible. The doctor feels that when the biopsy results come in this week that he is 99% sure there is no cancer. My stomach lining is really hard which could be Crohn's Disease, which my doctor says is manageable. He put me on a new protocol which is similar to that for Crohn's Disease, and I am in my 5th day of no "pukefest" as Dad calls it. My esophagus is raw and the opening to the intestine doesn't want to close, so the meds are helping. I can have 5 meatballs about a teaspoon in size 3 times a day (being hand fed) and the water is increasing in amounts and less frequent. That is what drives me nuts now---no water freedom. My dish for water is way elevated. Maddox, the doctor suggested trying this bottle thing that show dogs use in their cages. Dad got it and I tried it and no go for me. I may have a lot of special things that we have to do to get me better and keep me that way, but I am alright with that. Mom says St. Peter came knocking and we didn't answer. I know all my friends' prayers and help and a good doctor, saved my life. You all are the best. Rocky I am so glad your Mom is recovering well. Sonya, please feel free to e-mail Mom, as she is so thankful for your love and prayers. Zoe, Ann, Rebel, Delia, Kirby, Maddox and all the rest, thank you clear up to God.
The new carpet looks great--I hope you get down soon Sharkey.
    Love & licks,
    The new and improved Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’ll be the first one to tell you that hardwood floors are slick and hard to run on. Mommy and Daddy replaced the carpeting in the living room and dinning room with wood. Now I have to be careful; can’t run in the house anymore. I can still run up and down the steps and in the family room. I’m really glad this weekend is over. We have had thunderstorms the past two days and expect more today; that’s worse than fireworks. It’s been so hot here; almost 100 each day. I need a nap before lunch arrives. Yep, I’ve just had breakfast but I need my lunch already.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., The tenant house sure looks like a fun place to be in except for the slippery floors. I know exactly how you two feel about slippery floors. Luckily we have rugs in most of our house and I can run around and never slip and fall down. The only places I don't like to walk around are pet stores or Home Depot-those are too slippery. I either sit in a shopping cart or stay in our truck. I love these photos of you beautiful girls and beautiful Martha!!! Basil and Precious, we are so happy that you are both doing better as is everyone else!! Our Dear God IS taking great care of you! Thank you Dear God! Hope everyone has a super day today! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • mom just got back from her last chemo and she checked right away to see news from basil I am so happy all is going good for you basil! We've been praying! Your friend rocky

  • Oh that is great news Basil, "new and improved!" hope and pray for your full recovery...

Rocky, I also pray that all will be well with your mom Terri.

  • Franny & Sharkey you two are such great helpers supervising the new carpet installation but since it is a sisal carpet will you be able to run around the tenant house anymore?

Basil, I'm so glad that you are hanging tough. I was very worried about your procedure. I'm keeping the faith and prayers. Daily Wag Admin., please give Lynn my email or allow her to contact me so I can email her. Thanks.

Zoe, I'm glad to hear that Precious is doing better. I know how worried your Mom has been. Good to see Rocky back and hearing that his Mom Terri is almost done with chemo. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Independence Day.

  • Slippery floors..bad deal...what a good mom Martha is to install carpet..with my bad hips I can understand your concern over slipping..enjoy the new carpet!

  • Hi Raven dear. Well, NewDad is very surprised that your MarthaMom would cover up hardwood floors. We live in an old house, it's over 100 years old in people years, and the wood floors are very pretty. NewDad had them refinished, at least the ones that he couldn't do himself. It IS slippery sometimes, and my sister Demi in particular has a hard time walking on them, but she has Degenerative Myelopathy, so she goes slippy slidey even on carpets-- she wears little balloon things on her feet and that helps a lot. NewMom prefers cleaning up our... oopses... from the wood than she did when there was carpet.
