Hunting For Cats

Posted by F&S

Every evening, before Laura Acuna, the housekeeper, leaves for the day, she has to hunt down all of the cats and make sure they are inside for the night.  She sometimes asks us, Frenchies, to locate them, since they like to hide so much.  We’ve got to tell you, cats are so uncooperative!

Those Frenchies are looking for us again. They think they're so important acting as the keepers of the cats.

Well, I'm not giving in so easily. If they want me, they'll have to find me!

  • I think you girls would rather chase down squirrels than look for cats. Hope you got good news at the doctor Basil and give your mom kisses from me Rocky. I think kisses help people get better quicker. Goodness, it is supposed to be so hot today. I can't wait for fall. That is the weather I like best. It is nice and cool and I don't have to worry about getting overheated with this big heavy coat of mine. Have fun everyone.

  • Good Morning F & S

Why even bother looking for those furballs, what a perfect opportunity to have a few go missing. I know Martha wouldn't be happy but I'm sure it would put a big frenchie smile on your faces ;)

Thank you everyone for all the good wishes for my mom. I did my part and gave her lots of kisses and last night she finally got a good nights sleep. The services are all over and now she'll have more time to spend with us :)

I'm getting ready for another heatwave to arrive. My squirt bottle is filled with cold water but I asked mom to get me one of those with the fan attached. You see all the people in Disney with those things, I think they look silly but it would be nice on a hot day laying by the pool to get a spritz and fan don't you think?

Rocky glad to hear your mom is feeling better and Basil good luck at the Doctor today.

  • Good morning F & S
I think I saw a cat once. Mom says our neighbors had cats but the neighborhood coyote had lunch with them. I with Maddox, I love to chase those squirrels!
Basil, we're thinking of you today.
I'm going to work for a while today then home for a sunbath on the deck. Mom says she has more flowers to plant, I'll help her out with moral support.
    Woofs & yips,
    Rebel

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I hope today will be better than yesterday. I had a bath yesterday which ruins any day. In case you didn’t already know it, I don’t like getting wet. I like to find and chase cats too. If I were there I would help you two. But I do have to admit, chasing squirrels is more fun. They run up the nearest tree where cats head for the fence. I’m almost as fast as a cat; I’ll catch one of them sometime. Daddy says that I really don’t want to catch one. I wonder why he says that?
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies,
I'm with Zoe, let the furballs go and concentrate on squirrels. Kirby, Mom and Dad tell me the story of a past lab, Cinder, who did catch a squirrel's tail and they always knew him because he only had half a tail. If those furballs don't know a good thing like Martha's home, then so be it---good-bye. LOL! Doctor will call today with my lab results. Everyone could hardly wait to see me--snot nose and all--at the doc's yesterday. I have been on one medicine so long that the doctor said it used its usefulness, and now on to another, hoping it will help my snot. Hopefully I can breathe soon. I will be off until Monday as Mom and Dad are off to Estes Park celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary. Don't worry though, my people brother lives here and takes good care of me. In fact, he gives me lots more treats than Mom and I can stock up on the goodies. Especially since the doctor said I lost 2 lbs. Gotta get those muscles back. Have a good few days and I'll be back on Monday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • I hope extra treats were involved in your mission to find the Gatos. It looks like you two did more observing than anything else. I can understand why GK was probably basking inside the cool indoors, it's hot out there!

Basil I'm sending you good thoughts that your checkup goes well. I'm so happy that your Mommy and Daddy love you so much. Rocky, it's good to hear that your Mom is doing better. Zoe, see your kisses were the best medicine for your Mom.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., How interesting that Laura Acuna asks you two girls to help her find Martha's cats when we all know that you would rather be chasing squirrels and you seem to get bored with finding the cats. Being an unusual cat lover myself because I grew up with a cat as my mother until I was almost a year old and then got to live with my great Mom who had a part time cat, I have always loved cats and really protect them. We have a coyote in our area and it did kill a neighbor's cat so Mom won't ever let me go outside alone and I protect all cats that I see near us. I'm sure Laura found all of Martha's cats so she could feel comfortable when she went home. Sure hope all of you are very well, happy, safe, and comfortable wherever you are! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Those Furry Gato's are so independent...aren't they? that came from Kitty's lips, she told me to type that, and I can tell you that it is the truth...when I mommie delia call or whistle for Kitty, she just looks at me, and when SHE decides to come she then walks over slowly unless she is real hungry, then she'll make a sprint to the door.

    I love the photos #15-16

    =^..^=

  • Those sure are wiley kitties!

But then again I never have seen one!

    woos, Tessa

  • Hello Girls,

My mom loves all the photos, but I like photo #17 the best!

  • I've got the purrrrrfect solution...no need to round up cats; you will always know where they are. Plant a 'Kitty Crack Den.' Catnip! Also, add some cat friendly grasses to chew on.
At dinner time....just walk over to the 'Den of Iniquity' and observe all of the cats rolling around drunk. One by one, pick them up and bring them.
