GK Wants to be a Squirrel Chaser

Posted by F&S

G.K. decided that he wanted to come on board as an official squirrel chaser.  So we, Frenchies, enlisted Uncle Carlos to help with the training.  We all decided that a gentle trot alongside the Kawasaki would be a good starting point.

Way to go, G.K! It's important to keep your heart rate up!

You know, Carlos, G.K. just might have what it takes to become a bona fide squirrel hunter.

But Francesca, I naturally thought that the squirrel kingdom belonged to us!

What if G.K. were to begin hunting squirrels?

Cheer up, Sharkey. Our G.K. has miles and miles to go before he's up to speed for a good squirrel chase.

Francesca - Need I remind you that I come from a long line of champions? And I can be good at anything I set my mind to.

And, if I decide to, I will be fast enough to catch the elusive and cagey squirrels of Bedford?

Yes, G.K. Your mouth is certainly large enough to accommodate such a rodent.

  • Good Morning One And All. WELCOME BACK BASIL. How are you feeling? If you go back to the previous post
you will see that a lot of your friends, including me, were worried about you. You even got a special comment from Franny, Sharkey and GK about your recovery. How special is that dude? You rock!!!
Now son, you don't want the girls to worry about you getting all their squirrels do you? Why don't you have Uncle Carlos teach you to drive the Kawasaki so you can take the girls squirrel hunting. Let them have the squirrels and you can have Pierre prepare your meals. hehehehe

  • Good Morning Girls

What is up with G.K. getting a workout running next to the Kawasaki? G.K. tell me you are not a lazy Chow? I have to say that does not look like much fun, I'd rather be running through the fields chasing something.

Basil I'm so happy to hear you are home and feeling a little better. Make sure you eat and get lots of rest :)

Well my dad enjoyed his father's day doing what he does best - in the recliner watching golf. Mom and us dogs cooked him up a nice lobster dinner and everything was going great until T-Bone stole a roll off the table. I told him to wait until Dad left but no he did it right in front of him and boy was he mad. I did manage to get a little piece, I must say pretty good onion roll ;)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I sure would have liked to see those photos; they did not display again today for me. I had a good weekend until last night. I went outside for a little while. My tail started to itch from the heat outside and I nibbled at it. I got to wear the “lampshade” again last night. This morning I had to put it back on again. GK, I hope you don’t have “hot spots” and have to wear one of these things. I haven’t chased a squirrel in a week now. I hope I don’t forget how.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies, G.K., and all my blogger buddies,
I certainly have to say if it hadn't been for all you guys and the wonderful posts and yes, many special ones from F & S and G.K., I don't believe I would be here blogging to you today. Mom would read me everything you all wrote and it sure did keep me going. Boy or boy has it been a hard week though. My friends at VRCC (the specialty vet's) always take good care of me. Right now I am still getting 3 little meatballs of my food every 3 hours and 1/4 cup water every hour. My food has to be fed to me as I can't bend my head down when I eat or trouble starts. I thought it wasn't manly enough at first, but it beats going in getting your esophagus stretched all the time.I don't care if I do have to be hand fed forever,at least I am here able to blog...right!! I'll tell you though those berium tests are yucko. And I never knew Mom had it in her to ever drive at warp speed like she did when we went to emergency. Once again I need to thank all of you for your love, prayers and support. I know it saved me, but I also know that Mom couldn't have made it without you all too. She doesn't think I saw, but there were lots of tears. Keep the good vibes coming and I know I will recover even sooner.
Now, for this squirrel chasing. I agree with your Dad G.K. Maybe you should drive the girls. I think you might just tend to want to jump--is that why you are walking? My your farm looks very beautiful from Mama's blog. Also, Kirby, how are those "hot spots" doing? I had a friend that had them and he was on steroids for awhile. Do you have to be on that stuff? It is raining today, so a good day for just resting a boy's old body. Mom and I love you all clear up to God and thank you again for your love and support in getting us through this road bump in life.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • GK having Francesca and Sharkey as older sisters must pose an interesting challenge for you doesn't it? I see that you are squirrel training next to the Kawasaki while your sisters remain INSIDE it supervising you! Hmmm...

Basil and Mom Lynn, I am so happy and thankful that Basil is back home and doing better. I bet that was a wonderful Father's Day treat for your Dad Basil, just to have you back home again. Kirby Bear try to get some rest today and maybe those hot spots will leave you alone today.

  • Hey Everybody!
GK, I'm sure that Uncle Carlos is not going to work you too hard and girls, the farm is so big that I'm sure there are plenty of squirrels for each of you. We have lots at my house. We even have Oak tree seedlings to pull out of the yard. You'd all have a blast here chasing squirrels around the lake!
Basil, so glad to know you are home again. Hope those meatballs go down O.K. A sore throat is awful.
Kirby, my neighbor Errol is wearing a lampshade too. He has an ear infection and looked really sad yesterday. Hasta manana.......Rebel

  • LOL G.K. *!* a squirrel chaser? ha ha ha.... I think not, you seem to be too lackadaisical...but trotting along the Kawasaki is good exercise, I use to take the farm dogs for a Kawasaki run in the woods. Gee Carlos I would love to have your job! he he
F&S you are cheating riding in the cart...get out and show G.K. how it's done. ;)

Basil it sound like you are back on the road of feeling better....we are happy for you and your human family.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Thanks for another fun blog post-I love all of these terrific photos! G.K., you are a very interesting, handsome young fellow! I think all dogs like to chase squirrels and all other interesting creatures. We have lots of bushy areas in our yard and I love to run all around the bushes whenever I hear a noise in those bushes-sure fun! We love reading these blog posts and comments everyday and we love all of you out there! Dearest Basil, so glad that you are back home and able to comment today!! I know how you feel about your esophagus troubles because I have tracheal collapses occasionally and it scares the you know what out of my Mom. When I start breathing again after she holds me, she calms down and hugs me so much. Lynn, we understand! Kirby, sure hope those hot spots go away real soon! Sure hope everyone has a superb day today! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Way to get ready for those darn squirrels GK!

    woos, Tessa
