A Garden Tour Means Cookies!!! Or Not

Posted by F&S

Some of you commented that you couldn’t see the images from Monday’s blog about G.K. wanting to be a squirrel chaser.  Therefore, we made an executive decision to let it run a second day in hopes that it could be viewed by all.  Our apologies, but it seems that our blog server is having some issues.

We, Frenchies, were quite surprised to see a large group of people gathered on the terrace the other day and then we remembered hearing something about a garden tour.  We really like when groups come to the farm because it’s so much fun to socialize.  Plus, there are usually assorted cookies served at these events and you never know when a dog can get lucky.

Francesca, it looks like this is a garden tour group on the patio, do you know what that means?

Now, madame, make sure your camera is set for the correct exposure! We, professional pups demand only the best.

Err...excuse me, but I see that you're eating a cookie.

Did you know there are other varieties of cookies being served? You should save room for them and just leave that one right on the chair. Someone will clear it away.

Seriously, you can just leave it and try another!

Nice try, Sharkey, but this crowd didn't even drop a single crumb. As you know, those cookies are simply delicious! Better luck next time!

  • Yes you two are definitely Martha's Bedford Farms Ambassadors. GK is still a trainee at this point. GK, I see you're still on a lead. Do they worry that you might take off on your own expedition around the farm? Sharkey that was very slick of you trying to get the cookie but that guest wouldn't fall for your charms. Imagine that!
The last photo is the cutest. The put out look on both of your faces is too funny.

  • Aaawwww....poor sharkey better luck next time. Sparkle.

  • F & S - I'm very disappointed you couldn't charm a guest and get a cookie. Sharkey I would have jumped right on that womans lap and helped myself to a little taste, she could have finished the cookie I would have just taken a little bite. I do that with mom, I get right in her face, snort a little she turns her head and there you have it a shot at the cookie :)

I also enjoy taking sips out of peoples glass if left unattended. I can take a sip and not spill the glass, I'm very talented. I especially love Pino Grigio wine that is my all time FAV :) I stalk the pool area, wait for someone to leave their glass while they take a swim (plastic around the pool of course) and just have a few licks then back under the umbrella - ahhh life is good :)

My head is a little sore this morning thanks to mom. I was snuggled up around her neck while she was watching tv in bed last night and she started to doze off and dropped the remote control on my head - OUCH - did that hurt. She felt so bad, gave me lots of kisses then I just moved down to the bottom of the bed - staying clear of the remote.

Basil how are you feeling today?

  • Girls, I am sure if you offer some flowers to the garden tour guests, they will be so appreciative that they will give you all the cookies you want.
Gee, now we have several on the sick/injured list. Kirby with hot spots, Basil just getting out of the hospital and now little Zoe getting clonked on the head with a remote control device. I am not sick but I have something bad coming up cause it is bath time again. YUK.... I guess I shouldn't complain cause when I was being shown I got one at least 3 times a month. Since I am retired, I am not getting as many but in my opinion even one is one too many.
Well, I think I will do something that I love to do, take a nap.
Have a nice day and for all you sicko's, get better real fast.

  • Good Morning all!
Wow, Sharkey...what's with that lady? You were doing your best but why would a gal need to work sooo hard to get a nimble. Anywho, my style is like Frannies. I keep low to the floor and keep a sharp eye out for bits and pieces.
Hey Zoe! Pinot Grigio..we have some of that at my house but Mimi doesn't give me a chance to sneak a taste.
Zoe, I've been bonked by the remote, too. OUCH!
I am going to be on a sleep-away at the kennels until Monday, so I'll be out of touch for a few days.
Thinking of you each day Basil. Hope you're doing better.
    Til Tuesday!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Ah yes, cookies are good and good for you. Well at least that’s what I’ve been told. I help my Mommy get the mail from the box each day and get a cookie for helping. She is trying to find out how I know that the mail doesn’t come on some days. Do you think I should tell her I can hear the mail truck when it stops at our house? I think I will just let her think I’m mystical and just know these things. Another day over 100 again today??? And summer is just starting; what will it be in July?
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Sharkey, that lady was one tough cookie. May I suggest teaming with Franny and offering a distraction next time, then finding a way to knock the cookie out of the lady's hand? Once it's on the ground, it's yours! Yes! Bye!

  • Hello Ladies,
Boy oh boy do those cookies look good.I haven't had any real people food in a long time. The trouble is that Mama Martha's cookies are just so darn good that no one leaves a bite. I do especially love the last photo--the agony of defeat! Yesterday was a very restful day. I am increasing to 4 little dog food meatballs 4 times a day. But the water is still at 1/4 cup an hour. We tried increasing it--Mom calls it freedom water--and no luck. Monday it all came back up, so if I have to settle for things this way for awhile, then so be it. Rebel, I will miss you, but have a good time at the "spa." Maddox, I have to get a bath real soon also. I stink from everything as of late, Mom says. Remember today when you are all drinking your water--drink some for me--a lot. I am not getting cheated I know, but I just want to slurp the entire bowl down at one time--not just 1/4 cup. Keep cool all!!
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Thanks for another fantastic blog post! This one was very interesting about you girls trying to persuade the garden tour people to give you a taste of Martha's delicious cookies! I know how you feel, because I try very hard to persuade my Mom to share anything that she is eating! Sometimes I get a taste of her food and other times she gives me my Paul Newman treats-I love them all! I love the way you look when you are begging, but some people just don't get it-darn! Hey Zoe, sorry to hear that you got banged on the head. Hope you are feeling better today! Kirby and Basil, sure hope you are doing better today and I'll drink lots of water for you Basil! Hope everyone has a terrific day today! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • ... "Seriously - you should try another." Bwwahahaha!

    Oh Sharkey!

  • I think its just rude when the hoomans know we are there and don't even bother to drop a few crumbs or chunks or gee, the whole cookie! BOL

    woo, Tessa

  • Ahhh poor Sharkey, no cookie! I would have given you a bite of it...maybe the next time they have this event.
Love the photo of Francesca under the chair with you sitting in the seat...so cute!
