Being a mom doesn't mean you have to be the same species as your "kids!" So here's a huge "Happy Mother's Day" to those of you who are the loving mothers of fur children (or those with feathers, scales, etc). You deserve to be celebrated, applauded, wagged at, sat on, purred to and licked this Sunday!

And on your special day, know that the partially chewed favorite shoe, gooey fur ball, or lick on the face is offered with as much love and appreciation as any gift a human child might give you. In fact, if fur children could make you some personalized macaroni art or a Shrinky Dink in your likeness, I'm certain they would!
And speaking of children, they make great mothers to furry four-leggers as well. In fact, it is often for a companion animal that many kids experience their first maternal feelings. So be sure to recognize those around you this weekend, child and adult alike, who are the nurturing providers to our fellow creatures.
While some moms carry a bib or burp towel, others carry a leash and lint brush. Either way, I wish you all a happy day. Keep up the great work, Baby Mama, no matter what kind of baby you mama!
