Shedding Our Winter Coats
Posted by Francesca
Sharkey and I were outside the other day, when she suddenly realized that Sasa, the horse, was no longer wearing his warm winter coat. That caused her to go into a silly tirade about how we are no longer wearing our fashionable cold weather wardrobe and she was actually lamenting that fact! Honestly, Sharkey can be so silly sometimes!
1 Look, Francesca! Sasa isn't wearing his warm winter coat anymore.
2 Sharkey, neither are we!
3 Well, this happened awfully fast! One day it's freezing cold and the next, it's so very hot!
4 I rather like all of our fashionable coats.
5 Where will our sense of style be?
6 Silly, Sharkey! Our natural coats are very stylish! I sport a brindle coat and you wear that fawn one, oh so well! It's good to let your true colors shine.
7 Let's go and see if Sasa wants to eat a carrot.
8 Sasa! It's nice to see you wearing your natural coat again! It's a very handsome and shiny Friesian black.
9 And, I have something else wonderful to tell you!
10 Sasa! Don't blow me off! I have something to say!
11 Sharkey, what could be more important than me eating all this nice spring meadow mix?
12 What, Sharkey? Did I just hear something about a carrot? Why didn't you say that in the first place?
13 When it comes to donkeys and horses, Sharkey is the bold one. I like to dole out carrots right here, on this side of the fence. Here he comes.
14 Easy does it, Sasa! Let's be sure that you chomp only the carrot, leaving my little paws intact!
15 Now, that's what I call a gracious horse!
16 Thanks, ever so much, Frenchies! I really love carrots and this was very thoughtful of you! And thanks for noticing my well-groomed natural coat!

Hello Ladies,
Well, aren't you two the ladies of town and country. First it was chickies, then chipmunks, and now the horses. It certainly is good of you to spread yourselves around and be generous with the carrots. I will miss seeing your stylish ensembles for the summer, but who knows, maybe I will get to see a raincoat modeled every now and then. It is certainly beautiful for you both to share the photos of your home on a regular basis. Oh, Happy Late Birthday Baby Favor and Maddoxx.Have a great weekend all!!
Love & licks,
Basil

Good Morning Girls
Yes I think it's time to put away all the sweaters and coats, warm weather is finally here. I heard mom on the phone yesterday with the groomer the Labs go next Wednesday for their summer buzz cuts. I even heard her making an appointment for me
I don't need another bath I just got one last month - she's killing me with all these baths!!!! The Labs look so silly with their buzz cuts but mom said they shed too much plus they stay nice and cool for the summer.
Well I was not a happy camper this morning - mom was up at 4 am watching the wedding!! What I don't get is that dad is a Brit and he was snoring away. He's British for God's sake and doesn't care about the wedding? Mom said Queen Mom looked pretty good for being 85 and William and Kate both looked stunning.
Well enjoy your weekend everyone!!!

Hey Basil, Usually Zoe is the first one to comment on the posts. You beat her today. Maybe she slept in today or perhaps she is watching the royal wedding on tv. Sometimes I wish my coat was short like the girls but then I would look funny. I like my long coat. It drives everyone crazy though cause it grows so fast. That was very nice of you girls to make sure the horses have carrots. You two are so thoughtful. Happy Belated Birthday Baby Favor. Enjoy the weekend everyone. I know I will.

If you really miss wearing your stylish coat Sharkey you're more than welcome to come hang out in Chicago today. It's only 39 degrees out, Brrrrrr! I love the long distant shot of the farm. It really gives you the scale of how large it truly is and what a playground you, Franny and GK have to play on.
Sharkey you always amuse me getting up close and personal with the horses and donkeys unlike Franny and GK who play it safe behind the fence. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope all is well with regular blogger buddies like Gracyn Erwin, Nrs. Bosley Chow Chow, Malcom Fawcett, Rocky to name a few. Haven't you you all in a while.

Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Life on the farm really is good for you two. You have all of those animals you can play with or just feed them as Franny does. If I were on a farm, I would have lots of horses to play with too. Maybe even a donkey too. We did have a lot of really bad storms yesterday morning. I was up almost all night keeping Mommy company; or was it the other way around? Had a little wind with lots of rain; 2 and a half inches in just two hours. I just hope all those animals displaced by those bad storms find their owners. It’s the weekend; have fun all.
Catch you later, Kirby.

Hi Girl Friends &G.K., My, it must be really warm there at the farm. It's still cold and usually rainy here in the Puget Sound area so you would need your beautiful coats if you came here to visit me. I agree with you Franny, you girls have such beautiful natural coats and so does Sasa!!! It's finally supposed to be sunny and in the 60's here on May Day and I hope we can go for a two hour walk-that would be super! How thoughtful to give Sasa a delicious carrot-he sure liked it! Happy Birthday, Favor! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and stays well! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

Forget the winter coats, it's almost bikini time!
I just love Sasa's cute mouth open in the last frame!

I so agree about the winter coats. But here in Southern Oregon it is STILL winter! Yes, we had SNOW last night! Can you believe it??? Well when Spring gets here I will certainly let you know.
The sheep are rubbing on the fence and taking their own coats off so maybe Spring is on the way.
Have a Great weekend!
woo woos, Tessa

Thanks for the birthday wishes and my belated good thoughts to Maddox. I sure wish we could think to take off our winter coats here, but it's still a little chilly. NewSister Millie has nice, thick hair, but I don't, and our mornings are still pretty cold. Auntie Ellen has knitted a couple of really pretty sweaters that fit Frenchies very nicely, and I am happy to have it on when we go outside.
