New Horse Bedding and a Great Scratch Pad!

Posted by F&S

We, Frenchies, had a little rhythm thing going on the other day and we wandered on down to the stables to see if Betsy wanted to dance with us.  However, Betsy was on a mission because she is trying out a new kind of horse bedding and she was lining a stall with it.  You know that we’re curious about all kinds of things and so we stuck around and watched.

What's that Betsy? You don't have time to dance right now because you need to do something with the horses? Well then, we'll just watch.

This must be the new horse bedding Betsy was talking about. She said it's made from grain straw and it's called STREUfex. www.streufex.com

According to the instructions on the sack, for a 12 x 12 foot stall you only need 6 bags to get started.

We've been told that it's highly absorbent. In fact, it absorbs 4 to 5 times its weight!

Wow, my back kinda itches, but this scratchy hay isn't providing very much relief.

Ahhh, what are you doing to me? That feels so good - much better than the hay.

Oh, it's a scratch pad designed just for itchy animals. It's no secret that all animals enjoy a good scratch!

  • F & S I didn't know you were such good dancers! Too bad Betsy was busy that would have been a great picture the three of you "cutting the rug" - haha!!

So that new bedding looks like gigantic kitty litter. Aren't your horses trained to go out in the yard?

I see that Martha got a baseball from Derek at the Yankee game and said it was for baby Jude. Did she ever bring either of you a baseball home? They are really fun to play with I can carry one in my mouth which amazes mom because the ball is as big as my head. Us Frenchies sure do have wide jaws that let us carry a baseball. It sort of looks like a shark jaw don't you think? Maybe I'm part Great White Shark my teeth look like sharks teeth ;)

So how about those Phillies = can you say SWEEP. Maybe we'll have a Phillies vs. Yankees World Series and then we'll have a parade down Broad Street in South Philadelphia :)

Enjoy your day it's suppose to be in the 70's here today.

  • Girls, you look so cute in your little outfits. My mom said that Betsy is a very nice person so I am sure she will dance with you when she is not busy with the horses.

  • What an interesting product that STREUfex...hmmmm made from grain straw? hope the horses don't want to eat it. Wonder if this would make a good kitty litter? Since my horses are all now in Horsie Heaven I don't have to scrape off all that winter hair... too bad this horse hair couldn't be used for something. I miss my horses terribly, it hurts to think about them...29 years of a horses life with one person is a long time.
We had or first Tornado Warning last night and Kitty came home without her collar, oh boy this is getting expensive replacing them, but she needs them because I don't want her to be captured and taken off by some cat hater in the neighborhood.

  • Hello Ladies,
Spring is in the air!! My nose says so anyhow. Looks like everyone is getting the royal treatment. New bedding, new scratch pads, what fun oh my. We got a little snow/rain mix over the weekend. I think Mom has given up on a blizzard this winter here in town. The mountains got lots of snow this winter, but everyone back east got the blizzards. Enjoy your Monday everyone.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., You two Frenchies are the cutest I have ever seen! You both look so happy being together again and wandering all around the farm! How fun to see you in the stable with Betsy-she is one super stable manager who knows how to care for all of the farm animals! That new horse bedding and the scratch pad look terrific. Ramon sure likes the horse bedding and Francesca, you sure love the new scratchers. I'll bet Sharkey and the beautiful donkeys will love the new scratchers, too. Do we get to see you two dancing later on?! And by the way, where is handsome G.K.?! I'll bet he's outside helping the grounds crew finish clearing the farm, etc. Have a great day! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • I love French Bulldogs. They were a breed I looked at when I was adopting a dog. Poodles were my other choice. I visited many shelters for many months and then one day found my little Buddy, a 10 pound mini poodle. Buddy was found wandering the street of Miami. Read his story here:
http://pugsnewsfromthebeach.com/2009/09/19/his-life-was-saved-on-the-beach.aspx If this little dog can show such courage, certainly we can too. My other dog, PUG, is actually not a pug but an island dog philosopher who is part Dalai Lama and part Jimmy Buffett. Look for him here: http://www.ThePugLady.com
I look forward to reading about your wonderful and delightful girls!

  • You two look so cute playing together once again on the farm. You just need to get your brother GK in the mix to dance as well then you'll have a real party.

Talk about living the life of Reily! No out of season bedding for the horses and donkeys, only the newest and best will do. How nice it is to have a Mom like Martha.

  • Please come back with Martha by mail. I have items that I ordered yrs ago. I loved the products. Please bring them back.
