Sharkey, the Totem Pole

Posted by Sharkey

Update From Francesca:  For all of those who have expressed concern about me, please know that I am visiting my wonderful breeder, who found out that I have traces of Lyme disease.  She is taking very good care of me and, along with her vet, is figuring out the right medication that will make me feel better so that I can return home soon.

________

Uncle Carlos took us for a drive in the woods the other day, when we came upon Alfredo, busy cutting up timber.  Alfredo is very good at using fallen trees to make perches for the chicken coop.  In the meantime, however, I had a different notion for those logs.

OK - Now that the logs are loaded up, what's next?

It's kind of nice sitting up here. I'll just pretend that I'm a majestic figure at the top of a totem pole.

Uncle Carlos, don't I make a nice looking totem pole?

Alfredo, I guess you and I will sit tight until Sharkey gets the totem pole business out of her system.

I have found that you just have to be patient with the Frenchies.

On second thought, Alfredo, Sharkey might be onto something with this totem pole thing.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Thanks for the update on Franny; hope she is feeling better today. I have heard of people sitting on top of flagpoles, but sitting on top of a log is a new one on me. I think your “totem poles” aren’t high enough. I’ve seen some of them and they are really high in the air. As you move along the western coast of Canada and Alaska, the poles seem to get shorter. I guess it’s because the trees are not as tall in northern Alaska. As a matter of fact, there are no trees in a lot of places in Alaska. Now if you are like me and need a good tree at times, you are just out of luck. I had to “make do” with some bushes. It’s March already; spring can’t be too far away.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., So glad to hear that Francesca's breeder and vet have discovered what was wrong with her. My Mom remembers reading about Franny having a possible lyme disease a while ago on Martha's blog. Our prayers are with Franny to get well soon so she can get back home with the two of you and Martha. Sharkey and G.K., you sure must have had a wonderful time with Uncle Carlos and Alfredo cutting those big logs. I just love these photos of the two of you being the top of totem poles! You both look so adorable and maybe someone could make totem poles with you two and Franny! Would love to see them!!! Have a great day everyone! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
First off, I am so glad to get word from you Franny. You would have thought that Mama Martha's vet would have caught Lyme Disease. That has to be an awful thing. I hope you are getting the deluxe treatment and care. Zoe and I were about ready to help you make an escape if we didn't get word soon. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for your good health and return home soon. Keep us updated!!!
Now for Sharkey and G.K., it looks kind of scary up on that log,I mean Totem Pole. You both look very fashionable and dressed for the occassion. Also, congrats to you girls and G.K. that you are going to be Aunts and Uncle soon. Mama Martha said yesterday that Alexis is expecting in 2-3 weeks. It must be expecting an arrival, cause she sure didn't look pregnant on her show last fall. But what do I know? Keep well all and feel better soon Franny!!
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Oh Franny Fanny THANK YOU for the update! I remember a mention of the Lyme disease before, I pray all will be better for you...we all Love you!
WOW Sharkey you are so well mannered to sit on that pole and not fall off...a trusting canine, that's what you are! G.K. you look like you're enjoying yourself...a happy day helping Alfredo...

  • franny don't feel bad, Mom's horse got lymes disease and the only way she knew was he got really crabby.

  • Hi Sharkey and GK: The two of you are always so busy, helping out with projects. Let's hope you get more snacks than usual to help cope with the chill in the air.

Very good to hear that Francesca is going to come home pretty soon. My parents and I are very sorry to hear that she has Lyme's disease. No wonder she didn't feel good. We will keep her in our thoughts. Healing energy to you Franny!

It is very warm and windy here today. Uncle George who does the lawn work, was by to discuss this year's cutting schedule and price. Spring weather is on its way to us.

Well, it's time for a nap and a snack. Momma and daddy went to PetSmart for me today. I couldn't go cause they also had to go to Wal-Mart, daddy's doctor and the post office too. They never leave me in the car - not ever.

Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi everyone. rocky here I wasn't allowed on lately and not by my mom if you know what I mean We've had lyme in the house but... Hope franny is alright! Hope this is better your friend rocky

  • Sharkey you and GK look very cute outdoors sitting on your makeshift totem poles. I'm trying but I'm having a hard time enjoying these recent blog posts knowing that Franny has been sent to the breeder.

Lyme Disease? Francesca already had Lyme Disease about a 1 1/2 years ago. It came back? I thought she was sent to the breeder for a doggie psych eval. about head butting and now it's discovered she has a trace of Lyme Disease? I thought Dr. Marty was one of the best. He got her through it before why not this time? Praying that you come home soon Franny.

  • Francesca, you have to be thrilled to know that
so many people as well as your animal friends
care so much about you. That is a nice feeling.
I hope you have a speedy recovery. As for Sharkey
and my boy, you both know that you are canines, not
mountain goats, don't you? Kool pictures. GK, keep
    on having a blast

  • Feel better quick Franny!
We have way too much experience with tick borne diseases with Lambchop. (Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever & Ehrlichiosis twice - grrrrr). No fun at all.

Sonya, unfortunately recurrence of tick borne diseases is not uncommon. : (

  • Darling little Franny,

I have just googled lyme disease as I didn't exactly what it was, I will be praying for you to return home extra healthy and full of vigour.

    God bless you,

  • We all miss you Franny very much !!!! Can't wait to see you on the blog again...I'm sure Sharkey and GK miss you too!!

  • .....I Just Stopped by the Blog ...Poor Frannie....Come Back To Us ...more vigorous than before.....We Miss You......
