Keeping an Eye on Tang and Peony

Posted by Sharkey

The weather was quite warm the other day and the sun was shining brightly.  Martha thought it would be a good idea to let the cats go outside for a breath of fresh air.  After all, they’ve been essentially hibernating most of the winter.  I was looking out the door when I spied the two calico Persians.  Tell me, why do most cats have a superiority complex?

I have a strong sense that those two troublemaking calico fluff ball horrors are outside. And I bet they're up to no good. I can just feel it in my bones!

Ah-ha! Evidence right here on the flagstone!

And now, a visual confirmation! Those calico colors don't exactly blend in with a snow bank.

It's Empress Tang and she has her usual mischievous smirk.

Look at her slinking around like some jungle cat about to pounce on her prey.

What's this? A rather acrobatic jump up to join forces with her equally nefarious sister, Princess Peony.

It looks like Tang has a plan.

Just know that I have my eye on you two cunning felines!

Drat! Here they go whispering secrets again. If only I knew feline body language better.

Now where are they off to? Always scheming! And fortunate for them, their narrow bodies fit through narrow passages.

Whatever you two are conspiring, you should know that I'm watching carefully!!!

  • Boy Sharkey you sure do have your paws full with Peony and Tang. You're right, those two are always up to something and it usually means getting after you and Franny. Saw on MommyMartha's blog that she was shooting a segment in the cold house. I hope the three of make an appearance on the show. :amile:

@Rocky Give your Momma a big hug please. Hope she's feeling better.

  • Sharkey I give you credit I don't think I could tolerate living with those furballs. They annoy me just looking at them, they have that smug look on their face all the time like they are the rulers of the house. Mom says they are pretty but not me, just a ball of fur that needs to be roughed up ;)

F & S do you think we'll ever see green grass again? I have dreams about rolling in the soft grass with the warm sun beaming down on my little body - oh how I long for spring. OMG is that me saying that I sound like a sophisticated Frenchie not a toilet paper eating monster. I better snap out of it people will start to think I'm sweet.

I'm off to find a Lab I feel like playing.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
My Daddy had better wake up this morning; haven’t seen him use the “backspace” key this much in a long time. There are two “L’s” in hello, and no “A” in Kirby. I keep telling you what cats are for; not going to repeat it again now. I’m like you Sharkey, I watch cats very carefully; they are always up to no good most of the time. I see you still have lots of snow on the ground. Silly me, now where would it be if it wasn’t on the ground? Anyway, it’s been warm here and the trees out front have small buds on them this early. Last time this happened the frost killed the buds and we didn’t have many blooms on the trees. Just think, in less than a month we will have everything turning green from all the pine tree pollen. What the heck, it’s almost spring anyway.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies,
Furballs, furballs, furballs everywhere. I can't believe how they try to keep secrets and take over things. You are right in that they are up to something. I don't trust them one bit. My people Aunt and Uncle have adopted a furball. OMG!!!! They have gone to the dark side. How could they not have dogs anymore??? Mom and Dad say they have had a great line of dogs--dogs that went camping for years. What do they do to pay tribute--go to the dark side and get a furball. Oh well, Miss Kitty, welcome to my family, even if you are a furball.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Whoa, whoa whoa!!!! KITTY here! I have to intervene in behave of the felines!!!! superiority complex? that's someone that possess the fantasy and daydreaming experiences that he/she is better than other individuals...not Tang and Peony!

    I mean come on Sharkey...
two trouble-making calico fluff ball horrors?
    mischievous smirk?
    nefarious sister, Princess Peony?
    two cunning felines?
    Always scheming?
    conspiring?

Oh my, that is awful to hear, surely you are being inventive. I mean come on, how can any Gato as cute at Tang and Peony possess such negativity?
You ask, why do most cats have a superiority complex?
Well we Gatos have to feel superior because most people/dogs lack the confidence to be around a cat who feels good about themselves and doesn't need anyone to do everything for them...it's called self sufficient.

Guess no one ever sticks up for your household felines, so I will...Meeeuw from Kitty

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., OMG! You sure have had a lot of snow this winter and I'm sure all of you will be very happy when it finally melts away. I can understand why Tang and Peony like to go outside when they see some areas that are cleared of snow. They are still young kitties and are very curious about everything and love to check things inside and outside of the house. Sharkey, you sure do a nice job keeping track of everyone else and you are very thoughtful! Why didn't you go outside with the kitties?! It's probably too cold out there and they can take it because they are much more hairy than you are. Hope you have a great day and can't wait to see what you do next! Stay warm everybody! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hi to all of you Sweetie Pies and thanks for the daily laugh Sharkey - this blog was very funny! I must say you looked quite fetching on the show this morning in your citrus colored coat and no doubt you were keeping a close eye on G.K. as he roamed around. Make sure those cats stay out of trouble this weekend while Martha is down here in Florida. You're a good watch dog!

  • During winter I love to let my rabbits out of their rabbit hutches and play in the snow... They are so cute especially the white one playing in one place to the other.

  • Cats in the snow!

If they stay out too long they will turn into "Cat-sicles"!

    That will teach 'em! :)
