G.K. the Tech Dog

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

I was visiting Susie in her office in the stable when she told me that she was having problems with the copier machine.  You may not know this about me, but I’m something of a tech guru.  Susie and Maureen looked doubtful when I volunteered my services, but they were soon very impressed.

Alright ladies - I think I can help you with your copier machine. I know a little bit about these issues. I'll troubleshoot your problem, so just sit back and relax!

Just as I thought! The screen confirms that the black toner is out.

Now, which one of these is the black toner?

Here it is. An easy task for a tech-dog, like me.

Luckily, I'm prepared for situations like this one. I just happen to have a replacement toner handy!

Not to worry - The old cartridge and this cardboard box will be recycled.

I'll just slide the new toner in.

Now, to test it out! I'll make a copy of this nice little painting of my grandfather, Paw Paw.

Place it face down on the glass.

Lower the lid down and don't look at the bright, bright light as it scans the painting!

A perfect copy! The machine is back in action!

Yes, I know Susie. You think I'm a very capable Chow Chow and a very good boy! Now, where's my treat?

  • I do remember that you are a doggie tech guru GK when you went around the house making sure the computers and wiring were in good shape. That is a serious looking copier there GK. This might be your winter calling since Franny & Sharkey are napping so much. You can take care of the farm and make sure the tech gear doesn't go down.

Don't let Susie get away with just sweet talk and neck rubs. Negotiate to get a treat upfront and a treat when the job is finished.

  • G.K. I'm impressed, didn't know you were such a tech guru, must of learned that from F & S.

It was sure cold here last night windchill had to be close to zero!! My mom made sure I had my coat on this morning before I went out and decorated the snow with my cute little droppings ;)

Well today won't be much fun mom is having the kitchen painted. Mom picked out a color from Martha's collection it's called Lentil I think it will look great with the new floors. Of course I'll be in my crate watching from a distance when I should be in there giving the painter some tips.

  • It must be so comforting for Susie and Maureen to know they can count on you when they are having "tech issues". Good job.

  • Very Impressive to know G.K. the Chow pup knows technology...what's next?

Today the high will be -7 degrees, Kitty can't stand to go out but for a few minutes, guess she's a smart feral cat, just to know that it's better inside then out...meeuw!

mommie delia has a bit of envy on that copier, she'd love to make prints of her paintings on that...lucky dog!

  • G.K., you are a wondrous tech guru! Francesca and Sharkey are experts regarding internal combustion engines, so Martha has most machine-related concerns covered, in regard to repairs. Do you think she planned it that way? Dog treats are much cheaper than human-related repair costs. Hmmm...maybe you and the Frenchies should collectively bargain, if you know what I mean. Bye!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Now that didn’t surprise me on bit that GK could fix the copier. Now where do you think he keeps his “parts” he needs to fix things? I know that Chow Chows have a lot of fur, but keeping something that big in his fur just can’t be done. Maybe he has a supply truck outside somewhere. My Daddy has been teaching me how to fix a few things around the house. Now if I could just get him to finish that handrail. One coat of paint just won’t get it. I had better cool it or I won’t get to take my walk.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Wow, G.K., thanks for sharing this important blog post! My Mom needs to replace her black ink on her printer very soon and thanks to you I can now help her with the project! You are not only handsome, but you are a brilliant fellow! Susie and Maureen must have been very thankful for your assistance! What kind of a treat did you get?!! I always get Paul Newman's cute, delicious heart shaped treats! Have you had any of them? Have a great day and say Hi to your sisters for me! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hi there GK: WOW! You sure are tech-smart! Companies pay good money for someone with all your knowledge. You could get a very large salary of snacks and toys and all the attention you can hold with all your IT skills.

Well, it is going to start snowing this evening. It will be the fourth time this season, which is really odd. I love it but momma and daddy have had enough. We still have moles in our yard and momma doesn't know what she is going to do about that. She doesn't want to kill them, cause she is against the thought of killing a creature and there must be another way to get rid of them. To help momma out I am going to ask any of our bloggers if they know.

I'm going to go have a nap now. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello G.K. & Ladies,
I am so impressed with you G.K. It must be your youth. I am not too good at much more than wagging on the Daily Wag, when it comes to computers. F & S have taught you well. I am late today, just been lazy in front of the fire all day. I love the fire. Take care all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • GRACYN:
I know Castor Beans will kill moles, but since that's not an option for you maybe this can help...

I have used Mothballs in the hole and I also found this on the internet:

There are two good ways (a farmer told me these tactics):

If you have a cat and they are shedding, keep the fur and ball it up and stick it down the mole hole.

Or put an aspirin down the hole.

  • GK, it's amazing you're a dog and knew which was the black toner and differentiated it from the colors. Who said dogs were colorblind?!! BTW, I would have surprised S and sat on the copier to take a test shot!!! :) tee hee hee

  • Dear G.K.:

Ahhhh, I see where this is heading. You are certainly moving in on Miss Francesca and Miss Sharkey whilst in the midst of their unknowing winter slumber. You certainly have built an impressive skill set for a doggie of such a tender age. I thought Sharkey's honey extraction was outstanding, but clearly, a "tech-dog" she is not. You have cleverly disguised your genius as a cuddly and cute fur ball, but deep down you a very bright and ruthless player, G.K., just like your namesake, and um....I'm on to you ;-)
