G.K. and I Visit the TV Studio

Posted by Sharkey

Uncle Carlos took Francesca to visit the French bulldog breeder in Maryland, who wanted to talk to Franny about why Frenchies shouldn’t head-butt their owners, or anyone else, for that matter.  It was lonely while she was gone, so Martha suggested that G.K. and I visit the TV studio.  As you will see from these photos, it was a very bright show all about citrus fruits and I had a really great time.  It was really amusing to see how confident G.K. has become.  He’s kind of a wonder dog.

As you can see, I was appropriately dressed for Martha's Citrus Show. It was a very colorful audience.

Before going on set G.K. took a nice long drink of water in Martha's office/dressing room. He takes his appearances on television very seriously.

He then had a nice visit with Samantha Rood, the Talent Assistant for the show. Making nice with all the right people, G.K.! You're one smooth Chow Chow!

Of course, G.K. and I wanted to meet the pretty gals who modeled citrus colored clothing on the show. They were beautiful and so, so nice!

I tell you, there's nothing shy about G.K.

Like I said, he just positions himself right in the middle of all the action!

While Joey Kola was amusing the audience, the kitchen staff handed out fresh-squeezed tangerine juice.

Apparently, G.K. didn't want to miss out on that either!

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., This was a really fun blog post you did today, Sharkey, but I really missed seeing Francesca in the studio with you and G.K. I'm sure glad that Uncle Carlos went with her to Maryland and I am anxious for her to return to the farm and do her posting as usual. You and G.K. sure did have fun there in the studio, didn't you?! You both looked so great and I'm sure the audience loved having you there!! We finally got 4 inches of snow yesterday and luckily my Mom shoveled away some paths so I could go out to do my business. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • The bright colors of the citrus show is just what my snow weary eyes needed heading into the weekend. 9" more of snow is forecast! :frown: I love how you and GK are sort of matching Sharkey. I find it so funny that you Franny, and GK always like to moon the camera every time you're on T.V!

Speaking of Frannypants this is a bittersweet blog post today. I hope she comes back home this weekend. The headbutt was an accident because she was startled awake by MommyMartha. What a big mess this turned into. We love you Francesca!!!!!

  • Hello Ms. Sharkey,
I would like to introduce myself to you, I am Maddox, father of G.K. Now that I am retired from active showing at dog shows I have more time to catch up on things. One of the things I wanted to do was to get to know you and Francesca better as you are G.K.'s new sisters now. I must say, I find you very attractive in your outfits. You should become a model. I also wanted to tell you that I think you and Franny are doing a wonderful job showing my boy the ins and outs of living on a farm. I hope to get to know your regular furry blogger friends as well. GK looks very congident in the studio. You must have given him tips. Thank you for looking out for him.

  • Good Morning Sharkey

This story about Franny does not sound good. Why would Martha send her to a Breeder to talk about head butts? I thought it was an accident that Franny was sleeping and Martha startled her? Is Martha sending Franny away? Is there more to the story that we don't know? Franny you can come live with me!!!

I can't even comment on your Citrus Show I'm so upset. Poor Franny, where are you???? So Martha even if it wasn't an accident doesn't the little girl deserve a second chance????

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Yep I caught the show and GK was wonderful. Like most Chow Chows, he really does know how to “work” a crowd. I think that’s just part of being a Chow Chow. It’s raining this morning and I don’t get to take my walk. Mommy has been having some medical test and so far everything is coming out all right. After the colonoscopy, the doctor told her that she was good for another few years in that department. I knew she was alright; I give her a “pet scan” every other day. Daddy is doing good too; cancer free for over a year now. Well, it’s the weekend; take care all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
Yes, I commented on that wonderful citrus show yesterday. Sharkey and G.K., you both were a great big hit. I loved seeing you, but as I posted yesterday it was very alarming to me as well Zoe, that Franny was sent to the breeder for the so called "accident." I defended Mama Martha when it happened as people outside our Wagger circles insisted that Franny bit Martha. I said, "NEVER", it was just a head butt. Even if it had been a bite I told everyone that Franny was awakened from deep sleep. Don't we all get startled when that happens? Franny, tell this breeder you want to be free and at home. What in the world is up? I am worried and upset.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • What a colorful audience! makes me want Spring to be here already (we are getting more snow):(
I am also upset about Franny, but then we don't know all the circumstances...I will pray for her and hope all turns out to be OK.
G.K. what a fluff you are working the audience...good for you.

  • Hi everyone!

Francesca here, from the Eastern Shore, MD!
It is fun to visit with my first family and I am doing well but do I miss all of you

Today I walked out on the dock to see if there were any blue crabs in the water..but no..it is too early! I do love a good steamed crab claw...
I am getting to visit all my old friends from Maryland...

OK, Bette has promised to share one of her beds with me..so I am off to play with her!!

Will be seeing all of you soon!!!

    HUGS to all
    Francesca

  • Right from the beginning the head butt story did not ring true to me! Seeing Martha's huge gash that required all those stiches seemed more like a BITE and if Miss francesca is into biting there are no second changes! because she will bite again and maybe this time it could be a child. People need to remember as cute as these dogs are they are not PEOPLE they are animals.

  • Hi Sharkey, GK and Miss Martha: I must say this! Please don't send Francesca away. She didn't mean to hurt you. We all love Franny on this blog and she is a real important part of the family you know. When is she coming back? My momma and daddy have always checked to see if I was awake before they would place their head near mine to give me a kiss or to say that they love me. It is best that way. Please bring Franny back to us. We protest!!!

It is rather stormy today on the coast of NC. So cloudy, windy and rain is expected soon. My momma said she was getting antsy so she went with me and dad on our morning walk. That was really fun.

Have a great weekend everyone. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Franny Fanny!!!! soooo good to see you here again! I'm glad your visiting your first family and that you're doing well...We miss you too!
Funny, I don't recall seeing that first part of the Posting on your blog here, that you and Uncle Carlos went on a trip to Maryland...hope I'm not loosing it *!* :-0

  • Does this mean that Francesca is in the...well...dog house?

  • Franny good to hear from you but besides looking for a blueclaw crab what are they doing to you down there? Shock treatments, torture chambers? I'm very concerned.

As for you Monalisa1 did you ever hear the phrase "to forgive is divine" and you are correct she is a dog, why startle a sleeping dog from a sound sleep? I live with 3 big Labs and mom will walk them and people will come up and ask can I pet your dog, are they friendly? Of course they are friendly but my big brother T-Bone thinks this stranger might hurt my mom. Mom's response is always the same - they never bit anyone but I think it be best if you didn't - and what do they do pet the dogs!!!

Whether this was a head-butt or bite it was an accident, the dog was sleeping and then startled. It's not like she is being rasied by Mike Vick and trained to attack!!!

Franny our thoughts are with you little girl I hope Martha brings you home soon.

    Love
    Zoe, Precious, Sophie and T-Bone

  • I, like Zoe, have to do a second note on the blog. Monalisa1, what are you thinking? To forgive is divine. Franny is not a trained fighter and it was an accident. If it be known, one time Mom was cleaning my ears (which I am used to because I get them cleaned 3 times a week), and I often just snap at the air, but one time I accidentally nipped Mom instead of the air.It even broke the skin. Should I be send off to the mountains of Russia to learn my lesson---NOT!!! Sometimes we all make mistakes, but we are not viscious 4 legged trained attack dogs. Franny, my love and extra licks are with you. Zoe, you and I might have to be in charge of an escape plan for Franny if things don't start looking up for her. I miss her! Please come home soon Franny.
    Love & licks,
    Basil
