Driving to the Catskills
Posted by Francesca
On Martha’s blog today, she talks about a recent trip we all took to the Catskill Mountains in New York State. As usual, Martha tells her story and we, dogs, get to tell ours. Have a look!
Hey, Sharkey and G.K.! - There's the Bear Mountain Bridge up ahead! It crosses over the mighty Hudson River and leads right to Bear Mountain State Park.
And look what's right outside the window!
Amazing walls of ice!
I think you would agree with me that this is artwork of Mother Nature.
The rocks and branches are her canvas.
And the dripping water is her paint.
Combine that with below freezing temperatures and presto! You have a masterpiece!
OK - We're now crossing the bridge! It's not at all scary until.....
You look over the edge to the icy waters below!
It appears that we have to pay a toll on our return trip. All snouts on deck and look under the seats for loose change!
I just had to stop the car for this one! What a funny sport G.K, isn't it?
Well, actually, Francesca - it's called ice hockey, and it's quite exciting and fun.
Why Sharkey, if I weren't leashed up, I'd run right out there and join the action. I'm sure I'd make a great goalie. I could easily catch the puck between my front paws!
Give it up, G.K! Ice hockey is very fast and dangerous and you don't even have the proper gear for protection. Can you even skate?
