What We Found With Our Toys

Posted by Sharkey

Franny and I wanted to play outside the other day, but it was just too darn cold, so we started looking for indoor options.  Martha keeps toys for us all around the house and I wanted to play with some that were in a little storage cube.  Of course, things don’t always go according to plan.

Hey Franny, since it's so cold outside, why don't we get some of our toys out to play with?1

Sharkey, let's find Uncle Carlos and ask him to take us to PetSmart for some new toys. Then, we'll find a new hiding place so this doesn't happen again.13

  • So sorry to hear about Frannie's accidental damage to Mommie Martha. I'm sure she just woke up and was startled. Hope you both feel better soon.

  • Hello Ladies,
Do cat's have no shame? Taking over your toy chest!!OMG!!!! We have to think of something good to retaliate and give those cats a taste of their own medicine. Come on, Daily Waggers, it is up to us to rescue the girls. And I heard about Mama Martha's encounter with you Francesca. It was an accident so I hope Martha isn't upset with you. You know what I did when I was a young pup? I jumped up and was playing with Tasha and scratched her eye. It got infected and she had to have medicine, but she still loved me. I know Mama Martha loves you lots too. Give her that home made veggie soup now. She will really appreciate it. Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow and Zoe, oh where, oh where can my friends be--please bring them back to me. Take care all, keep warm and have a great weekend.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Boy those cats give you two no respect. It was like Bartok was saying, "Yeah, what are you gonna do about it?" Empress Tang/Princess Peony is not helping one bit. Sharkey if you are allergic how can you stand being around the cats at all or are you making a joke? I miss GK! I haven't seen your sweet little brother in awhile. I love it when the three of you are together.

Well I hope all of the excitement has died down now that you and MommyMartha have stopped trying to recreate the WWE at home Franny. All kidding aside, it's amazing how a simple goodnight whisper could turn into a trip to the emergency room. It's snowy out this weekend so I prescribe that you, Sharkey, and GK snuggle up with MommyM all weekend long and help her feel better. Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Franny I hope this comment gets posted and the "editors" don't find it too edgy........

Don't blame yourself my friend it was an accident and your moma still loves you.

I had the same experience, I was startled and got my mom's wrist pretty bad. I was so upset that I wouldn't eat or come out of my bed. Mom had to take me to see Dr. Keefe and he said the accident was just as traumatic for me as it was mom. I had to take medicine and after a week I was back to my old self.

Now my dad had the same type of cut Martha had from our Westie who was around before my time. The gash looks exactly the same. Mom took him to the emergency room where she passed out watching the doctors do the same procedure Martha received. Mom said she started to get a little woozy looking at the pictures. The plastic surgeon did a great job you can't see the cut, he had 11 stitches. The only complaint he has now is that part of his lip still feels numb but there is no scar.

Sharkey and G.K. make sure you give your sister lots of love and Martha too.

  • Oh ick! A CAT in your toy box! Ptewi! I need a shower just thinking about it! It's time to drag the cat toys around the donkey paddock, girls! Let's see how Bartok likes a good dose of Eau de Donkey! Give him a good scent of Parfumerie du Ass in his favorite sleeping areas! 2011 is the year of the dog!

  • Well to my surprise I turn on the computer and see the headlines "Martha Stewart gets stitches after dog strikes lip" WOW, now that is sensationalism at best! Geesh, of course reading the article you realize this was to suck you in...shame on the news media...JMO.
Franny we all know this was an accident and that you love mommie Martha dearly and she loves you...I tried to get to MS blog, but I think everyone else is doing so as well as it won't connect...so later I'll check to see what she says.
And for Bartok, hmmmmm....you should know better then to get into a doggie basket of any-kind, even my 'Kitty' knows better.

  • hi guys, frannie i heard you pulled a rocky. Go girl go. I know your mom knows you didn't mean it. We have a saying Don't wake the sleeping gizmo! He's my dad and he is blind so you must go careful! I know about the toy problem Bo has almost tore apart all my toys. Your friend Rocky

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Thanks for sharing this blog post about your fun PetSmart toys and the great box to keep them in. The only way you will be able to keep the cats out of your toy box is to put a cover over it. I guess you didn't know that cats love to get in boxes and paper bags and sleep in them. Learn something new everyday!!! Hey Basil, I think my Mom found a blog post by Zoe on Martha's blog about her trip to the emergency room. If your Mom will check Martha's comments , Zoe's comment is at 5:03PM on Thursday, Jan.13th. Have a great weekend everyone! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hi Francesca, Sharkey and kitties: Franny the accident with Miss Martha wasn't your fault or hers. Things just happen, like......momma said years ago, she and Tater were playing with toys when momma threw it and it landed under the bed. Well, momma and Tater went for the toy and momma got her face too close to Tater and Tater turned too fast and whacked her in the jaw with her snout. Momma said she was stunned AND saw stars too caused it almost knocked her out. But, she always loved Tater and understood. Miss Martha understands too and she loves you.

Hmmm.....kitties in your toybox?? That's abnormal and sounds like a conspiracy of some sort. Grandpa Littleman cat never got in my toybox. As a matter of fact, momma said that the cats never bothered or touched Taters numerous toys and Tater never went near their toys. Kitties taking over your toybox! Can you imagine such a thing???? The nerve!

Well, everyone have a great weekend. I miss you Zoe. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • So sorry to hear about your injury Martha! These little critters are stronger than we think. Two years ago, when I was walking my 5 pound Maltese, Rocky, he bolted ahead of me, I tripped in a pot hole face first. I was still holding the leash while lying on the ground, covered in blood. I had to get five stitches in my chin and my right jaw was completely severed. My mouth was wired shut for about three months. I also had to have some of my teeth fixed. Of course, we love our dogs no matter what happens. I love Rocky more than ever and whatever he puts me through is worth it! Nancy in Short Hills, NJ.

  • Dearest French Bulldogs,
I just found your blog and LOVE it. I've always been enchanted with your breed. I'll be checking back often.
I also visit a blog I know you would love. It's called http://www.dailypuglet.com. Puglet is a dog you might like and he's becoming quite famous. Hope you check him out and that you like him as much as I do.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’m really glad that I don’t have cats sleeping all over, or under, my toys. I have some really good toys and I don’t want to share them with anyone. Wow, I thought that Chow Chows were rough. It looks like Franny is rough too. One day I was playing with my Daddy and I reached out and took a swing at him with my paw. I hit his glasses and knocked them off of his face. There was a scratch on his cheek and on the glasses also. I’m afraid to think of what would have happened if he hadn’t had his glasses on. He usually takes them off when we play, but this time he didn’t. Have a good weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hard heads run in the family, Raven dear. My Papa, Money, was a big old lunk head who could mow down grown men if he tried. I tested my head out on the bronze ducklings in the Boston Public Garden. They won, but just barely!

  • love the pics! so darn cute!!

  • Yea...Zoe is back!!!!!!

  • So happy to see Zoe back. She is the hightlight to my day and to this blog. I just love her. I will be back to reading everyday again. Thank you Zoe....

  • I like the doggy toy box. My dog, Fagan, keeps all his toys within touching distance of his bed. We don't dare try to move them because he always knows when one is missing.
