Too Much Snow For Sharkey!

Posted by F&S

As Martha wrote about on her blog today, we were hit hard with another snowstorm.  We Frenchies wanted to go outside and explore, so we donned our beautiful new white snow parkas.  Of course, we had no idea how deep the snow was and things got a little dicey.

1 Well, Francesca, we're wearing our new white snow parkas and I think we blend into the background a bit too much. At least, I do.

2 There's something kind of yummy about freshly fallen snow. Don't you think, Franny?

  • Hello Ladies,
You girls better be careful--you could drown in the snow. What in the world were you thinking? How long did it take you to warm up? Forever!! You are lucky. We just heard the news and Central Park got 19 inches of snow. We in Denver are going to have 60 degrees tomorrow. I wish we could trade you. Only our mountains in Colorado have been getting snow. Send some West young women!! Francesca, that last photo of you looks like you have had it. Demand Hot Cocoa on your next pay raise talks. Have a great weekend all and stay warm out East.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Now that's what you call a white out! Sharkey those coats are very pretty but not with all that snow, especially with Domminick out clearing the carriage roads. Franny, even you were getting lost. You can now add snow swimming to your Doggie Olympics girls.
Good luck getting GK to come back inside with you. I bet he was flying around doing belly flops. Have a great weekend everyone. Kirby Bear have you forgiven Mommy & Daddy yet for their temporary puppy love?

  • Good Morning F & S
I finally got mom to agree to type for me, she is still P O'd, must have caught her at a weak moment.

Love the white parkas, I just got a purple one with fur trim. I have to say I just HATE this snow. The Labs go running around jumping and having fun and I can't even get out there to due my business without mom shoveling a path to the back yard. If I leave the path I sink and it's so deep I could be stuck out there for days. Hey I know what I need one of those emergency response things they advertise on TV "HELP I FELL AND I CAN'T GET UP" yeah that will work.

We had our annual visit to Dr. Keefe, we're all in good shape. I get scared when that nurse brings out the temperture thing, she gets that evil grin and sticks it up my butt - OUCH!!! I hate that, but she said my temp was good. I am 20 pounds, perfect weight. On my way out I met a big old bulldog, Buster. He thought he was tough I put him in his place. Mom had to carry me out I wanted a piece of him bad ;)

I hope everyone has a nice weekend, stay warm and safe.

  • Wow, that snow is deep! I've never romped in snow here in Central Texas, where it's going to be 73 degrees today. Is it important to practice the doggy paddle for such snowfalls, Sharkey? Maybe I'd better bone up on exercise. Stay safe, girls!

  • Numbers 8 & 13 are priceless. Someone should figure a way to market those two photos. Jennifer the Beagle's Mom, Judy

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
You two will have to trade me places to live. You don’t like the snow and I just love the stuff. I’ll bet GK and I could have lots of fun playing and chasing one another in the snow. With your short legs, you had better stick to the paths around the farm. You may just get stuck and be there until the “spring thaw” or you freeze. I don’t think you would make very good statues. Went for my walk yesterday; Daddy and I am on good terms again. He even took me on a longer walk this morning; he’s getting soft in his old age but don’t you tell him I said that. The weekend is here, so everyone keep safe out there.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Now I have seen everything! parkas for dogs with faux fur!
What you Frenchies won't endure for a photo, so much snow and so low bodied...not a good thing.
You guys are so special and loyal, yes indeed! ;)

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., OMG! What were you little, short girls doing out there in the 18 inches of new snow?!! Where was G.K.? I'll bet the snow almost covered him up, also! Sharkey, I think you were very brave to try to romp around out in the snow. but I'm so happy that you were able to paddle your way out of it. Next time you get a lot of snow, you better take a yardstick out to see how deep it is. Francesca, I think you did a great job NOT trying to romp around in the deep snow! Your photos today were fun to look at. but a little scarey at times. Sure hope you both got nice and warm in the house again. Take care, stay warm and have a great weekend!!! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+ PS-So happy to see you back again, ZOE!

  • You are so precious, have fun playing in the snow.
    Happy weekend.
