Burlapping the Catmint? Silly!

Posted by Francesca

Last week, we, Frenchies, explained that there was a memory card in our camera that we kind of forgot about.  It had our squirrel tree all decorated for the holidays, which we blogged about last week.  It also had these amazing shots of us helping with some garden chores.  We share those with you now.

Hi, Shaun - Say, what are you doing up on that step ladder with that big hammer?

You're getting ready to wrap the catmint with burlap? Why on earth would the catmint need burlap? Doesn't it grow like weeds? Oh, we get it! The clematis are in this garden, also.

Shaun, I'll be happy to help you with this task. Now that I'm up here, what do I do next?

Maybe you could just help me lift this heavy thing.

Up and over my head and down on the post! Wham!!!

Chhewang, what are you doing over there? That thing looks like a giant nail!

Oh, I see. It's quite heavy and pointed and you are able to make holes in the frozen ground for the wooden stakes that the burlap will be attached to.

Hey, Sharkey! I'm helping Chhewang make holes for the wooden stakes that you and Shaun are pounding into the ground.

Wow! This is very gratifying work.

No wonder you're always smiling, Chhewang!

Franny, let's trot down and see our handy work. You know, we got that chore done just in time before all this snow fell.

I'm not too worried about the catmint - It makes the cats act so strangely. However, I'm sure happy that the clematis are protected. That's one of my favorite flowers.

  • I have 2 boxers and a bischon that over see everything we do, including office work.

  • You two are always such good helpers. I'm sure Shaun and Chhewang appreciated the help. I'm impressed that you two are so fashion forward that you are wearing burlap matching fleece pullovers.

I have been authorized to send out this message from our good buddy Zoe.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
You two forgot about the “card” in the camera which made me think a little. I have some pictures in my camera also. It’s fun to look at those older pictures and relive the past even if it has been only two or three months. Well the snow is still here this morning which is not the normal thing; usually melts within 24 hours. There is about a quarter of inch of ice on top of the snow from the freezing rain we had yesterday. It’s really slick and makes a “crunching” sound when Daddy walks in the snow. The driveway is so slick, from the ice, that I can hardly walk on it. I guess I’ll have to watch my step or I’ll bust my you know what.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies,
Well look at you both in your color coordinated fleece to do the burlap work. I am sure glad that you had Shaun and Chhewang to assist in the heavy lifts. I know they had to be grateful to you both for your assistance. That G.K. never seems to be in sight when work is on the agenda. Does he think he is royalty like his namesake? Thank you Sonya for getting us word from Zoe that she is o.k. But that was such a tease. When will she be back? Are her parents on vacation or is she sick in the hospital? A little more info please!!! We are the Daily Waggers after all!!! Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow I hope to hear from you today. Still worried about you. We never did hear what happened to Shoeboy--one day he was here and then gone!! The fire is already going and it is only 4 out. I heard something about giving me a bath--oh, no!! Better run and hide.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., Wow, you two girls sure did do a hefty job helping Shaun and Chhewang get those clematis and catmints covered with burlap before it snowed! Those sledge hammers look pretty heavy for you to lift, but I know you are strong because you exercise a lot and are very active. Shaun and Chhewang sure did enjoy your help! Thank you to Sonya for letting us know about Zoe! Please say Hi to G.K. because I miss seeing and hearing from him, too! Have a great day and stay warm! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Frenchies, got back on the computer today, lots of 'catching up' here.
As usual you guys are such great helpers! I'm sure Shaun and Chhewang are happy to have your input and help.

Love your coats...what a wardrobe you guys have!
