Burlapping the Catmint? Silly!
Posted by Francesca
Last week, we, Frenchies, explained that there was a memory card in our camera that we kind of forgot about. It had our squirrel tree all decorated for the holidays, which we blogged about last week. It also had these amazing shots of us helping with some garden chores. We share those with you now.
Hi, Shaun - Say, what are you doing up on that step ladder with that big hammer?
You're getting ready to wrap the catmint with burlap? Why on earth would the catmint need burlap? Doesn't it grow like weeds? Oh, we get it! The clematis are in this garden, also.
Shaun, I'll be happy to help you with this task. Now that I'm up here, what do I do next?
Maybe you could just help me lift this heavy thing.
Up and over my head and down on the post! Wham!!!
Chhewang, what are you doing over there? That thing looks like a giant nail!
Oh, I see. It's quite heavy and pointed and you are able to make holes in the frozen ground for the wooden stakes that the burlap will be attached to.
Hey, Sharkey! I'm helping Chhewang make holes for the wooden stakes that you and Shaun are pounding into the ground.
Wow! This is very gratifying work.
No wonder you're always smiling, Chhewang!
Franny, let's trot down and see our handy work. You know, we got that chore done just in time before all this snow fell.
I'm not too worried about the catmint - It makes the cats act so strangely. However, I'm sure happy that the clematis are protected. That's one of my favorite flowers.
