Welcoming Sasa, Our New Horse

Posted by Francesca

Remember last week when I blogged about the possibility of getting a new Friesian horse for the farm?  Well, yesterday, Sharkey and I drove down to the stable to see if anything had come of that and here’s what we found!

Sharkey, I wonder if Martha ended up choosing that good looking horse that we saw at Cogi Farms, called Sasa?

Follow me, Sharkey. Let's have a look in the horse stalls to see if there's a new addition.

Ah-ha!!! Well, well, well - if it isn't Sasa! It's good to see your friendly face in the stable! What do you think of your new home at our farm?

Well, Sharkey, it's good to see you, too. Let me put it to you this way - so far, this is a very nice place to be. I was even pedicured and fitted for a brand new set of shoes!

And the hay? Why it's just gourmet!

Wow, Sasa, I'm glad that you're so happy here. You've probably deduced by now that Martha's farm is a swell place for animals to live.

Hey there, Sasa! So, when do you think you can take us for a little ride?

Well, Franny, I've been fitted for a human saddle, but I haven't seen one for Frenchies, yet. Now there's an idea! A tandem saddle for French Bulldogs! I'll ask Betsy to call the saddle-maker!

  • I love how you two are Martha's official Ambassadors to greet new pals to the farm. Sasa looks right at home as if he's been there forever. It seems like horses adapt better to new buddies than...

I think your brother GK is shirking his responsibilities. Why wasn't he there to greet Sasa as well hmmmm? Then again, he's still a not so little puppy boy so he's probably running around the farm in the cool air. Have a happy, safe weekend everyone!

  • Hi sweetiies, you are looking so cute and adorable.
    muaaaaa

  • Hello Ladies,
Well, aren't the two of you just the best welcoming committee?? I think so. Sasa seems so wonderful, and you can see already she loves the food and her new friends, the Frenchies. You two are much braver than I, because I would be afraid to ride a horse. The only heights I enjoy are those on the back of a couch.LOL!!!! Everyone take care and keep warm and have a great weekend.

    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • P.S. Thank you Delia for checking on poinsettias for us. You are not just sweet, but super smart. Hugs to you, Basil and LYnn

  • Good Morning Girls

Wow that Sasa is a real beauty. I have to say I think Friesian's are the most beautiful horses, they look majestic. Welcome to the farm Sasa!!!

Yesterday we had our first snowfall of the year, just an inch but it caused all kinds of traffic problems, the roads were very icy. I was happy when my mom got home from work I worry about her driving on ice coated roads.

So this weekend we are going to bake I'm very excited. I unrapped another present yesterday and got in trouble so now I'm not allowed upstairs unless I'm with mom. Oh and the present wasn't for me :(

Have a great weekend my friends, stay warm and safe. This time next week with be Christmas Eve and Santa comes :) !!!!!!

  • Hi girls what a pretty horse ! You have so much room for all your buddies! We're running out of space quickly in our house , with Ziggy back. You girls are so lucky! Your friend Rocky Ps Soyna How do you like having one of my kind at your house or has your grand shih tzu left!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Good to see another horse on the farm. I don’t eat hay; didn’t know that there was a “gourmet” kind. Where does that kind come from anyway? I guess when I travel to the New England States I’ll find some of it. Who turned off the winter? It was 64 degrees at my house yesterday; will be almost as warm again today. I guess that the folks up north are having a time with the ice and snow. It’s weekend already so stay safe everyone. See you next week.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Precious, Precious, Precious!!! You girls are so great at greeting new members of the family at Martha's fantastic farm! Sasa looks so happy to be there and won't it be fun to take a ride on him when Betsy gets the new saddle! Your photos of the stable area are stunning and it's so easy to tell how much fun you two had visiting with Sasa! Have a terrific weekend and be sure to hug Kevin Sharkey when he comes there for his Birthday dinner on Saturday! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Oh my heart be still...Sasa you are gorgeous! You indeed have a wonderful home, as all the animals that live at the MS house-hold/barn/coop etc etc...yes, lucky indeed. Can't wait to see more of you, of course you know I'm a horse person and love Friesians, so am very happy to see and read more about you.
Sharkey and Francesca you guys are so sweet for Welcoming Sasa.

Hey Basil and Lynn, my pleasure... ;)

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: Welcome aboard Sasa. You sure are a beautiful horse. I am sure you will enjoy your life on the farm of Miss Martha. All the animals have such a great time and they have swell adventures too!

I am posting late today cause momma had to go shopping and she wanted to do that first instead of helping me with the typing. Hmmmph!!!!

It is rather warm today. Sort of strange. Momma and daddy saw the Old Navy commercial about fleece scarves on sale for $1 each... doesn't mean much to me but they said it figures if momma went and bought a bunch of them, then the weather would turn too warm to wear any of them.

Well, everyone have a great weekend. I'm going to have a sunbath. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Oh my! A new addition to the Martha Stewart household! It must be a full house!
I hope the other animals welcome their new addition! I wonder if Francesca and Sharkey will take rides from her.Welcome home Sasa!
