Being Tough at the Office

Posted by F&S

I’ve been scrolling back over all of the blogs that Franny and I posted this past year and I have to admit that life is just never dull for us Frenchies.  So much happens around the farm and we also blog about our adventures away from home.  Once again, Franny and I would like to share some of our favorite postings with you.  And please to all of our loyal blog readers!!!!  Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

We dogs had some important business issues to discuss with Martha.  Bedford is so laid back and we really wanted to be firm and make a strong point, so, we decided to go to Martha’s office for an official business meeting.  Martha has always said that if you want to be taken seriously, you have to be tough.

OK - Here we are at the company headquarters. Now we just have to figure out where Martha's office is and how to get there. This place is huge and confusing for us country pups.

  • F & S stand firm and do not accept anything less than what you asked for. Remember, not only are you working on your blog every day, supervising the work at the farm, keeping the horses, donkeys and chickens in line you now have to puppy sit G.K. not to mention the addition of two new furballs so I think that makes 6 cats now??? The two of you are the CAO (Chief Animal Officers) of MSLO and must be compensated accordingly. Do you need an agent I'm available.

Yesterday was a beautiful day I spent most of it laying on the chase lounge waiting for mom to return home from playing golf. I hate it when she takes off from work and does not spend her time with me I get very upset. So when she did get home I was at her side like a popsicle on a stick. I try to make her feel guilty but I don't think it works. I got even last night I snoored again very loud in her ear just so she knew I was there :)

  • hi Martha, i think dogs are that special they are God spelt backwards. i think he organised that, dont you? love your work Martha from the seedsman02 in australia

  • oh, I can see how tough you pups are!!! he he
and asking for a raise? surley you jest! living in splender as you do, what more can one ask...
GK you look awesome with that fluffy fur...and yes, F&S you both look adorable and so sweet tempered with all that head patting.
I went to the Library and there was a box with Free books and magazines, and to my pleasant surprise I got 3 back issues of Living, boy was I happy!
Right now Kitty is watching the Fox and her 5 pups(or what ever they are called)they're playing in the backyard running, jumping and yipping, it's too cute...but Kitty knows not to go down and interfere.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Yes I know how hard it is being a celebrity. When I was at Pigeon Forge for 10 days, mamma and daddy took me for walks around the park. People were always stopping me just to feel my soft fur. It usually went so, “What a good looking dog; can I pet him?” Every once in a while someone who reads your blog would recognize my name. Some even thought that I was cutter than GK. Daddy said that talk like that would just make my head swell; whatever that means. Let’s see now, Oh yeah it’s nap time.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi famous pups,
That was nice of you to include G.K. in the negotiations for a treat raise considering he hasn't done half of what you two have accomplished. I bet that caring act alone will get the three of you all that you want. I see Martha has a new office chair on wheels this time. I think I remember a white one that didn't look very comfortable. Well, let us know how much of a raise you got although I have a hunch you get plenty of treats already!

  • Hello Ladies,
You are both so professional and have such good manners. You approached the raise thing quite well. I most definitely agree with Zoe that your responsibilities have increased alot. We all know that little/big G.K. is a puppy handful and those furball cats have to be watched constantly. Remember the election rigging? You have definitely earned a much needed raise. Also, Mama Martha needs to bring the three or maybe leave G.K. at home and give you girls a break and have the two of you on her show more often. We look forward to the days the two of you are on and when she does any crafts. We love, love, love those days. You girls stand strong and settle for nothing other than what you were asking for--I know you'll get it--you've earned it.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • They are so damn cute!

  • Hey guys Tallulah here. Now lets get serious you guys do not need a raise you should be thanking Martha for giving you such a beautiful home and tons of people to spoil you!!!

  • What Zoe said! I like that you brought GK along. Very important that the three of you present a unified front. (look what it did for the cast of "Friends").

Of course it would be unbelievably funny if negotiations broke down and you all staged a walkout. The thought of the three of you marching around the farm holding up picket signs would be worth it.

  • Hi Girl Friends and GK, It sure looks like you had fun visiting Martha's office. Did you get your treat raise?! I sure hope so because I think you all deserve it. My Mom commented to Martha and told her that all of you deserve a treat raise. Sometimes you have to do extra things to get noticed. Let me know what you got so I can work on my Mom to get extra treats. Love ya lots, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Well, did Martha fork over the treats, or what? After wooing her with the daffodils, didn't she feel compelled to give you a raise? My Mom said to ask if Martha offered you stock options in Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) as a fringe benefit? Hmmm...let me know, o.k.? Bye.

  • Happy 2011 New Year everyone!

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., How fun to see these great photos of the three of you again from eight months ago! You all look so cute and G.K. looks alot smaller than he is today! How are you doing with that big snow storm there at the farm?! I'll bet it's not fun going outside in that freezing deep blowing snow. Stay warm! Love. Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
