A New Friesian for the Farm?

Posted by Francesca

We, dogs, have been hearing Martha talking to Betsy about the possibility of getting another horse to take beloved Martyn’s place, may he forever rest in peace.  We decided to help with the search, so we trotted (no pun intended) over to Cogi Farm where, we were told, there might be a Friesian for sale.

Alright comrades! This seems like the perfect place to find a horse. The sign indicates, after all, that there are horses here.

Well, here's a very impressive stable and it certainly smells a lot like horses, but I don't see any Friesians in here.

Hmmm - This is most curious. Where could that Friesian be?

Sharkey! G.K! Turn around! There's quite a good looking fellow over yonder.

Doesn't he remind you of Martha's Friesians?

In fact, he seems to have many similar characteristics.

Hey! How did Martha and Betsy get here? It looks like they're interested in that very same horse. He certainly is handsome and he appears comfortable to ride. Perhaps he'll soon be trotting along the carriage roads in Bedford! STAY TUNED.....

  • Good Morning F & S

My mom is home - YAHOO!!!! I don't know how the two of you can take your mom going on so many trips I missed her so much. We all went crazy when she walked in the door Saturday night - I'm so glad she is home :) I sat her down yesterday and told her she can't be away for more than a week, I needed to implement some travel rules this is getting out of hand.

So you are getting a new addition to the farm, he sure is a handsome big boy. Are horses like dogs and cats do you have to slowly introduce them to the others or will they accept him right away?

I'm so excited Christmas is right around the corner and there are presents with my name on them. In fact I thought this big box was for me so I chewed off the wrapping paper. Mom was not happy with me it was for someone else. I'm not allowed in the guest bedroom any more because I keep chewing the wrapping paper off the gifts ;)

Basil how are you feeling still taking your meds? I hope all my friends are well here at the Daily Wag I missed everyone!!

    Zoe

  • A new addition to the farm is certainly exciting, and that is a beautiful horse, but I'm a little disappointed that Martha didn't decide to adopt a horse. There are so many out there who need good homes and who would just love to go live at Bedford!

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
G.K. still looks a little confused on you girls' missions, but he is getting the hang of things with your guidance. How wonderful that Mama Martha is getting a new horse. I am interested like Zoe, in knowing how the new horse meets the others. You girls better start thinking of a new good name for a horse.

I am so glad you are back Zoe. I missed you lots, especially around the holidays, and this is my first year without my buddy, Tasha. I am taking my meds (so many pills, Mom has an organizer for each day for me) and have a check up with my neurologist on Dec. 27th. Speaking of missing friends....Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow are you doing o.k.? I miss when I don't hear from you. I am so glad that Kirby Bear is back with the gang too. When his Dad was gone, I missed him. We should all be together here for the holidays I think.

    Have a great MOnday all!!!!

    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It’s another week and things are really happening around here; and I don’t mean Christmas. It is really cold this morning at 26 degrees and a strong wind gusting up to around 35. That makes the “wind chill” close to zero. Mommy and Daddy said it’s too cold for them; they are not in their 20’s. I guess I will have to get my walk in when the wind dies down a little. You three seem to be a little late in checking out the horse; Martha is way ahead of you. Martha has a black dog, a white dog and a really handsome dog; why another black horse? Just wondering.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Oh you two Frenchies just crack me up! you say, Doesn't he remind you of Martha's Friesians? It's kind of hard to differentiate Friesians, they are tall black and have feathers on their fetlocks...but I guess the ones mommie Martha buys are better quality then some out there...oh how I envy her, another horse to ride and love...what good pups you are to check them out with Betsy...can't wait to see the one you chose!
Zoe I'm so happy for you that your mom is back and that you are also back hereon DW...and to all our daily friends here, take care and have a Great Safe Holiday.

  • Hello Francesca and Sharkey and GK: That sure is a big horse. He will make friends really fast and have a good long life at Miss Martha's.

Yesterday momma and daddy took me to PetSmart and I got my picture taken with Santa Claws. It was fun and there were a whole bunch of other puppies there too. We all said hello to each other. Three pictures were taken of me and Santa, and momma chose the one of me kissing Santa. It was really cute and then they bought me some Beggin Strips and liver treats. I had so much fun there that when I got home I just had to have a long nap. So exhausting.....

Welcome back Zoe! Missed you. Did your mom bring you some presents too? Hope she listens to your new travel rules cause I know you miss her very much when she is not at home.

Well it is time for a snack. Happy Monday everyone. Oh, I will be getting my special grooming spa treatment next Sunday at PetSmart. Along with a good shampoo and a brushing, they will put Christmas scent on me too. I am so excited. Santa said he would bring me lots of stuff for Christmas. I can hardly wait. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., I still miss handsome Martyn and I'm sure he would love to have a new friesian join the others there at Martha's farm where he had a wonderful life. The three of you must have had a great time finding that new handsome fellow there at Cogi Farm and low and behold, there was Martha and Betsy checking him out. I'll bet she will bring him to the farm to join all the rest of you lucky animals there at her farm. Let us know! Is today your birthday, Francesca? I read your tweet on Twitter and was surprised because I thought you already celebrated your birthday! Let us know! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • So nice to see the three of you hanging out together and checking out the new Friesian horse. He certainly is a beautiful boy. Count me in as someone else who wonders how the other boys will welcome their new companion.

Welcome back Zoe! I'm sure your Mom knew she was home again as soon as you started chewing up the wrapping. Graycn Erwin, glad your Dad is feeling better and you're going to get a sweet grooming spa at Petsmart.

I hope all of our DW buddies are doing well too!
