How we Helped the Canaries

Posted by Francesca

Sharkey and I hadn’t been to see the canaries for a couple of days so we went to pay a visit to those mellifluous little creatures.  When we got to their rather palatial cage, we were puzzled as to why they were all huddled at the top.  On further inspection, we discovered exactly what was wrong.  Frenchies to the rescue!

Sharkey, let's have a visit with our feathered friends, the melodious canaries.

Well, I wonder why they're all perched up so high? This cage is enormous and there's plenty of room in there for the canaries to be more scattered.

OMG! I think I see what may be the problem!

Oh, little bird! You creatures are tiny but you sure can make a big, big mess!

Francesca! This nesting material receptacle is coated with bird poop! No wonder the canaries are huddled at the top.

Sharkey, we need to help our friends. I mean look at what they are living with! Obviously, they are confined and cannot go elsewhere to do, you know what.

I have just the thing! POOP-OFF!

Poop-off is a bird poop remover that instantly dissolves bird droppings! Brilliant!

Now, let's inspect. By golly, I think we got everything! Looks good as new and smells good, too.

  • Ha ha ha, one of your funniest blogs yet! "Mellifluous" Francesca? Had to look that one up.

Franny your eyes were shockingly wide after you discovered the canaries living in a 'cage of squalor' good thing you and Sharkey were there to clean up their business. Hey, I thought GK was good buddies with the canaries too. Hmmmm...he was MIA again.

Basil, glad to hear that you're doing better. Keep up with that medicine so you'll be strong and healthy again.

  • F & S cleaning bird poop? I'm confused they poop all the time why would they stay at the top of the cage because a little poop got on the nesting dispenser? And so what if a little poop got on the bottom of the cage does someone really catch every turd so they don't get their little feet dirty? Dumb birds. Open the cage let the cats clean up the poop and maybe a bird or two as well ;)

I should buy some Poop Off for when those wild turkeys come back they drop turds bigger than mine! We would need industrial strength for the Labs they do really big poops.

It's a rainy day here in South Jersey the kind that makes you want to catch up on your beauty sleep. I think there are several naps in my future. I'm going to get mom off to work she has a meeting 2 hours away, poor mom, then I'm going back to bed.

  • Hello Ladies,
You ladies are ever industrious, cleaning the canary's cage. Mama Martha is lucky to have you to help out, especially before Thanksgiving when guests will probably be arriving. Those furballs would just eat the canaries, not help. Once again, we Frenchies are worth our weight in gold.

I am headed to nap now as I hear a repair person for the brand new stove is coming today and I need to be prepared for defense duty. Can you believe the stove power cord burnt up? Mom and Dad are really mad at this situation--right before people are coming for Thanksgiving dinner. I will let you know how this saga ends.

    Have a great Tuesday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., You Frenchies are absolutely the best when it comes to helping your friends there at the Bedford farm! How nice that you checked on the beautiful canaries and discovered that something was wrong and then went to work to solve the problem! Those canaries must have been thrilled! Where did you find that terrific 'Poop-off'?! We sure could use some to get rid of all bird poop on Mom's truck, etc. Thanks for sharing this information. Hope everyone is well and having a great day! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Oh now you two are "Bird Dogs!" what don't you do?
I love these MS canaries, I love the cage and all the great stuff that I have never seen before, like the string holder.
My canaries used to take our curtains apart when I let them out and used the thread for their nest.
The last canary I had was given to me after a Play finished and no one wanted the bird, it was the ugliest canary I have ever seen, but loved it dearly as it became very tame and sat on my finger. Unfortunately something happened to it, becoming sick, and after many Vet visits and mucho $$$ the poor dear died in my hands...I was so heart broken...so even a little bird can be a pet for your heart.

  • OMG I am so in love with you two!

    Everyone poops! :)

Take my word for it, don't do any investigative work!

    Love you,

    gail

p.s. I bet the persnickety fur balls are party 'poopers'. :)

  • That "Poop Off" is a God send! It works wonderfully on all sorts of surfaces plus it's very safe product. I can't live without my "Poop Off"!

  • The pictures of the birds are beautiful, amazing color! I bet the noise was quite special too :)

  • F & S: Thanks for reporting on the canaries. They do not get their fair share of air time. How about a special report on the TV show about your beautiful friends!
