Dog Hair on the Carpet?

Posted by F&S

We Frenchies were napping in the kitchen the other day, when we heard a lot of complaining coming from the other room.  Can you believe that the cats were actually whining that our hair was on the carpets?  Hello?  We live in the kitchen!  How could our hair be on the carpets when we’re hardly ever allowed in those rooms?  Perhaps we need a little crime scene investigation.  Hey!  Now there’s an idea!  We'll just prove it to those hairballs!

Hey, fellow felines - this floor is covered with dog hair and you know how I'm allergic to those ghastly creatures!

Well Vivaldi, we certainly can't let you go into anaphylactic shock.

That's right, Vivaldi. I, Verdi, will start pondering this dilemma.

Have no fear - I think Empress Tang has come up with something.

I'll just turn it the other way, then!

The carpet is finally dog hair free, now, we cats can stretch out and take a nice long nap without sneezing!

  • Now we're talking ladies. I've had this idea for a while: PSI: Paw Scene Investigation. I think it would make for an excellent second webisode adventure. Tweet me, we can chat the story line over coffee and dog biscuits.

Those darn furballs sure do stick together don't they? They're so sneaky I bet they take your fur from your bedding when you're looking and plant it in the other rooms!

Hi Basil, my fingers are still crossed for good news about your MRI.

  • Good Morning F & S

Please tell me I didn't read your blog properly, did you say you have to live in the kitchen while those furballs have free access to the house? Say it isn't so!! That is just so unfair and who may I ask made up that rule? I think you need a meeting with Martha and put your paw down - I think that is horrible. My mom and dad consider us all part of the family which means we go where the family goes. And yes you get a little hair but that is what they created the vacuum for - picking up pet hair - hello !!!

So I got in a little trouble over the weekend but it wasn't my fault. My dad loves to roast chestnuts this time of year, he has them almost every night. He sprinkles them with salt and continues to leave the salt shaker on the end table. Mom gets furious because he dosen't clean up his mess. Well Friday night he had chestnuts and then Saturday morning Mom ran out to the store and when she came home Dad's reading glasses were all chewed up :( ) I must have knocked them off the table as I was trying to get the salt shaker and I'm not saying who chewed them up but they were destroyed.

So Dad has to go buy new glasses because unlike mom he only has one pair. We could chew a pair of glasses for the next month and mom would never run out. She has a problem with shoes and glasses but we'll save that topic for another time.

Well my breakfast is waiting - have a great day.

    Zoe

  • Hello Ladies,
I'm back!!! And glad to be back at the blog desk. Last week wasn't the easiest for me, or any of the family for that matter, but it all ended up with good news---well, kind of. I'll tell you about me in a minute, I have to address the fact that Frenchies are not allowed in the house, but goofy, sneaky furballs are allowed in the house. I think that is terrible and we should all get a petition to Mama Martha to let our friends free. That probably would not get us very far, I guess. I think the big trade off is that the dogs get to go alot with Uncle Carlos to the studio and on errands and travel trips. The furballs have to stay home for all that, and besides, being in the kitchen is where I do like to spend alot of my time. It can have its upside.

Back to my MRI. You see at a year old they diagnosed me with cronic sinuitis. I have been on serious meds for many years. Because of that, my middle ear has much infection, along with the area around it, bone mainly. Humans can put in tubes in their ears, but we dogs have any "L" shape tube that leads to our middle ear. That is why my neck was swollen and my eye bulged out.I heard Mom and Dr. Lane talking and I am on very strong medication for now and then smaller doses forever to try and get the "gunk" out of my head. I can't hear too well these days, but I heard the doctor saying something about a surgery and Mom said "NO" to that one. I guess they would remove my middle ear and some bone. It isn't the easiest surgery and is a last resort for someday. But for now I am responding to the medication and it is getting better. Mom put water dishes all over the house because I am supposed to drink lots of it. That is fun, to have a water dish wherever you walk. I am in good hands and at least it wasn't a tumor. You all take care and have a great Monday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • You Gatos are all over the kitchen and you kvetsh about hair on the carpet??? na mensch!

I think Miele is gorgeous, not that the rest of you Gatos aren't, but Miele is very purrrdy!

It's nice to see you all helping out, just make sure all YOUR long hair is off the counter areas.

I'm so impressed with all the beautiful Gatos in the MS house...
    love you all...meuuw Kitty

  • Good morning kitties: Gosh, I didn't know kitties could be so allergic to pup hair. My momma uses the noisy monster thing on the carpets in the house and gets all my hair out of it. That's right! Blame it all on me. I can't help it if my fur falls out especially in the summertime. She said she could knit a sweater from all the fur she gets up. Hmmmph! What an insult. Can you imagine such a thing????

My daddy has been to the doctor and that meant a trip, so I haven't written in a while. Momma said she would help me read all the days I missed. I love my momma very much.

Basil - So glad you are feeling better these days. I hope that all the "gunk" leaves your head quickly. My parents and I will say a prayer for you and we hope that you do not hurt. Make sure you take your medicine when you are supposed to. Paws crossed for you.

Well, it is time for my snack and a nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • hey girls , I know about the your room thing. We Shih Tzus don't shed. We just get sent out of the room because girls go into heat .I had to sneak in to talk today because pebbles went into heat so i must be quick or mom will send me back to the boys room! I'm so glad your doing a bit better Basil we were very worried. We'll take turns crossing paws so all goes well. your friend Rocky

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., First of all, I want to say I still have Basil in my prayers. So glad to hear you are improving and sure hope you get much better soon! Now, about Vivaldi, Verdi and Empress Tang. Hum, how is it that they can blame you for the hair on the rugs when you aren't allowed in the rug areas?! Yah, I guess you need to investigate what is going on with the cats. I love cats, but have never heard or seen them blame dogs for allergies. Very unusual. Well, hope you have a great day and find out what is going on! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • In our house, cats also have the living room rug all to themselves. Cats are not, however, allowed into the dogroom (HuMom calls it bedroom). We have our own cat-free rug and all access pass to the bed. Take that feline fiends.
