Verdi Supervises the Carpet Rotation

Posted by F&S

One day last week, Martha decided to work from home.  In between phone calls and writing assignments, she always looks around to see what needs to be taken care of.  Verdi, the cat, should have known better than to get all settled in for a nice long nap on his favorite perch in the dining room because Martha had big plans for rotating the carpet there.

Ahhh yes, it's a perfect afternoon to take a catnap.

Hey, what's going on? Why are Martha and Gyurme moving things off the table?

Hey, buddy! Put me down!

What's that Gyurme? You're rotating the carpet in the dining room? Well, why don't I just sit here on my favorite chair and be the director?

OK, Martha - You roll the carpet underneath the legs of the sideboard. Fernando and Gyurme - lift carefully straight up! Those are all really valuable antiques!

Bartok, make sure to spot them!

Bartok, where is Princess Peony? You know how she loves this kind of thing.

Why do they have to groom me all the time? Is it because I'm just so beautiful?

Hey Sanu, could you please be a little more gentle with that tangle?

Maria, why are you smiling so much? You know all this constant attention sometimes too much.

I wish I could escape and go upstairs. From the sounds coming from above, there's plenty of action going on.

  • It's Furball Friday! 'Bout time those cats did their fair share of the work around the house for a change. Empress Tang was playing the MIA game, you'll have to have a "chat" with her.

I hope everyone has a very fun but safe Halloween this Sunday. If you're lucky, you may get some pet-safe treats.

  • F & S I'm glad to see you didn't have to supervise that job. It looked like Mama Martha had everything under control. Oh that furball P.P. looked like she was really enjoying her grooming - ouch with those knots. I'm sure glad I have short hair it's bad enough getting a bath and nails cut I can't imagine having to get my hair yanked out.

Tonight is the annual Hayride/Bonfire that mom has for all her family and friends. I still can't understand why I'm not invited. She has all kinds of good food, apple cider donuts, smoores and the list goes on. But no I get stuck staying home.

I can't wait for Halloween on Sunday. I help mom give out the candy to the kids. I love to look at all the costumes, some are really cool. I bark at the scary ones I don't like those.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone - be safe :)

  • Nice to see the cats. Can you please give them their own blog?

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Don’t you just hate it when the “older folk” want to change things? You get all settled down for a nap, and “bang” things go astray. And then just when you think you are going to ignore what’s happening, again you are disturbed. Things shouldn’t happen to pets; not even a cat. Oh well, if Momma is happy, then I’m happy too. Saw the Halloween Costumes on the “tube” yesterday. You girls looked really good; but GK as a pumpkin didn’t seem right. He didn’t want that hat on his head at all. Same here; nothing over the ears please. We Chow Chows use our ears to keep in touch with what is around then. Happy Halloween everyone; have a good weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., How fun that you let your kittie friends(?) help Martha and her crew rotate that sisal rug! Verdi did a great job supervising the project with the help of Bartok and Vivaldi! It sure was fun to see Princess Peony being groomed. She sure was anxious to see what was going on upstairs. Love to see all of your animal friends there at the farm plus Martha and all of her friends there! Great photos again! Sure was fun seeing all three of you dogs on Martha's TV Show yesterday! You all looked soooo cute!!! Have a great weekend! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Kitty Cats: Congrats on a job well done! I just love kitties that can handle responsibility. I saw my red kitty friend in my front yard the other day and he wanted to know if he could sun bathe there occasionally. I told him he was welcome to stay as long as he wanted.

Hey Zoe - The kids in NC have to celebrate Halloween on Saturday cause momma said we are in the Bible Belt and no Halloween on Sunday. She said it has been that way for a very long time. I don't know about such things and anyway all the kids in our neighborhood have grown up sooooooo, no kids on Halloween and I can't go out for trick or treat either. Hmmmph!!!!

Everyone have a great weekend. I'm ready for a nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • How funny you guys are, you really rule the roost don't you? Love the grooming photos...hey I see mommie Martha also places towels on the chairs for you gatos, my mommie does the same...hmmm wonder if we should turn the rug, but those Antiques would have to come off before lifting the sideboard...that looked scary.
