Hey, Frenchies! Let Me In!

Posted by F&S

We Frenchies were in the kitchen the other day when Empress Tang came to the door looking agitated and terrified.  She was pleading with us to let her in and she even made some impressive promises.  We were happy to help keep her out of harms way, but we really should have known better than to believe a cat.

Francesca! Sharkey! I know that Princess Peony and I have done some very sly things to get you in trouble, but I really need to come inside now!

You see, I'm being stalked by a red-tailed hawk! It's really quite large, and I'm really scared!

Don't you know that red-tailed hawk are carnivorous, and they're very opportunistic feeders. You Frenchies may not fit this category, but their diets are mainly small mammals. Don't you see? That's cute, little me!!!

I really don't want to be lifted by those sharp talons and carried away only to be shredded to bits!

  • Sly, sly, kitty cat. Tell if she doesn't keep her promises to you, no more kitty hooch for her.

Sharkey sweetie I hope your paw is feeling much better. Basil, I hope your sinuses cleared up this weekend. Terri, what's the word on your missing baby? I hope that things have worked out now.

  • Oh indeed you are a Princess! that red-tailed hawk could never lift up a big fluff like you...big scaredy cat! cute pictures of your fluff face...

It was nice that you saved Empress Tang from the Hawk you can say that was your good deed for the day. Did you really think a furball would keep a promise??

Those Hawks are noisy birds, why do they insist on screaming like they do? Oh and so are those Blue Jays noisy suckers too!!

Well it was a beautiful weekend here in South Jersey. A bit depressing because the Phillies lost but at least the Yankees lost as well. Now I have to wait for Spring Training to come - 4 months and counting. I'm glad the Eagles lost I don't like them since they hired that dog killer. When Vick leaves I'll start to watch again.

I spent all weekend with mom, we enjoyed relaxing on the deck, mom was reading and I was soaking up the sun. You have to take advantage of these nice warm days because old man winter is right around the corner :( Why do they call it old man winter how do they know it's not a woman? F & S can you do some research on that one?

So can we get some health updates this morning? Sharkey how is the paw? Basil how is the sinus problem? I can report T-Bone is great his wound is healing nicely.

  • F&S, I have a great idea. When Empress Tang is asleep, shave the words "Take Me!" in the fur on her back. When she wakes up, chase her outside (don't worry, she is way too fat to be taken by the hawk). Give the fur ball a good scare!

  • Hello Ladies,
You should know by now to never trust that furball Tang--what, after the elections and her antics as of late. But at least you know you didn't let her get taken by the hawk. You did your good deed for the week. It certainly was an adventure at the doctor's on Friday. Mom has been very upset since, but trying not to let me see, but I am Basil Boy, I know and see all. The doctor did all the tests he could do on Friday and I am on some really, really big time meds. Until they do an MRI they are not exactly sure what is the problem with me. They did rule out sinus infection and pnuemonia. By the time I got to the doctor's, Mom and Dad said I looked like I should be in Halloween movie. My right eye was bulging and really red. The eye doctor said no infection in the eye either. Mom thought it could be pink eye from my sinuses. Dogs don't get that too easily the doctor said. My third eyelid was really inflamed. I didn't even know I had a third eyelid. The doctor said when I am a little stronger after being on the meds in a week or so he and my neurologist will do an MRI. What it boils down to is there is something behind the eye that is causing my eye to bulg and my hearing has gotten very poor in the last few months. The meds have already helped me hear better and no one can call me pop-eye anymore. The docotor said that the tissue around my sinuses from so many years of infection could have infection or a tumor. Anyway you look at it now, I am doing much better on the meds and we are all thinking positive for when I have an MRI soon. Sharkey, you need to update us on your paw. Zoe, give T-Bone a high five for me. Take care all and have a good Monday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Watch out for those big birds who catch small animals. One just might try a cat. Before me, Mommy and Daddy had a Chow Chow named Kody. He had his own cat named Basil. One day Basil went missing. When asked what happened to Basil, Kody ran to the chair in the back yard, placed his feet on the arm and looked into the sky. He did this for days every time he was asked about Basil. We have some really big owls around here and it looked like one of them took Basil. Basil would sit on the arm of the chair early in the mornings trying to catch the doves which came into the yard each day. Some days you get the bird; other days the bird gets you.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi everybody: When I first read this I thought, oh no, poor ET and then discovered she went back on her promises. Oh well, what difference does that make? She is safe inside the house now. That is the best thing to do for her. I love kitties.

Gosh Basil, hope your eyes get better really soon and your sinuses too. My momma would be really upset too if that happened to me.

Sharkey, I hope your paw gets better soon too.

I have to go now. Daddy has to go to the doctor here in town. Momma has to go to the store to buy cheese. She is gonna make italian for dinner tonight. I know she will give me a little of that when she gets home.

Happy Monday everybody. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi girls, good thing you did for the kitty,My mom doesn't let the puppy's outside until their big enough, because of the birds. Thanks for the warning hopefully they won't fly to our valley! No word yet on Lily. Basil my prayers are with you ,I'm glad the meds are helping. Mine help me. But I only have arthitis. Sharky tell us how your paw is! Your friend Rocky

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., I love kitties and I'm aware that sometimes they do things that you don't like, but you have to remember that they still think they are alpha over everyone. Little Empress Tang is a real devil who you never know if you should trust her or not. I'm glad you saved her from the red hawk because loosing her would be horrible. Next time she does something that might affect her life, be sure to help her out. You are good dogs and I love you very much and I love your kitties, too. Hope all of you have a great day. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Oh Basil that certainly is quite a weekend for you. I'm glad that you are feeling better from the meds. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts that the meds and the MRI will get to the bottom of what's causing you problems.

Zoe, good to know that T-Bone is healing well and sounds like he's almost 100% again.

  • What a class A stinker she is!

Well, with Christmas only 2 months away, you can be sure "Santa Paws" will be checking his list twice this year!

    love ya,
    gail

  • That cute little face at the window...so adorable! I knew a little cat once that had been picked up by an eagle, he managed to escape, but had terrible claw marks. I've been scared for my kitties ever since.
