Helping Our Friends, the Donkeys

Posted by Sharkey

Francesca and I were running around the farm the other day when we heard our names being called.  Our pals, Clive, Rufus, and Billy were asking for our help.  It seems they were hungry for a snack.

Well, it's like this - Do you see those trees behind you? They're apple trees and they're laden with our favorite snack. The problem is, we just can't get to them.

  • Aren't you two just the best to help your donkey buddies get a snack. Where was GK to help out? He loves the donkeys too and I bet he would have loved giving his pals some apples.

I love the "up close and personal" photos of Rufus, Clive, & Billie. Picture #2 of you ladies is so full of innocence and mischief at the same time. Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Good Morning F & S

Those donkeys are right apples are wonderful, mom gives me slices all the time. She said they are good for me plus they taste yummy. She even buys us the freeze dried apples but there is nothing better then a fresh juicy apple. In fact we have apples being shipped to us today. My Aunt Cheryl lives out in Hood River Oregon and they have an apple and pear orchard. She picked yesterday and overnights us a big box, can't wait till it arrives.

So any fun plans for the weekend? I hope Martha will be around to spend lots of time with you girls. I'm happy my mom will be home all weekend. Of course she is going to the Phillies game tonight but I'll be home watching with dad. Did you see my picture I posted on your Halloween Contest? I decided to be Roy Halladay - I just love him. I have my jersey and Phillies scarf with my blue eyes. Know why they are blue? I just at a Yankee in fact I think it was A-Rod ;)

Have a great weekend everyone - GO PHILLIES !!!!

  • F&S - the photo of you looking up is wonderful. You two are very pretty ladies.

  • Hello Ladies,
You are both so generous in helping the donkeys. All the photos are especially good today. Those of the donkeys up close are really good. G.K. should have been helping you. He is a bit taller and could really help. Mom showed me his photo on the dual front of the Living Magazine and he looks very good, as I said before. That blue tongue--do all chow chows have a blue tongue? Kirby Bear and Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow are your tongues blue? I think that is really cool--like you have been eating a blue lollipop. Have they been that way since the beginning of time?

Everyone have a good weekend. Dad is finishing up the last thing on the kitchen before we paint. He is doing a skylight. Been working on that a couple of weeks. It is looking good. Going to go rest now as I was a bit under the weather during the night with an upset tummy. Too many apples I think.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Oh this was too funny...thanks for the good laugh!

    donkett! ass! and HHHEEE-HHHAAWW!

I took a ride through the woods Wednesday and saw many wild Apple trees, a real treat for the wild critters...a bumper crop this year with all the rain and warmth.

  • hi girls, Great the rain stopped so you could get out to see the donkeys. We're pretty happy too!The rest of you guys ,how about you tell me you're stories of how you got to your moms and where you came from first,I'd love to hear! Graham Cracker also How did you get your names my mom is Toasted Marshmellow and my dad is Coal ,so of course we were the Smore's litter.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Feeding the donkeys a snack is a great idea. Too bad they had to ask you for help. Now if I had a donkey, I would give it snacks all the time and it would not have to ask. I get snacks all the time; Daddy says too many. I keep looking for that “jackass” Mama says is living next door. Still haven’t seen him yet, but I keep looking. Yes, my tongue is dark blue/purple; almost black. The color of a Chow Chow’s tongue is what shows that it is a Chow Chow. Have a good weekend all; "donkeys" included.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., The weather in your area sure does look nice. Wish I was there helping you get those delicious apples for Clive, Rufus and Billie. You are so thoughtful to your wonderful donkey friends and it's easy to see how appreciative they were. My Mom shares an apple with me all the time and I love them, too. These photos were absolutely superb! Will you three be in Martha's Halloween Special Show on the Hallmark Channel Home on Sunday @9PM?! Sure hope so! Can't wait to see it! Have a great weekend everybody! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Move over Johnny Appleseed!

What handy helpers you are girls.

How about gathering some more apples and lending a hand in Martha's kitchen and whip up Apple Brown Donkey's... oops I mean Betty.

    Hee Haw!
