Dreaming At Skylands

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

The last time I was at Skylands with Martha, I found a nice cool place to take a nap.  It was out on the granite terrace overlooking beautiful Seal Harbor.  The stones felt so cool through my thick fur and I soon drifted off into a dream-filled sleep.

Wow! I just had the most amazing dream!

I was being whisked away by Martha in the Skylands van.

And then we went on an inflatable dingy, or as Martha puts it - access to excess.

Then Bryan, the property manager lifted me out.

And put me right on board Martha's Hinkley picnic boat!

We motored to a remote island where the passengers got off and had a picnic lunch.

Since I was also a passenger, I ate my fill, as well.

I did a little beach combing. I love the smell of salty shells.

And that ocean breeze sure tastes good on my black chow tongue.

Hey, wait! Was that just a dream? It seems so real.

  • Shades of Dallas' Bobby in the shower dream sequence there GK. You certainly do get more handsome each time I see you. I like the way you dream-beautiful boat sailing, yummy picnics on remote islands...zzzzz!

Awww to the sad faces on Franny and Sharkey over on MommyMartha's blog. She's off in Stockholm, Sweden and I've never seen you girls look so sad. A little mischief farm making with GK should put the sparkle back in your eyes.

I hope everyone has a fun, safe, Labor day weekend. Sending good thoughts along the way to our sick blogger buddies like feral Kitty. Get better soon.

  • G.K. were you in the catnip again? I guess you think that's for you since you are considered a furball as well. I'm sure you were not dreaming or you would be thinking about chasing skunks or cats, something fun. Sorry to say but your dream was real all part of being in "Martha's World" you're a lucky dog.

So it's Friday and all I hear about is Earl who is suppose to be showing up at our beach today then heading North up the coast. Mom is worried about Earl, I've never met this Earl so I'm not sure why. I'm going to have to do some investigating and find out if Earl ever hurt my moma, if so all I can say is look out Earl - you'll have to answer to fearless Zoe ;(

I'm looking forward to the long weekend the weather is suppose to be really nice and my mom has no plans so that means lots of time with me :)

Have a wonderful holiday weekend everyone and be safe.

    Zoe

  • Dear G.K. and Ladies,
Well G.K. and girls, Mama is off to Sweden and you guys are left to dream and be sad. The only consolation is that you get to go everywhere when she is home. I hope she won't be gone too long. Maybe all of you can have a Labor Day picnic with the donkeys and horses and chickens and turkeys. I think you could all have a wonderous time and Mom would never find out. LOL!!!!!

I hope everyone is going to be o.k. from that Earl and has a great holiday weekend.Dad is finishing up the kitchen cabinets for Mom and she is canning dill pickles and hopefully I will be able to cuddle lots with everyone.

    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
And hello to you too GK. I often have dreams too that seem so real. Mommy tells me all the time how I was running really fast; says my feet were really moving. I love chasing cats and that’s what I do best. Well on second thought, squirrels is what I really chase. Most cats stay out side of my fenced in area. Earl was afraid to come around here, he kept to the east. Had a cool breeze yesterday with the temps only reaching 92 degrees. Have a good and safe weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • What special photos, especially seeing how Martha shares her experiences with others, not only her beloved pets...

Good news about kitty, she is responding to the antibiotics...this is great!

Thank You so much for your kind thoughts and prayers...we are small in number here, but kindred spirits in the love of our pets...thanks again from Kitty and me delia.

I added some photos to my Kitty web-page if interested just click on my "from" name delia.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Holiday, to my friends here and for MS, her pets and crew.

  • These photos today sure do showcase your cute face.

  • Hi Little GK: Sorry it was just a pup dream. It would have been great if it was real. What an adventure!

Speaking of adventures - Earl wasn't so bad after all. The rain hit us when we all slept in our big bed. Hardly any wind at all. We were all snuggly and comfortable. Momma and I slept right through it. No problemo! Daddy woke up a couple of times. It was just light rain, he said. There was no thunder and lightning at all. Momma said that was good.

Daddy is feeling better this morning. He was cheerful and his eye wasn't so swollen. He is happy he is retired and knows that these doctor trips to Greenville will be over soon. Thank goodness, cause I get so exhausted from watching him every moment like momma requested of me while she is at work, and making sure he doesn't do too much in the house.

Well, happy weekend everyone. I'm up for a nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi G.K., Wow, in photos #1&10, you sure do look like you're dreaming! The only thing missing is seeing your eyes flipping and your legs moving. If you did go on that fun outing with Martha, I'll bet you had a great time! Where were your sisters?! Bet they would have had fun, also. You sure do look more and more handsome in every new photo that you share! Can't wait to see the next ones. Hope you have a good Labor Day weekend and I'm sure you and the girls will be anxious for Martha to come back home soon. Take care my wonderful friends. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
