Weeds, Weeds, and More Weeds

Posted by Sharkey

It’s been raining a good deal around the farm and you know that with rain, comes weeds.  The guys have been working really hard cleaning up after that crazy twister blew over so many trees.  When I saw them weeding around the house, I told Franny that we should really help them with their chores.  I always feel good taking on some of the burden.

Hey Gyurme, it seems as though with all the recent rain, the weeds are growing like crazy!

These look pretty and ornamental, but they do need some thinning. We wouldn't want them to cover the patio.

With all these weeds, I bet this bucket will be filled in no time at all!

Wilmer! Why are your hands so red? Is it from pulling so many weeds? Oh, I see! You have rubber coated gloves on. They give you better grip and help to keep moisture out. I like them!

Weeding sure helps to pass the THYME! Get it?? This thyme really smells good!

While we're at it, I'll just reach through the teucrium with these shears and trim up the little boxwoods.

Hi Shaun - I'm done pruning the boxwood, no let me give you a paw here in this garden.

Oh my! I caught an earth worm! I didn't mean to disturb you, little guy. I'll just put you back into the soil. Shaun tells me that you are good for the garden. You help to fertilize and aerate.

  • Good Morning F & S

This is a very sad day at the Daily Wag. I see that our friend Basil lost his best buddy Tasha last week. Basil I'm so sorry for your loss but I know Tasha is in a better place right now. Hang in there and think of all the fun times you've had together.

Sharkey looks like Franny bailed and you got stuck doing all the weeding. Well you did a great job I'm sure Martha will be happy with the results.

I worked in the garden with mom all weekend. Our weeds are growing like crazy as well. Mom did half the vegetable garden but said her back was hurting and she'll finish the rest after work this week.

I don't think Sonja who blogs here believed all my T.P. adventures until she checked out my pictures on my facebook page. Yes Sonja I love to chew up the toilet paper - I wouldn't make up stories that is the best fun ever!!!

Well have a nice Monday everyone and Basil I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

    Zoe

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: Momma said there are more weeds on our lawn than there is grass. I don't know, they just taste good when my tummy is upset. I know there is more grass than weeds and that momma is just trying to fool me. Don't overwork yourselves ladies!

Basil - I am very sorry to hear that you lost little Tasha. You are right though. Bringing her outside for the smells and the breeze is a wonderful, good thing to do for her. You will see her again. Momma said that for a long time, she could hear her furbabies in the house even though they had gone to meet God and then play on the Rainbow Bridge. Your mom and dad are sad now. Please help them to feel better. You know what to do and in turn, they will help you feel better. It is so natural. Tasha would want this.

It is very hot and humid today. Every day in the mid to high 90's. I don't go out very much, just to do my business and get a little exercise.

Well, it is time for an early morning nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It looks as if you two are doing a good job of keeping the place clear of those weeds. Sharkey, you need to be careful with those big shears; they are almost as big as you are. I’m like you two; I like to help around the house. Well, school starts today here and I have been up early with all the noise outside. I don’t know why they run those school buses because so many mothers drive their children to school. I have to wait until the traffic dies down before taking my walk.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Sharkey you are such a mensch, oh I mean hundchen!! always helping...we also have had rain, rain, rain, and weeding is impossible with all the mosquitoes.

Kitty hurt herself or someone hurt her, she would not eat for days or move from a spot...I feed her soy yogurt with water in it to get her liquid in her body seems she would only eat the yogurt...today she is doing better...I am sooo happy!..........

A note with Sympathy from Kitty and delia.
Basil I'm so sorry for your loss of Tasha...she had a good and happy home with you guys.

  • Olla muchachas,
Rebel here...we haven't has as much rain in east central Illinois, but it has been hot so Mama says the crab grass loves it but we don't love it. We've been out working on the weeds, too!
    Hasta manana, Rebel

  • You do good work Sharky! :)

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., My dear Sharkey, you sure do a great job helping Wilmer, Gyurme and Shaun take care of getting rid of the weeds there at the farm. Sure is fun seeing how you use the garden tools and I'll bet you filled that bucket all by yourself! Kudos to you! Love Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+ PS My dear Basil, so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend, Tasha. My heart goes out to you and your family. Love, DDR & Jan

  • "Weeds sure help to pass the THYME get it?" Ba-dum-dum! Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I'll be here all week!" Oh Sharkey you are such a kidder.
Hmmm not only did Franny disappear but GK was missing in action as well. You'll have to have a chit chat with those to Sharkey.

Oh sweet Basil, I am so sorry to hear that your wonderful friend Tasha passed away. I was hoping that somehow she would pull through. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Just know that your friends here at the Daily Wag are here for you.

Gracyn, sending good thoughts out that everything will turn out fine for your daddy.
