Preparing to Leave for East Hampton
Posted by Sharkey
By the time you read this, Franny and I will already be in East Hampton with Martha for a fun-filled weekend. Before we left, we Frenchies had chores to do. Martha instructed us to go to the vegetable garden and pick lots of wonderful things to make healthy and delicious meals with. Picking most things is easy for us because we don’t have to bend down like people do.
Franny, Martha wants us to pick vegetables to take to East Hampton for the weekend. Let's pick a variety of things.
These green beans look great.
And I just love how yellow this squash is.
Sharkey, the cilantro is bright and bushy. Martha likes to add it to her healthy green juice mix.
The ruby Swiss chard will go nicely with tonight's dinner menu.
And so will a platter of sliced sweet tomatoes!
Sharkey, I'll pick some of these super sweet spoon tomatoes, which Martha loves to pop in her mouth!
And to go with all of those great tomatoes, I will pick lots and lots of fragrant basil.
Franny, don't bother to pick any of this corn because it's ornamental and it's for the autumn holidays. We'll buy sweet corn from a farm stand in Long Island, instead.
Wow, Franny! We sure picked a lot of great looking produce. And we packed it so nicely in coolers.
Look, Sharkey! There are even lots of fresh eggs, which I collected from the chicken coop. I have a feeling that this will be one delicious weekend.
Oh hi, Uncle Carlos. I'm all ready to go now.
Hey! Where's Uncle Carlos? I hope he didn't leave me behind.
Uncle Carlos!
Where is everybody?
Oh, there you are Uncle Carlos. I was afraid you forgot about me!
