A Walk in East Hampton

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

This past weekend, Francesca, Sharkey, and I had a great time with Martha in East Hampton.  The weather was spectacular and it is such a lovely place to go walking.  We three dogs were waiting for Martha, who proved to be a little late.  You know that patience is definitely a virtue.

Relax, Franny and Sharkey. Martha will be here soon. She promised to take us for a walk!

It looks like those Frenchies are tired of waiting. I guess they're off to the kitchen for a snack. Sharkey does look quite hungry.

Honestly, those Frenchies can be so impatient. We, chows, were bred to sit patiently and guard our master's home. They could certainly learn a lesson in doggedness! HA!!!!

Well, Martha - I am really proud to be walking down Lily Pond with you. However, I know how much Francesca and Sharkey wanted to go, so please, let's go back for them.

Our first dog encounter. What's that you're telling me? You say that you are what a bulldog should look like? I believe that Sharkey has a differing opinion! And personally, you look quite wrinkled to me. You know, wrinkle fillers are all the rage!

Whew! I'm glad we got away from that one unscathed! Walking on the beautiful beach with Martha, Susan, and Kevin is a much better way to go!

  • Now that's my kind of vacation - walking on the beach. GK, aren't you sweetie wanting to go back and pick up Franny & Sharkey to go walking. The Frenchie-English Bulldog impromptu convention looks very entertaining.

    Happy official Birthday Zoe!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I don't have much time this morning; daddy has to have his colon checked early. GK, it's good to see you out and getting about. I mean, not having those other two, whom I love very much, taging along. You have Martha all to yourself; well, just for a little while.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • I've never walked on the beach wonder what that sand feels like on your paws? I bet there is all kinds of stuff to chew on maybe I'll ask my mom to take me to the beach. Looks like you all had a great time.

Well today is my birthday I'm 5 years old. However last night I almost didn't make it to my 5th birthday because I wouldn't let dad get in bed with me and mom, not a smart move on my part. I was in "Pitbull" rage, why can't he sleep in another bed? I was so comfy with mom and here he comes. Mom had to carry me out while dad got in bed, I got a short time out because she was exhausted from a full day in New York. Anyway I survived the night and here I am waiting for presents.

  • G.K.,
If you had as much fun as your father did when he went running in the sand at Virginia Beach, you must have had a ball. You are getting to be quite the traveler, aren't you? I am so glad that the three of you look after each other. And, you look more handsome in each blog that you post.

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
I think you are growing up to be a fine gentleman G.K. Wanting the girls along on the walk is very sporting of you. You did good in the meeting with the English Bulldog. I don't do so good in those situations. Tasha taught me to always growl and protect Mom and Dad. I do that and then everyone gets their feathers ruffled and it's on. Looks like you weren't too hot on the walk either. Can't wait to see the three of you on Martha's new show this fall.
Happy #5 Zoe. You are just a spring chicken. I will be ten on Oct. 3rd this year. That is old.

Have a great day all.Off to my morning nap.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • what a nice place to be with mommie Martha...lucky dogs! GK your patience paid off, you got one on one with your mommie....love the Blue Gates!

    Happy Birthday Zoe!

  • Hi G.K., I am so happy to see that you were there in East Hampton with the rest of your family. For a while, I thought maybe you were left home on the farm to take care of things there. You certainly are a patient fellow and your sisters tend to get impatient if they have to wait too long for what they want. Like you say, maybe you can teach them to be more patient as time goes by. Good luck. Love your photos, especially the one of your walk with Martha down Lily Pond Lane. The beach photo of all of you is excellent, too. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
