Sharkey the electrician

Posted by Sharkey

Do you remember a recent blog when Franny and I told you about how a giant food pantry was moved from Martha's flower room and put in the basement? Obviously, the idea was to make room for something else but, what can that be?

What are these heavy gauge electrical wires doing outside the flower room?

Hmmm - and there are lots of tools.

Sharkey, remember when the guys were clearing out the flower room last week? This must have something to do with that project!

This drill case has the name 'Rob' written on it! That must mean that Rob the electrician is here doing some wiring!

Franny, I know about electricity. In fact, Martha always says that I have an electric personality.

Sharkey, you don't really think for one minute that an electric personality has anything to do with an electric current, do you?

Ha-ha! Got you with that one, Francesca! However, it's true that I have an innate sense about such things. I'll just help Rob out by fetching the multimeter to determine how much voltage these wires are delivering.

Rob's van is kind of cluttered.

Now, where can that multimeter be?

Rob, I failed the test - I just couldn't find the multimeter.

You're right, Rob! Electricity is nothing to take lightly. Only certified electricians should handle matters like these. I'll just sit here and watch you, instead.

  • Good Morning Girls
Good thing Martha wasn't around to see Rob's van she'd go crazy. That label maker would be working overtime and there would be clear containers all over the place organzing that mess - how in the world does he find anything??? He must be a good electrician to work at your house.

It's such a beautiful morning that humidty has finally left, at least for a few days. I'm looking forward to a day lounging in the sun. I've been staying in the cool house it was just way to hot out.

I was hoping to be outside most of the day but I heard mom on the phone giving the landscaper all kinds of hell, boy was she mad. He came here a few days ago and trimmed all the shrubs and trees and didn't do a very good job with the cleanup. Mom and Dad have been out picking up his mess and she finally flipped last night. He is coming this morning so I'm staying out of the way, my mom is a fanatic about the yard. If you are going to do a job do it right I heard her say - look out - mom's not a happy camper.

Hey I got an email from someone at MSO I was one of the finalist in the Patriotic Pet Contest - I was listed 9th. Can you believe I was behind 2 donkeys - what's up with that???

  • Hello Ladies,
Keep up the good work with all your helping in re-organizing things while Mama Martha is traveling. Rob is smart to advise all that only certified electricians should attempt to get involved in electrical matters.

As for me ladies and blog buddies it is with a heavy heart I am telling you about my dear buddy Tasha. Monday the doctor called with Tasha's biopsy results, and I knew something was up when Mom was crying and talking to the doctor. She then sat us all down and told us that it was cancer and had done something with an "m" that meant it was spread to the rest of her body. The good thing is the doctor said she is not in pain, and we will never let that happen. She is feeling really good, now off her pain meds, eating lots and lots, has the sparkle in her eyes and doing good. The doctor says this cancer from the spleen is very silent (which is good in a way) and she will be good for a short while. I am trying my best to keep her company at meals and sun-bathing and all her activities. My job is to keep her company and in the best spirits possible for the time she has with us. I can't even think of this time, it is so hard, I just have to be there for my Tasha girl in her last time. The doctor says no kemo can help this and she will be with us for only weeks, maybe a month. Mom and I do not leave her during the day. Mom just leaves when Dad is home to grocery shop etc. We love our dear Tasha. I must go now--tears are clouding my eyes.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: Hey, be real careful around electricity cause you don't want to get zapped or worse! I would just watch what the electrician is doing (from a distance).

Basil - How is Tasha doing these days? I hope she is feeling much better. Paws crossed for her.

It is very hot here and it is really going to storm this afternoon. But, I am safe in my house and daddy will be home soon. The storm is coming from the east from the ocean. Momma said it looked kinda surreal whatever that is supposed to mean.

Well, I think it is time for a nap. Walking with my dad in the heat wears me out. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
You two do know that lightning is electricity too don’t you? I hate lightning because it causes that loud boom. I would stay away from anything which is that powerful. I watch daddy work in his shop sometimes, and when he starts with the wiring I make a retreat. I know he knows what he is doing, but I don’t know, so I leave. I wonder why so many electricians are nicknamed “Sparkey?” It’s best that you just watch Rob from that chair, Sharkey. Hay, it cooled down yesterday only reaching into the high 90’s. Got to go now; nap time.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • oh my, my, my, now into Electrician work! what DON"T you two pups do? What you're not certified? no wonder you had to bring in Ron D'Amico(hey I know a D'Amico in NJ!)well you did learn and were good at helping, as usual...

  • So, GK has shown off his computer skills by giving us a tour of the computer room and now Sharkey you're demonstrating your electrical abilities. I wonder what Francesca's special talent will be? Since Rob was right to keep you away from the actual electricity Sharkey, maybe you can organize his messy truck for him.

Sweet little Basil, I'm so sorry about the news about Tasha. I know you are broken-hearted about your friend because you love her so much. I'm sure you will do your best to be a brave boy and make her remaining time as happy as possible. Your Mom and Dad need you too. I know it's a lot to ask of you, but I just know that you will be the emotional anchor your family needs right now.

  • Basil I just saw your message and I'm so sorry to hear about your Tasha. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Give her a big kiss from Zoe, Precious, T-Bone and Sophie and my mommie Ann. I'm so sad Basil I don't know what else to say.

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., It's so much fun to watch each one of you doing different things there on Martha's beautiful farm! Sharkey, you certainly do have an electric personallity and you are very intelligent in knowing that only electrictions should do the electrical work on the farm. What are they going to put in that empty place?! Sure hope you let us know soon! My Mom and I are sure enjoying reading all of your tweets on twitter! Keep up the great work!!! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+ PS Hey Basil, sorry to hear about Tasha. Hope she doesn't have any more pain. Love, DDR
