Sharkey is a Basket Case!

Posted by Francesca

Sharkey and I were enjoying the great outdoors when I decided to give squirrel chasing a rest and explore a little nearby building.  The contents were quite amazing and it got my wheels turning.  Of course, getting Sharkey to cooperate is another story.

I've always wondered what's kept in this little house, it has a lock on it so it must be important!

Luckily, I know a thing or two about picking locks!

If only Sharkey were here to play with me.

Hey Sharkey, stop chasing squirrels and come over here! I've got something great to show you!

Sharkey! I'm getting impatient!

Ha-ha-ha! Got-cha, Franny! I've been right here next to you the whole time!

Sorry Sharkey, but I've got to close the lid on you so I can think. You've just given me a brilliant idea!

I'll just drag this basket outside. Now, you stay in there and I'll wait in the bushes for a squirrel to come near. When I give two low woofs, you pop out and get the squirell!

Not yet, Sharkey! Oh brother! Would you just do as you're told, for once?

  • Good Morning F & S
Looks like you had lots of fun playing in the basket shed. I think you should post a sign out at the street BASKETS FOR SALE. Bet you could raise lots of cash maybe purchase some new bling and a few treats :) Martha wouldn't even know they were gone.

Franny I see that Martha didn't spend any money for orthodontist work on your teeth - don't feel bad my mom didn't either. Our bottom teeth look like a crooked picket fence - they're all out of control!! My teeth are nice and white but I don't think I have two straight teeth in my mouth. I think I need to sit mom down and have a heart to heart talk with her I need braces.

I can't believe the weekend is over, moms back to work and I didn't get to spend enough time with her. This golf crap is really getting on my nerves. I think I'll bring up that subject as well when we discuss my teeth issues. And to top off an ugly rainy Monday I see that the word Groomer is written on the calendar for Tuesday and Wednesday. T-Bone went last week got his buzz cut for the summer and Precious and Sophie's name is on Tueday so I guess that leaves me on Wednesday. Another bath and nails clipped - shoot me now!

Well I think I'll go get back in bed with dad. Have a good day

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Franny I don’t think that picking a lock is the right thing to do. It’s nice to be able to do everything, but locks are on doors to keep the contents behind them safe. Hiding from squirrels seems to be a good idea but that doesn’t work very well. I see cats doing it all the time and they don’t catch any squirrels. Now birds are a different thing. Cats can catch birds. I guess squirrels are smarter than birds. It’s going to be over 100 again today so I had better get my nap in early.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • I don't know who writes the Daily Wag, but you sure are doing a good job. This is the cutest post yet. Love the captions--thanks for a good laugh this morning. Keep up the good work!

  • Hello Ladies,
This new endeavor looks very clever on your parts. You are sure to catch a squirrel. Better yet, sprinkle some nuts around the basket, then you will for sure get one up close. It has been a rainy weekend here. Dad went fishing and caught lots of trout. Yum!! Hopefully some for dinner. I always get a bite. It is cold enough to have our heat on today. I better go and get under my blanket in my bed. Brrrrr!
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hey guys Tallulah here playing in those baskets sure looks like fun! but why does Martha have all those baskets anyway? and in a special shed under lock and key too mysterious to me I think you guys need to do some detective work and find out why.

  • Are those baskets lined with precious jewels or protecting some secret treasure. The plot thickens! I think I see a new line for the upcoming PetSmart gear - "Doggie-In-A-Basket" a new way to travel with your favorite pooch.

I guess GK is too big now to hide in baskets. Here I thought you were going to treat Sharkey to a picnic basket lunch but instead it was Squirrel Surprise!

  • Hi Sweeties,
This was an especially cute blog today! What a clever way to try to catch a squirrel - maybe next time Sharkey won't jump the gun! haha I don't think I know of anyone but your Momma who has a special little house for baskets! I used to collect them but it got to be too much so now I only save a few. Well, enjoy your day!

  • That's adorable! I hope you got some good squirrel chasing in, even if you didn't catch any. xo

  • When I pet-sit, I keep a journal of what the animals are doing, like sitting in the sun or presenting their caretaker with a gift (couldn't tell if it was Chip or Dale). Like vacation photos, it becomes a cherished keepsake.

  • Hi Girl Friends, You girls sure do have fun everyday! I think it's great that you found that special building that contained all of those good looking baskets! Martha probably has them for special uses and that building is a good place to keep them. Why didn't G.K. come and help you! I just love seeing him on your blog, also. What a clever way to fool those squirrels! Let us know if your project worked. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
