Packing Martha's Bags

Posted by Sharkey

You may have heard that Martha is taking a trip to Turkey.  At first we thought she was going to a turkey farm, but we soon realized that Turkey is a country full of rich culture and history, located at the northeast end of the Mediterranean Sea in southeast Europe and southwest Asia.  Franny and I decided to help Martha out with her packing.  We wouldn’t want her to forget a thing.

Hey Francesca, it looks like Martha is getting ready to pack her electronics in her carry-on.

I think we should help her so she doesn't forget a thing!

This is her iPad - I don't know if you can use the 3G aspect of it in Turkey, but she may want to use it for reading books and other applications.

She ALWAYS takes her Sony Vaio laptop. She uses it to write blogs, email, and store her photos. This one has a great battery life!

And what would she do if she forgot her Canon 5D camera! She absolutely needs it to take photos for the blog, the magazine, and for TV!

She also likes to take a Flip video camera to capture some great moments. It's so easy to use.

I'll send her with this memory card reader, as well.

Francesca, please pass me that 300mm Canon lens. Martha needs that to capture wildlife and far away things.

Even though I already packed her iPad, I think it would be wise to pack her Kindle, as well. The Kindle has better battery life, I've heard. She can read her books on both of them.

Oh Francesca! Won't she be happy with ME for helping her get this all together? Ha-ha-ha!!!!

But why isn't she bringing ME to Turkey? I could use a nice poultry snack, if you catch my drift.

Oh well, I'll just zip this up and hope that it comes back FILLED with some plump, juicy Turkey!

  • Good Morning F & S

Don't you just hate it when you see Martha's luggage appear? I hate luggage that means mom is leaving me. Ok I can deal with one bag but when I see two bags out that means dad is going as well and that means SUPER NANNY is coming. All us dogs get freaked out when we see the luggage so mom has to wait until the day before to pack. One of these days I'm going to hide in the bag and go with her.

Well I must say I had a fantastic weekend. Mom was home early on Saturday from golf and we spent the entire weekend putzing in the yard, it was wonderful. I even floated on the raft with her but I'm not very fond of the pool. I prefer my cold spritz of water to cool me off.

Yesterday we made dad his favorite breakfast a german pancake. We got him lots of father's day cards from the dogs and made a special dinner. I think he really had a nice day.

Well I think I hear mom getting ready to go work in the yard (yes she is taking off today - yipee) so I'd better go get my gardening tools ready. Have a great day everyone.

  • Holy Moly! Martha certainly is a electronics gadget junky...lucky, lucky her! Turkey is a beautiful place, and I'm anxiously waiting to see what your mommie brings back...lots of colors and textures...I have a WWI medal my dad won in Turkey "Gallipoli Star" 1916, yep dad was a bit older then my mom ;-)
Please be careful Martha and have a grand time...we will keep G.K., Francesca and Sharkey entertained.

  • Hello Ladies,
It looks like you know everything about packing a suitcase, even though you never get to go much. Turkey doesn't sound fun to me. I would like to go to where there is alot of fruit, like Hawaii. It isn't such a long flight either. Well, I hope Uncle Carlos does alot with you girls and G.K. while Mom is away. I hope you get to romp around the house while Mom is away and play outside lots. You are very good at watching over things, just take time to have fun.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
What a nice weekend I had. It was cooler; only reaching into the high 90’s. Everything was perfect until one of mommy and daddy’s friends called. Then all “H” broke loose. I don’t know why some mothers can’t let their children live their own lives. For goodness sake they are in their thirties. I was upset and had a hot spot. I scratched it until it was a bleeding. Now I have to get it cared for often. That hurts too. I had to have socks on my feet so I wouldn’t scratch last night. You’re so nice packing for your mommy so she can take another trip. I know she will bring you something back with her; maybe even a turkey.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • So funny that Mommy Martha has a separate suitcase just for her electronic toys. She sure is lucky that you two little helpers are taking care of some of her packing needs.

GK is making me laugh the way he's stretched out napping on the floor letting you two do all the work. Hopefully she will bring you three back yummy turkeys to eat.

  • Hi Girl Friends, It sure looks like you two had fun packing all of those electronic items for Martha to take to Turkey. You sure did a great job and I'll bet Martha was surprised and happy that you helped her out again. She always brings back lots pf pictures of all parts of her trips and I'll bet the ones from the Turkey trip will be super. Did you put a note in her bag suggesting that she bring back some turkey when she comes back home?! If you didn't, maybe you could email her! Hope you are having lots of fun with Uncle Carlos and the rest of the gang. Say hi to G.K. for me. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Wow, wow, wow, wow, you gals need to stow away in the luggage so you can travel with your Mama on her next exciting trip. I bet you really miss her when she is gone and dread it when the luggage is brought out and you know it will be sad to see her off on another trip.

Lots of fab techie toys she has, I hope she has taught you how to use them for your own blog.

One good thing is Mama Martha comes home to you and that makes you happy when you see her walk through the door.
