Sun Queens
Posted by Sharkey
Martha got up really early the other morning and went outside to look around and to take some photos. Of course, Francesca, G.K. and I went outside with her. It was an especially gorgeous sunrise and being from French descent, I was reminded of a tidbit from French history.
1 Oh my, what a beautiful morning!
2 There seems to be a lot of moisture in the air.
3 Look how misty it is all across the paddocks.
4 Francesca! You really need to see this sunrise over our empire.
5 Perhaps we should consider ourselves 'Sun Queens' like Louis XIV, who was known as the Sun King.
6 He was called the Sun King because he thought his role in France was like the sun's role in the universe.
7 That is, after all, just how we feel about our important stature here in Bedford.
8 Let's tell G.K. what our new titles are. He shouldn't be recognized as the only one who comes from royalty!
9 OMG!!! What is he up to?
10 G.K.!!! Turn around at once and come back home!
11 Egads!!! He's not really going to do it, is he?
12 G.K. Don't you dare roll in that stuff. That's not how royals behave!

I must say you both look beautiful in the morning sun, what great pictures. I like to consider my self a Sun Queen as well, I just love to lay on the chase lounge and keep watch on the yard.
Oh and gross me out, don't tell me G.K. ate the big poop out there!! Martha must have been freaking out, didn't he have his breakfast? I hope she washed his face and mouth good before she gave him any kisses - YUK!!!
Well it's Friday but I heard mom talking about golf again. I don't think I'll see her until Saturday afternoon but she'll be home with me on Sunday for Mother's Day. Dad and I are going out to buy her some pretty flower baskets for the yard. We do this every year and when she comes home from Church they are hanging in the yard. That puts a big smile on her face and I get lots of kisses.
Well enjoy your weekend everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all you moms.

Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I love to watch the sun coming up in the mornings if the air is heavy with moisture causing that low thin ground fog. If you two are “sun queens” then I must be the sun king. I love to lay in the cool morning air and let the sun keep me warm. Now it’s not that I need to be kept warm, my long coat does that, but I love to feel the warmth coming from the outside working it’s way inward. Ah, the life of a loving and caring Chow Chow. That’s hard to beat, except today being Friday; have a good weekend all.
Catch you later, Kirby.

Hello Ladies,
What an extraordinary photo shoot Mama Martha did of everyone and everything. She certainly is a master. She should think of selling some framed photos of the farm (and you girls of course too).We are getting in Mother's Day excitement around here. Oh, and Kirby Bear, I will be a sun king with you also. Looks like it will be a great Mother's Day weekend with Mom. Happy Mother's Day to all.
Love & licks,
Basil

Oh Sharkey, I thought you were going to start channeling Gordon MacRae and break into "Oh What A Beautiful Morning." from "Oklahoma."
Your Bedford empire is certainly a grand place to live. Be sure to treat MommyMartha to something very special this Sunday for Mother's Day.
Glad to see you're feeling better Francesca. Um GK...ick...stay away from the horse/donkey poo please!
Hope everyone has a wonderful, fun weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all.

Hi Girl Friends, You sure did a great job of photographing some extra photos of sunrise at Martha's delightful farm. How thoughtful of you to accompany Martha on her early visit all around the farm. Glad to see G.K. went along, too. You two girls looked absolutely beautiful in these photos. Have a wonderful weekend and let us know what you do for Martha on Mother's Day. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

wow, what gorgeous images! There is just nothing else like that gorgeous light you get right at sunrise and sunset. I don't usually get up that early, but i love the peace and quiet of the morning. Looks like the pups do too!

hahaha... the suspense is killing me, did GK think better of his stinky adventure? Or did he need a major bath?
