New Succulents at the Farm!

Posted by Sharkey

Francesca is healing a little problem with her eye and she needs to rest indoors.  Yesterday, I ventured outside and noticed that Shaun was digging along the stone pathway.  I saw that he was planting new succulents and I jumped in to help with the chore.  It's very gratifying to help around the farm.

Hey Shaun! What are you doing out here on the stone path?

1 Hey Shaun! What are you doing out here on the stone path?

I see! You are planting more succulents. I love succulents!

I can help you. I'll just grab Martha's favorite Japanese cultivator and scrape away some of the gravel.

It's careful digging between the flagstone.

Once the hole is dug, I'll scarify the roots of this sedum Hispanicum Var Minus - a very pretty succulent.

Doesn't that look just great?

Yes! If I don't say so, myself! Glad to offer my services, Shaun!

  • I think I've said this before but Francesca, you remind me of my sister. She was the one growing up who always had health related issues. I usually slid by like Sharkey does. I hope you feel better soon. :sad

Sharkey you are such a good little helper. I'm sure Shaun appreciated your helping paw.

  • Good Morning F & S
So Franny what's up with the eye? I once scratched my eye and had to get drops in it every day, it healed up fine. Our eyes are just so big and beautiful that sometimes they get in the way, just like our ears.

Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow health report please!!! Are you on the mend? I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Sharkey you did such a great job helping out with the planting. Make sure you walk on the pavers now so you don't crush those new little plants. I would be okay with that but the labs just run, they don't care what's under their paws. Mom is always yelling at them to get off the plants. All the Hostas are beautiful now around the pool and T-Bone just loves to lay on them, I guess they are cool and feel good against his body. Not me I prefer a chase lounge.

What a beautiful morning I think I'll go grab my leash and take my mom for a walk.

Have a nice day everyone. Franny and Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow feel better soon :)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
So sorry to hear about you having problems Franny. Hope you get to feeling better soon and can go outside and play. I’m not into planting much of anything. I do like to watch someone else do the work. Chow Chows are not in the “working” group you know. As a matter of fact, I don’t like to dig at all. Mommy and daddy have been busy around the house this week and I haven’t been going on my morning walks. Mama is going to the store this morning; drat, no walk again today. I think I will just curl up and take a nap. That’ll show them.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies,
So sorry to hear you are having eye problems Franny. It is wise to listen to the doctor. Let that little fluffball, G.K. take over some of the chores. He seems to be very smart and a quick learner. Hope you feel better soon Franny and that it is nothing too serious. Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow you are in my prayers and also my paws are crossed for you. Have your Mama keep us posted, we all worry. As for you Sharkey, what a great job you are doing with helping Shaun. Let's hope little G.K. minds his peas and 'q's" around all the seedlings and all else. Everyone take care and have a good Wednesday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

I like to help out and Fala seems to "supervise a lot more often...HHHmmmn ...I love what you did with the plants. Can not wait to see what your up to tomorrow.

  • well aren't you the helper Sharkey!! Shaun must have been so happy knowing how very busy you are and having time in helping plant Hispanicum Var Minus...that's the first time I ever heard of that succulent being used between pavers...interesting!

So now go tell Francesca to heal up fast, and give her a big smooch on her silky forhead for me.

  • Hi Sharkey: Frannie, I hope your eye heals up real soon. Make sure you do as your vet says to do and don't rub your eye.

Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow - I hope you are feeling better today. Let us hear from you real soon.

My momma said that she used to raise all kinds of succulents too. There were some from Mexico and some from Africa. It would have been swell to help her plant all that stuff.

It was foggy today but cleared up this afternoon for my sunbath. I guess from now on, my posts will be late in the afternoon. UGH!

Well, time for my walk. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Girl Friends, I sure hope Franny is feeling OK and that her eye gets better real soon. I hope everyone else is feeling good, also. Sharkey, you are so very clever at all of the helpful things you do there at Martha's farm. I absolutely love how you help Shaun plant those beautiful succulents between the flagstones on the fantastic walkway. These photos are fabulous. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Sorry to hear about Francesca's eye problems, Sharkey. I hope she's o.k. I think I know how Empress Tang's face became mashed; didn't she use her face to pat down soil around newly-planted succulents? (By the way, I must congratulate you on yesterday's wicked close-ups of the "great" Tang...heehee). Anyway, good job, O-Shark-O-File! Bye!

  • I wish I had a helper like you, Sharkey. You are so talented. Please send regards to Franny to get well soon.
