We, Frenchies, Help Hang the Screens

Posted by Sharkey

Now that spring has arrived, the grounds crew has been very busy with all of the spring chores.  One major job is taking down the storm windows and replacing them with the screens.  Because Franny and I are never concerned about getting our paws dirty, we are always ready to chip in and help.  No job is too big for us!

Hey there, Gyurme! Are you hanging up the screens now that the weather is warmer? Franny and I will come outside and help you.

Screens are a good thing. We like how the breeze comes inside and cools us down. Plus, who wants pesky bugs in the house.

When Martha built this place, she had all the screens made using brass screening. I like the way they look.

Gyurme, don't forget to wash the glass storm windows before storing them in the basement. Martha also had a special storage area built for these windows. Every window has its own storage slot.

Are you sure you have the right screen for this window?

It should have an identifying number at the top.

There it is - winter house 119!

I like the way these windows are secured onto the house.

They have these really neat screw locks.

Gyurme - hand me the screw driver and I'll get this one.

Tell you what, Gyurme - you take care of all the high windows and we'll stand by for the low ones.

  • Good Morning F & S

I'm having technical difficulties here I can't view your pictures it's been happening all week. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just my system??? Help??

Well I can't comment on your work installing the screens but I can comment on Martha's blog. You live in such a beautiful and peaceful place I hope you all know how blessed you are, the pictures were amazing.

It's raining here this morning but it's making everything look so green. The warm weather the past week has made lots of pretty flowers bloom I think spring has sprung :)

I'm looking forward to a weekend with mom but I think I heard her talking about golf which makes me sad. I'm praying for cold rainy weather tomorrow so she'll be home with me all day. (won't make her happy but I'll will) Dad and I have a few projects around the yard to take care of so I'll be busy with that.

Well have a wonderful weekend everyone.

    Zoe

  • Hello Ladies,
You girls are always busy bees. I hope you get extra goodies for all the extra help you give. That is a pretty jazzy system that Mama Martha has for those screens. It is nice weather here, so it looks like some yard work around here. I love that sunning.

Zoe, I haven't had any trouble with computer stuff at all. You probably have some techno problems.

Everyone have a nice springtime weekend and have some fun.

    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: Gosh, you two sure do a lot of work. I don't know if I could keep up with you at all. Maybe a supervisory job would be in order for me.

Zoe - My momma and I think it is your computer system that is giving you a problem. I haven't had any trouble at all in viewing all the great pictures.

It is cold and rainy here in NC today. I thought it was going to be all over and we could have nice warm weather forever, but nooooooooo!

I don't like it when the wind is blowing too hard. Too many smells and I don't know which one to follow first. But, I just follow my daddy. He is so cool and he loves to take me on my walks no matter what kind of weather it is.

Looks like nap time to me. Have a great weekend everyone. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Sweeties,
You two are such big helpers - are you teaching G.K. all the tricks of the trades? I live in Florida but I could have used those storm windows this past winter. I think it was our coldest winter and we Floridians are wusses when it comes to cold! Have a fun weekend!
To Zoe - Maybe try the compatibility button next to the browser. Sometimes browsers go wackie for no apparent reason!

  • Zoe,
I actually meant the button next to the address bar and not browser. It looks like a page torn in half.

  • Gee, handy helpers for sure!

Hey,do you mind buzzing over here to New Hampshire and helping me wash my windows! :)

    Love you both....

  • what a bossy little Frenchie you are today Sharkey!
well at least it gets done right...right?
love the shee-shee fru-fru brass screens, very cool!

  • Hi Girl Friends, What a great time you must have had helping the guys remove the storm windows and put in the screens. I can certainly see why it would be easier to help with the lower windows instead of the higher ones because you wouldn't have to climb a ladder to help. You girls are awfully good at what you do. Thanks for sharing. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

De peoples dat made 'em DID mark 'em wif a chalk pencil, but de new wabels'll be mrrruch easier ta see.

Mommie's mowed de gwass twiced alweadies (I's 'helped', by wending morwal supports by wooking out de back door while she walked back-n-forths wif da mower!), and earlwier dis week, actual wittle tinie weaves busted forth fwom our maple twee - teenietinie wittle gween weaves - it just happened overnites, mommie said. I is gittin' my dailwy dose of fwesh gween gweens, toos, 'cause I's gits ta go outside wif my wittle harness-n-weash. I just WUVVVS ta go outside - just wike you two girls! You's should see me in my harness, toos! - mommie says I is sooo bootiful!

I is mrrrowy gwads dat t'ings is wooking good dere at you's farm, girls... Tell wittle GK dat I says mrrrow. Pwease gives mommieMartha my purrriest wuvs, toos - wif a wittle nosetap-n/or-headbutt - dat's how we's show affections!

    Wots-n-wots of wuvs,
