G.K. Takes a Look Around the Farm

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

After days of rain, it finally feels like spring has arrived.  At least, that’s what everyone tells me.  You see, this is my very first spring and I’ve got to say that so far, I love it!  I came to live at the farm during winter, when things looked very different.  I really enjoy being outdoors, watching how quickly everything is growing.

Wow! It's such a beautiful day. It's nice under this weeping cherry tree, but maybe I should explore the farm a little.

It looks like the horses are happy to have fresh new grass to eat. They won't even look up.

I really like the shade of blue of these Scilla. They're blue, like my tongue.

The rhubarb is also growing nicely, but I've heard you're not supposed to eat the leaves.

  • GK is looking absolutely beautiful!! I am so happy to see another chow in the family!! Thanks for all the wonderful photos. Franny and Sharky are good siblings!!

  • Hi GK: I really missed not seeing your pictures on this blog, and was really worried about you. Glad you are having the day to yourself and exploring your mom's gardens. All those flowers are soooo very pretty and I bet they smell great. Well, except for the skunk cabbage.

The weather here in NC has been great and I really am back to enjoying my walks with daddy. The pollen bothers momma alot.

Well, not too much going on here, so I think I will have my early morning nap and then have a swell sunbath.

Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
Looks as though little G.K. isn't so little guy anymore. You have turned into a medium fluffball. I imagine by this fall you will be almost full grown. You, Franny, and Sharkey need to take a family photo in the midst of those pretty purple flowers. Wouldn't that be a beautiful Christmas card, Mama Martha? You could even do a then and now type thing of the purple flower photo and then one of them all in the snow in November or October. What do you think Mama Martha? G.K. you are fitting in very nicely with the girls. Keep it up and happy Spring.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Absolutely Adorable!!! Happy First Spring G.K.! you look so precious under all that beauty of those colorful flowered blooms...just adorable!

  • Oh GK look at you, your first official blog post! Thanks for taking us on a tour of how pretty the farm looks now that Spring is arriving. It seems to arrive here in Chicago then disappear - today it's only 45 degrees outside.

Wonder how hard it would be to put together a family portrait of ALL of you on the farm - the horses, donkeys, dogs and cats? Best to leave the birds, ducks, and chickens safely out of reach.

Corralling all of you in one place at one time could be one of the funniest things to do yet.

  • G.K., it's a joy to watch you grow! You, your brothers and sisters look so happy and contented. Thank you for sharing!

  • hey gk
that is one huge vegetable garden what does your mamma do with all those vegetables aside from all the help she is the only one on the farm does she can veggies for you guys to eat in the winter? where are francesca and sharkey today getting into trouble i bet. nice to see you are growing up cute as could be Tallulah

  • G.K. needs an Author Bio just like Sharkey, Fraceska and Pia have!

  • Man, that Bartok looks like a cranky cuss of a cat! I shuddered when I saw photo #2! You'd better be careful, G.K.! Where are the lovely Francesca and Sharkey? Are they still playing 'Cat Pong' on Betsy's new computer? I have to go - bye!

  • Hi G.K., This sure was a fantastic blog about your visiting all around the wonderful farm now that the weather is beautiful. Your photos are really stunning and I love how you are enjoying learning all kinds of new things. You are one handsome fellow and my Mom says you look more like Paw Paw as time goes by. She loves you as much as I do. Be sure to tell the girls Hi from us and I can hardly wait to see your next blog. Love to all, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • ok mommie delia forgot about the cats!!! she showed me the kit-kats out on the sunny spring day at MS'...it made me happy to see those regal beauties...

just wanted to say meeuw from Kitty!

  • Hi Genghis,
I am so glad you are checking up on things at the farm. You will be a big help to Martha.
You should have pulled out some flowers to give to her and Franchesca and Sharkey. By the way, I have good news for you. Last night your father received awards from the
Chow Chow National Club for being the top chow chow in the country. He was very proud. He wishes you could have seen him receive the award but he knows you are very busy trying to keep things running smoothly at the farm. He told me to tell you that he is proud of you also for doing such a great job on your first post.

  • G.K., you are looking so handsome! You're growing up so fast, but I can tell by those bit mitts of yours that you have quite a way to go before you're a big boy. Chow Chow puppies are so cute, but you won't stay a pup forever.. maybe Martha will bring home a little sister when you get older?.... I wonder what the girls would have to say to that?
