A Daffodil Bouquet for Martha

Posted by Sharkey

Now that spring has finally arrived, it's so much fun being outdoors.  Martha has made certain that the farm is a beautiful place to meander around.  When all the flowers start to bloom, it's just breathtaking!  We, Frenchies, really love the daffodil border.  Come and see what we picked for Martha the other day.

Wow! There are so many varieties planted here. I think I heard Martha say forty different kinds!

You don't need to sniff each and every one, Franny! Let's cut them quickly so we can hurry them into to the house before they wilt!

Franny, don't you think Martha will love this arrangement? There's one of each variety.

And here's a special daffodil from me to you! You see, it's both white like my coat and pink like my beauty marks.

  • Ahhhh.... you both look so cute in the daffodil flowers. Franny you need to have Martha do some research to see if there is a daffodil with your colors, maybe in some Gothic Magazine or something.

My mom had us up pretty early this morning she is heading out to play golf and it's far from our house. I think I heard her complaing I kept her up all night snoring. Well, it's not my fault. She left the window open and it was chilly last night so I needed to snuggle and yes maybe my snoring was a little loud but I needed to dig in around the back of her neck so I could still keep my head on the pillow and keep warm :) Anyway, the most important thing is that I was warm and cozy and got a good nights sleep.

I'm ready for lunch already, she fed me at 5:00 dad better have dinner ready by 3!!!

  • I LOVE Franny and Sharky!! Every morning, when I read their blog, a huge smile breaks out on my face!! I so look forward to reading about everything they do!! I miss GK though.......Can you include him more??? Again....thanks for making my day!!

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: What a beautiful variety of flowers you picked for your mom. That is so very cool. I would pick flowers for my momma too, but she doesn't garden anymore.

The weather here is beautiful and I just got back from Lynaire's Deluxe Boarding Kennel. They put me in the Queen's Chamber room. That was the best room ever. I got a bath and my nails done. There were nature walks and play time and snacks and naps and plenty of good food and water. I got to stay there for two days and I had the best time ever. Lots of activities for pups.

Hey, where is GK these days??? I miss him. He is so furry and fat and cuddly. His feelings are probably hurt cause he can't join in all the time, but pretty soon he will be so big you won't be able to refuse him. HAHAHAHAHA

Well, it's time for a snack and a nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello Ladies,
You both look beauuuuutiful in Mama Martha's daffodils. For a minute I thought you flew to Holland. You are both so thoughtful to pick her a bouquet. You need to get a few springtime photos of her in the daffodils with you both. Franny there are some black/purple tulips that match you and I and our coats. I bet Martha has those growing somewhere on the farm. Have a great day all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
My mommy says it’s to hard to get flowers to grow here so I had better stay clear of them; no picking. When she plants something, the bugs eat it or the squirrels dig it up trying to hide something in the loose soil. My daddy said that he wished that they made stainless steel chicken wire. He would “fix” it so they couldn’t dig very far. I keep them out of the yard but I can’t be there 24-7. When we got back from being away for ten days, mom’s herb pots were all torn up by them. She has to replant most everything which was still living. Daddy said a small “hothouse” is what she needs; he’s making drawings.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Don't the two of you look wonderful amongst the flowers. Delia, what you just said, "Pups In Daffodils" would make a great title of a portrait of Francesca, Sharkey, and GK sitting among the flowers on the farm.

Please include GK more in your adventures. It would have been so sweet to see him there presenting a bouquet of daffodils to Mommy Martha too.

  • Cute doggies!

  • What a great post, I love daffodils! You two are adorable and what a nice thing to do. Emma Bobo (5 year old Lab mix) also loves being outside right now. She'll sit in the grass, basking in the sun light forever. She'll never come inside so I have to bribe her with a cookie so she doesn't get sun burned.

  • Hi Girl Friends, Oh, what a lovely thing you did for your wonderful Mom, Martha! I just love how you went out and picked all of those beautiful daffodils to surprise Martha! I can only imagine how pleased she was! Anytime you want me to come over and help you with any project, just let me know and I'll be there! Say Hi to all of your other animal friends and especially to Martha. Love to all, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
