Swinging is a Blast!

Posted by Sharkey

We were out and about with Uncle Carlos the other day when we came upon a playground, which had swings for kids.  Franny and I started wondering, why should kids have all the fun?  Why not dogs, too?  It turns out that swinging is a blast and Franny even started reciting poetry.  I think I'll ask Martha to get us some swings for the farm.

These swings are kind of comfy - don't you think, Franny?

Yeah - It's nice to just sit back and enjoy the gentle motion.

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a doggy can do!

I know the next verse - Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside

Uhh - Excuse us, Frenchies, but do you think we may have a turn?

Thank you very much and I believe the last verse is -
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown -
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
Weeeee!!!!

  • F & S who were those scary dudes that showed up to swing? Those were some rough looking pups.
I've never been on a swing I don't know if I would like it - did you get motion sickness? G.K. is growing up pretty fast that fur ball just about fit in the swing.

Well I think the rain is going to stop here today I'm sick of rain I WANT SUNSHINE!!! I heard dad telling mom he is going to start working on the pool so it will be open for Easter. The pool looks like a natural lake and is so pretty much better looking than that green safety cover. We love to run across the cover and play on it you can bounce on that you know and not even get wet - lots of fun but we get yelled at.

We have the big Easter Egg hunt here on Sunday I have so much fun helping the kids find eggs. My problem is the eggs are too big for my mouth. Those Labs can carry 2 at a time I have to try and break it open and carry half at a time. I can't wait :)

Well my breakfast is ready - have a nice day everyone.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that looks like so much fun. We're going to make mommie take us to the park so we can swing too. We like your new friends - they look just like us!

  • Wow, I bet you all had a blast on those swings. Genghis, I can't believe how much you have grown. You sure are having quite an adventurous life on the farm. I think Uncle Carlos will have to find a bigger swing for you next time.

  • Wowee and weee! Hey, F&S, if Martha gets a swing for the three of you, you better make sure that she gets an extra large for GK. Next year he won't fit in that seat.

  • You are the cutest trio I have ever seen!!! GK has really gotten big!! Franny and Sharky are great siblings!!

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
Another adventure of excitement, how lucky you all are. Swing high, swing low, what fun!!! I bet you all are getting ready for the annual Easter egg hunt. Do you get to participate? Another beautiful Spring day here. I still can't believe that it was 81 degrees yesterday and snowing last week at this time. That's Colorado for you. Have a great day all.
    Love & licks,

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
You two, err three, seem to be having too much fun. I don’t like to swing very much, makes me feel ill. Lot’s of things happening around here with mommy and daddy getting things ready for our Easter trip. I was all alone yesterday and wasn’t good. I had a spot that itched really bad and I took care of it; well too good. Mommy had to cut some of the hair away so she could treat the area. She calls it a “yu-boo”. A “boo-boo” is when something happens to you and a “yu-boo” is when you cause it yourself.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • You certainly had a swinging time, and even added a valuable cultural element with your poetry recitation! Who knew? G.K. is certainly growing fast, and I think he is going to be a lot bigger than you, Franny and Sharkey. Have you read "Gulliver's Travels"? You are probably going to be the little people and G.K. the giant. Hmmm. Hmmm... In the meantime, could I try some of the rhubarb sorbet from Martha's dinner? Is there any left?

  • waaay too cute!! I laughed so hard seeing you two sophisticated Frenchie's in a swing seat all crunched up...and then G.K! whoa, that was way too funny! that fur fluff soo adorable.
your guest-friends the Pugs, were cute as well!
    Great shots Carlos!!

  • Ha ha one of your funniest blogs yet! Photo #2 of you Francesca in total dreamy contemplation is the cutest. My my GK, you certainly have grown so much in such a short time. Sharkey, who are those new pals of yours who wanted to swing as well?

Glad to know that Sophie is doing much better. Basil you keep being a good boy and you'll be fine too.

  • Hi Everybody: What a great and wonderful thing to do. I wish I had a swing like yours. It would be so much fun that I would have momma and daddy swing me all evening. Well, I guess that's not gonna happen. But if it did I would invite all my friends in the neighborhood over and mom and dad would swing all of us. HAHAHAHAHA!

Well, it has been a wonderful, warm Spring day here on the East Coast. I had a great sunbath and a nice long nap. Momma was late in helping me to write today. I must talk to her about that! NOT!!!!!

Hey, welcome to all the new pups on this blog. How cool is that?? Hello Tallulah, welcome aboard.

Kirby - I hope your "yo-boo" gets better real soon.
Basil - It sounds like you are feeling great again.

Well, take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Girl Friends & G.K., Wow! You sure did have a great time with Uncle Carlos, again! I love seeing each one of you enjoying your time in those swings! Your ability to share RLS poetry with us was great! How nice of you to let the Pugs have a turn on the swings. All of you looked absolutely fabulous. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO_
