Pruning the Berry Patch
Posted by Sharkey
When you live on a farm, there are many chores to do. Shaun, the gardener, has been really busy with his crew, getting the grounds all spruced up for spring. Franny and I decided to explore the berry patch the other day and saw that it was really overgrown. Berries need a good pruning every now and then, so I found some clippers and got busy. Come and see my pruning skills.
1 Come on, Franny! Let's go check out the berry patch.
2 From the looks of this tangled, overgrown mess, I'd say that the raspberry bushes need a good pruning. Shaun said that berries should be pruned at this time of year.
3 Pruning can't be that hard. What do you say - we help Shaun out? He's so busy elsewhere on the property.
4 A little snip here - a little snip there - hey, this is kind of fun!
5 Voila!!! That row is done!
6 Very nice work, Sharkey, if I don't say so myself!
7 Now all we have to do is dream of fragrant, sweet red raspberries.
8 And delicious black raspberries
9 And perfect golden raspberries
10 Sharkey, I think that Shaun will be BERRY happy that we took the initiative to prune. LOL!!

Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I have always wanted to live on a farm with all that space in which to play and all the other animals; but now I don’t know about that. It seems like there is a lot of work just keeping up with things. I’m afraid that all that work would cut into my nap time. Then again, with all those things going on who could nap? Have a good weekend all. Happy birthday Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow; have many more.
Catch you later, Kirby.

Good morning Francesca and Sharkey: You two sure are energetic. All that trimming and pruning looks really good. It will make for a wonderful berry crop.
Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow - Happy 14th birthday. You must know many, many wise things. Wisdom comes with age. I was wondering why you have not written lately, and so glad to know that you are okay. Hope you get some really good things that you like for your birthday.
Hi Basil - Hope you are feeling better today.
I had a wonderful birthday yesterday and a small cheeseburger too!
Have a great weekend everyone. Time for a small snack and a morning nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

seeing that my comments aren't showing, I still continue to post...a daily morning habit!
I need to trim by berry bushes, even though they are wild, I think it could help...
Francesca and Sharkey you two are such great models, always posing with poise! woof woof!
Kitty says meeuw, she is out enjoying the last day of warmth...snow coming again this evening, but it will lay on 60 degree warm ground, so might melt quite fast...have a great weekend everyone, AND I hope this issue of posting comments will be gone by Monday...LOL

Hello Ladies,
Always busy you girls are, that is for sure. Pruning is a very hard job, and your's looks so nice. I bet your Mama Martha made some good jam from her berries last year. Spring is almost here and it is snowing hard outside--supposed to get a foot.
Happy, Happy, Birthday Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow. Wow, 14 years old. You are a super hero. Have a great weekend all.
LOve & licks,
Basil

You and Franny are two of the hardest working doggies around! Blogging, pruning, babysitting your little brother GK, etc. you girls do it all. Those berries look delicious. The only berry you're missing is the Blackberry berry my favorite above everything else.
Happy 14th Birthday Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow! So good to see you back and happy to know that you and your Mom have simply been busy offline.
Everyone have a great weekend. It's warm today in Chicago but this weekend it's going to plunge back to the upper 30's. So enjoy it while you can.

Hi Girl Friends, Now that the weather is getting warmer and it is actually springtime, I can see that you girls spend much more time outside helping Shaun in different parts of the garden area. Where's GK?! I'll bet he would love to learn more of the great things you two do there on Martha's farm. Hope you had a great weekend. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

Glad spring is here, even with the 10 inches of snow over the weekend. Can Martha do a show on her chickens and eggs? The diffrent chickens she has. With Easter comming it would be fun to see your Hen friends. Thank you for Hunter and Bubbles.
