G.K. can Read and he can Talk!

Posted by Francesca

Sharkey and I were very surprised the other day when we found so much food in the kitchen.  There were bowls of this and trays of that and we could not imagine what it was all to be used for.  Much to our surprise, little G.K., who is not so little anymore, informed us that Martha was having a dinner party, which would explain why Pierre, the chef, was visiting.  Who knew that G.K. could read?  It also seems that now he has a voice on this blog!  I suppose it’s good to share.

Oh, those are fava beans. They grow in really large pods and I've heard they are a lot of work to shell. However, I've also heard they're quite delicious.

It's the menu for tonight's special dinner that Chef Pierre Schaedelin is here to prepare. It looks like Martha's guests are in for a real treat! And we, dogs, will need to be on our best behavior!

  • Good Morning F & S

Where did the weekend go? It seems like it was just Friday night and now mom is getting ready for work. We did spend lots of time together this weekend since it was too cold for her to play golf which made me happy. Yesterday it rained so I was busy helping mom bake we made Martha's chocolate chunk cookies (dad's fav) and a carrot cake. Mom was using some curse words at one point, she was making Red Velvet cup cakes and after they were in the oven she realized she left out one of the ingredients - they all went into the trash.

So big party at the Stewart house the menu looked really good. I love all those veggies you have pictures of those are some of my favorite. Mom gives us veggies as treats she says they are good for us. I love carrots the best.

So did you get to mingle with the guests? Was G.K. on his best behavior? I know the two of you were but he's still a pup. I would hang out right under the dinner table and hope something would drop or someone would sneak me a taste of lamb. Mom made rack of lamb last night for dinner and it was wonderful. I make sure my head rests on her legs while she is eating so she doesn't forget to save me a little taste.

Sophie goes to see the Doctor today for her check up. I hope she gets a good report I know she is really tired of being on a leash. She wants to run in the yard with the rest of us.

Basil how is the back feeling?

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Thank goodness the weekend is over and the severe thunderstorms have past. I had to take one of those little pills last night with all the storms around. But it’s another great day here with the sun shinning brightly and a blue sky. Gosh, I just love the springtime. GK, you’re the man; way to go with your reading already. As for me, just give me the comic page and let me read Garfield. I’d just love to give him a good chase around the block. I’d bet he would loose some of that weight.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey and GK: Oh boy! A big dinner party. All that yummy food. Love rolls too. Are they going to have plenty of them??? I would like to try some of those veggies too. Momma gave me a string bean the other night. Takes a bit of getting used to but it was good. Yummy!

Zoe - I also place my head on momma's legs so she doesn't forget I'm there. Mom and dad always give me a little of what they are having unless it has onions and stuff that is bad for me. I don't like fish though. UGH!!!

Basil - Hope you are feeling great today.

Well, it is raining on the coast today. Luckily, daddy took me on my morning walk before it started. When it did start it scared me cause it just dropped really hard from the sky. Zowie! I think I will take an early morning nap now. It is chilly outside, but not in my home. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • what great veggies!! bet the food was delicious, guess when someone with the name Pierre is cooking, I'm sure it has to be good.
Wow G.K. has grown by leaps and bounds! remember F & S you are the senior residence at MS's and you have the upper paw.
Kitty has been out checking out the woods, she is happy to be out again and go places, I just worry about her running into the fox and coyote.
    meeuw from Kitty...

well my name and info wasn't in the post a comment boxes this morning, so hopefully I will not have problems posting again...we will see once I hit that submit button

  • Hey Guys:
Tallulah here, how was the fabuloso dinner party i bet it was a huge hit and you two guys got to hang out with all the rich and famous! so dish tell us all about it. raining in my town today so i'll just chill until dinner time.

  • You just know that if Pierre is the guest chef, there must be a big shin dig about to happen. The food looks wonderful.

Did you and Sharkey wear your Diamond necklaces for the party? It looked like a formal occasion. Does GK have a Diamond pendant to wear? Maybe something like what King Henry (The Tudors) wears.

My fingers are crossed for both Sophie and Basil that you both will feel better.

  • Hi Girl Friends & GK, I am so glad that young GK is able to help both of you girls discover what is going on there at the farm. I'm sure he is a very intelligent little fellow, just like you two are. I am so glad that you are now working together to find out what goes on every day. It seems like we learn a lot more when we share our thoughts with each other. I dearly love all three of you. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Good Morning all my buddies

Sophie got a good report yesterday her knee is healing very well. Mom and dad just have to check her on a monthly basis to make sure no more lumps pop up due to the tumor that was removed. So all in all a good report :)

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
Nice of you ladies to share the spotlight with Mr. Fluffball. I was beginning to think Martha had sent him off to military school or something. I didn't check in yesterday as it was very hectic around here. Dad had to take Mom to the hospital. She had a very serious migrane headache that had been going on for several days. She is better today and it is my last day of muscle relaxers. The true test is when I am off of them if I stay well. Thanks again for all of you caring about me. Have a great Tuesday.
    Love & licks,
    Basil
