Francesca Explores Martha's Basement

Posted by Francesca

The other day, when Sharkey went to visit Dr. Marty, I decided to go and explore the basement.  Most of the time when I am down there, it's because I have to have a bath.  But, there is so much more to see and it was good to finally have the time to check things out.

Well look how organized all of Martha's screens are! This says winter house and each window has a number. I guess that makes things a whole lot easier in the springtime.

  • Francesca this private exploration time was just what you needed. You always seem to find the cat's toys to play with.

No fair teasing you with the chickens and plastic food.

  • Good Morning F & S

Franny glad to see you got some quite time without G.K.. That basement sure holds lots of neat stuff. Sharkey how are you feeling? I hope much better.

Mom and I were looking at Martha's pictures from her trip, lots of blood made my tummy upset. I'm sure glad we don't have to hunt for our food, looks like hard work. I think it's working just walking over to the bowl can't imagine having to chase down something then have to tear it apart. I like bite size pieces on my plate.

Well I was sick again, kept mom up all night Friday. I kept coughing up mucus mom had me there at 8:00 Saturday morning. Of course I was greeted with a kiss from the doctor then the cold stick up my butt :( I got a needle and have to take pills, mom thinks she is being slick sticking them into a piece of liverwurst. I must say the liverwurst is yummy. Plus I'm getting ground beef and rice again another favorite. Mom learned something Saturday that you should never give your animal brown rice if they are stick. We need the long cooking white rice it has more starch. Dr. Keefe took good care of me and I'm feeling much better today.

Happy March 1st - Spring should be here soon :)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Well the weekend’s over and now it’s back to my normal thing again. Come to think of it, I do my normal thing on the weekends too. It’s March first and the trees around here will soon be putting forth their leaves again. The two flowering pear trees out front are beginning to “bud” out a little even if it’s in the low 30’s at night. The warm days brings them to life. Good to see you exploring Franny; I love to explore. When I saw those three large pans sitting on the floor, my daddy had to tell me what they were for. Why can’t those cats just “go” outside like I do? Seems much cleaner that way.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • well that was a nice jaunt through the basement...wish ours was that neat.
So you think the cats are spoiled! huh, who gets to live upstairs???? guess your not spoiled.
Hope Sharkey is doing better, be nice to her Francesca...oh, that big ball of fluff too G.K.
Just remember how lucky you ALL are living with MS, not that I'm complaining, cause I love my simple live here at mommie delia's.
have a nice day, the sun is shining here...meeuw the cat defender Kitty

  • Hello Ladies,
Glad to see you are making good use of your time while Sharkey is at the vet's. Is she o.k.? Martha's basement looks like a fun place to explore. All of the plastic food--is it used for her show? Speaking of her show, Mom is very excited to have her back on and the Olympics over. Can you believe that those fool cats get to go potty inside? Just like a cat to think they are entitled!!! Did Mama Martha bring you girls anything back from Africa? Like some great looking new duds? Well have a great day and everyone keep well!
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • How is Sharkey doing? We hope she is ok, and we would love to explore the basement with you. It does not seem fair that M has all those delicious looking FAKE yummies... wow way to tease a frenchie... Lots of love to both of you from Fala and Winnie

  • Hi Girl Friends, MS. Franny, it sure looks like you had fun exploring Martha's basement. Hadn't you ever been down there before?! Thanks for sharing all the things you found. I think you two girls and GK should get an Emmy Award because you are the best dogs on TV!!! I hope Sharkey is doing better and I'm sure you are really happy to have Martha back home. Take care and stay warm. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • I am playing catch up with your blog today, Wow Franny that basement looks big and dreary & scary. Better get Sharkey to explore with you next time. I don't think there are any ghosts down there do you, mostly appears to be those you know CATS hanging around down there waiting to pounce on you if you get near there turf boundaries. I'd stay outta there.

  • OMG!
I want that Turkey mold so bad! It made the most beautiful November Living cover ever, and was only talked about in the front letter from Martha.

It makes an 18 inch Solid Chocolate Tureky, I contacted the company that was in the reference guide in the back of the issue, and these molds come around now and then, the last one this company had was sold for $18,000.00! And this is just sitting in her basement? Its so amazing it really should be on display somewhere!

I have 14 of Marthas jaite Turkey's from the old Martha by Mail catalog, I have them lined up "Standing Guard" on top of my cabinets in the kitchen.

Martha, you sold Turkey Hill, have a garage sale and let me know, i'll come on over and give this gem a happy home! (Wink!)
