Rules of the Bed

Posted by Sharkey

Franny and I have been working hard making G.K. feel welcomed.  Well, maybe not so much Franny.  Getting used to a dog brother is a big adjustment and you know how territorial dogs can be.  Franny is very set in her ways and she's had to learn to back off considerably.  Take a look at this.

Just so we, dogs, stay out of trouble, Martha likes to keep our beds in the kitchen. Doesn't this one look soft and cozy?

Sorry G.K. - that's just how it is. Franny is very set in her ways, if you haven't noticed.

Don't do it G.K! Franny's bed is off limits to you!

How persuasive do I have to be to make you understand?

Franny, back off - I've got the situation under control.

I'm sure your bed is just as comfortable as mine. It's just that I'm a purist and I only like fancy Frenchie perfume.

Hey, don't pout like that! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

Now I've gone and done it. I act so impulsively sometimes. Can you forgive me?

I suppose you can use my bed. I kind of like the way you smell, anyway.

Are you feeling better now, big boy? Try not to get too comfortable.

  • Good Morning F & S

This is a serious issue, G.K. trying to move in on your bed - I don't think so. Franny I'm like you - no dog is allowed on my bed unless invited by me. I'll go nap on the other dogs bed and will let them snuggle with me (only if I'm in the mood) but if they try to get on my bed look out. Territory is so important in a Frenchie world, those labs just go with the flow, they'll nap anywhere.

I also have issues with my toys - paws off. I'll take their toys but don't you dare even look at my stuff. I wonder why I'm like that? Mom will come home from the store and give us all a new toy and it seems we all end up wanting the same toy. Of course I always win, go figure I'm 20 pounds they start at 90 :)

F & S do you ever get the chance to help loading the dishwasher? That is another area where I won't let anyone near or I start a fight. Mom yells at me the entire time she is trying to load dishes because I try to lick everything, she gets so mad. I like to call it the prewash cycle, sometimes after she rinses something will get stuck so it's like a treat for me. She really gets made when I climb on the door I try to get inside - ha! so much fun. I usually get a time out for that stunt.

Ah, the adventures of a dog named Zoe - I should write a book :)

  • Hello Ladies,
I do believe that G.K. has crossed the line a bit. Your bed is "YOUR" bed and G.K. I am sure has a nice fluffy one. Being a Frenchie myself I very much understand territory. One time a day I allow Tasha to get in my bed. It is while Mom has coffee. She gets in my bed and then I reluctantly get in her bed. It only lasts through the cup of coffee and then we switch. An entire nap--NEVER! I think G.K. has crossed the line. Keep your eye on him that he doesn't take over. Frenchies rule. Never forget that G.K. Have a great day all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’m glad that I don’t have to share my bed with anyone else. When I sleep, I get hot and have to move around so I really have a bed in every room of the house. When I’m traveling, in daddy’s truck, I have a nice soft bed to sleep on but I usually just find a spot on the floor and sleep. I don’t play with many toys now, so you can play with them all you want. I saw on The Martha Show yesterday that you had pizzas. When mommy and daddy first were married, daddy was in the Air Force. He didn’t get very much money then, so they found that eating pizza on Saturday night filled them up and didn’t cost much. That sort of stuck and every Saturday night, they still have pizza. Averaging one pizza a week for, let’s say, 50 weeks a year and 48.9 years; that’s 2,445 pizzas. Kind of shoots that “46 slices a year” down. I always knew that mommy and daddy were above average.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Where does one find those adorable beds? I think they would be perfect for our pack of three!

  • OMG this is too funny! Francesca your whites of the eye is showing...you really mean it don't you! seems that Sharkey has the mother instinct and wants to make G.K. feel at home and welcomed.

  • Hi Sweeties,
Man, would I love to spend a day with the three of you. You're a laugh riot! No wonder Carlos is always smiling. Thanks for all of your cute blogs.

  • I think you should add a referee shirt to your upcoming line of clothes at Pets Smart because Sharkey you needed one in picture #7.

The antics of the three of you is certainly entertaining!

  • Hi Girls, For some reason the comments DDR made to you yesterday didn't go through. Just as I was submitting his comments, my phone rang and the comments didn't go through. Now I will try to remember what he said. I think he appreciated how Sharkey took such good care of brother GK and helped Franny to treat him much better. As time goes by, he feels that all three of you will be very good friends. Love from both of us, Jan & DDR XOXOXO+

  • Good Morning Ladies,
It is tough sometimes sleeping with pets and either allowing it or Not. We do since I got married back 11 years ago. We have 3 Yorkies, the worst thing I had was the struggle for bed cover, you know how they get in the middle or around your hips or shoulder. We were at Global Pet last month and my wife managed to get a set of bed sheets made for people that sleep with there pets. Oh my, do they ever work, we have had so much better sleep I can't express it. They are called the Pleat Sheet done by Premier Pet, here is the site if anyone is interested.www.thepleatsheet.com, Martha you really need to take a look at these.
    Cheers, Ladies
