G.K. Explores in the Snow

Posted by Francesca

I suppose that when you are a puppy, there are many things to get excited about.  Sharkey and I keep forgetting that for G.K., the world is a totally new place and that things, like snow, are something of a phenomena.  It's amusing to see his enthusiasm.  It's kind of infectious, actually, and I have to admit, that I am now looking at the world with renewed vim and vigor.

The outdoors is covered again with that fluffy white stuff called snow.

This is the donkey paddock, but I guess the donkeys are in the stable. Too bad. I like them.

I don't know if it was a good idea to stick my face in the snow.

Good thing it shakes off pretty easily.

Someone is calling my name - better go back home now.

  • Hi GK
You have the cutest butt in NY little fella! It is fun you playing in the snow takes me back to my puppy days when I first saw the snow at your age in 1996. I loved to run and play in it, you look to be feeling the same way. Enjoy your puppy days soon you will be the big dog of the house!

    Until tomorrow,

    Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow

P.S Hello to Sharkey & Franny.

  • P.S.S

I forgot gals I heard them talking about you at the Westminster Dog Show last night and talking about your Mama and the Chow Chow there was stunning. A relative of Paw Paw and GK.

To Zoe I hope Sophie is feeling better and mending well. Big hug sent her way from me and my Maa.

To Kirby Bear Chow Chow- I didn't think I went in for younger Male Chow Chows but GK is so cute. I can't help myself I am old enough to be his Great Grandma but I can crush on him in a harmless manner and remember the days of my puppy youth lol! Ta he!

    Happy Woof Wednesday everyone.

  • Good Morning F & S

I'm getting a chill just looking at those pictures, I'm not fond of the snow. Mom still has not purchased me a pair of goggles to keep the flakes out of my eyes and my paws just freeze walking in that white stuff. G.K. has that nice thick fur to keep him warm but I bet his paws get cold.

So what's up with this Scottish terrier beating the Frenchie last night?? Mom and I watched and were cheering for the Frenchie - maybe next year. He was a handsome pup my heart was beating fast just watching him strut around the arena.

Well I have to go help mom give Sophie her pills. I'm not being nice helping out I just stand by because mom sticks her pills in a piece of liverwrust (I can't believe she falls for that trick) and I always get a little piece too - yummy stuff.

    Have a good day.

    Zoe

Thank you for the nice words and hug for my sister Sophie. I'll giver her a lick for ya. She is doing better every day but it will be 6 more weeks before she can play and run with the rest of us.

And for going for the younger dogs I hear ya. That Frenchie in the show last night was only 2 and I'm turning 4 in August but he captured my heart. I wonder if he is single????

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It looks as if GK really does like the snow as much as I do. Yesterday during The Martha Show, daddy called me to come and watch the “doggies” on the TV. All it took was just one look and I knew I had to act. Daddy was sitting in his recliner with his feet up, so I jumped up and placed my front legs across his legs. My head and upper body blocked the TV so he couldn’t see. The nerve of him ogling (to stare intently) over another dog. GK shows he is all Chow Chow when he walked right up to those bigger dogs. Chows aren’t afraid of much at all. It’s good to see that Franny is taking the part of being a big sister serious now.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Francesca and Sharkey,
We had a wonderful time at the studio yesterday. Thank you for inviting us. I bet you two had fun with all those Frenchies to play with. Maddox was very happy to see his son, GK, and also the two of you. We both thank you for everything that you are doing to educate GK on the ways of the world. We know puppies are a handful but you girls are doing a marvelous job.

  • Good morning everyone: Just look at GK having the best time that ever was. All that snow! What fun he must be having playing in it as a pup. Since it doesn't snow hardly at all here on the coast, it's just like I was a little pup exploring it for the first time. I love it but would not like to be in it for an overly long time.

Momma said that her newly found sister lives in North Dakota and that their winters are long and hard. It is always freezing and it always snows. That to me is too much. Maybe it will snow here for a day or two and then go away. Francesca and Sharkey - Watch out for GK and don't let him get lost in all that fun snow.

Zoe - Glad to hear that Sophie is feeling better.

Well, time for an early morning nap. I can hardly wait till Spring comes to visit. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
Looks as though you gals are teaching G.K. not to run off when he is out exploring. Glad the both of you are into taking care of him now. I told you Franny that things would get easier in time. Mom is very sad because we didn't get to see the Martha Show, and won't until March 1st because of programming due to the Olympics. I will try and see the Frenchies and Chows from the Westminister Dog Show. Today is a busy day as I am helping Mom reorganize her studio. Martha motivates her with all her getting organized. Have a great day everyone.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • yeah, what fluff butt!! G.K. you are too cute for sure...looks like you really enjoyed your scouting out the farm trenching through the snow...very cute!

  • Hi Franny & Sharkey, I'm sure you're excited about G.K.being part of your family, but I miss seeing what you both are up to each day. I look forward to your antics. My "granddaughter" Rubi is a Frenchie who looks like Francesca. I love to see what you do and also what you wear. Love It!

  • Hi Girl Friends, You two are so great in how you are taking care of your handsome little brother, GK. He is so precious and you are so special because of all the nice things you are doing to make him feel right at home on Martha's wonderful farm. He is going to be a fabulous grown up dog who will do all he can to protect both of you and the other animals there on the farm. Life sure is fun there on the farm, isn't it?!!! Sure wish I could visit there sometime. Stay warm. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • GK you little cutie. You're channeling your inner snow bunny angel.

  • Well, girls, (GK too), I was r-e-a-l-l-y getting jealous in previously seeing all of mommieMartha's landscape WITHOUT snow on the ground! It's high time you receive some of it this winter, even if those pretty little tootsietoes of yours DO get wet! [meant in a gentle manner - with fondness and love, of course!] Just shake 'em off like my little Mandy does! (The kittiekittie species, in general, doesn't like to get it's 'pwecious paws' wet in ANY way/shape/form!)

Unlike you beautiful little ones, my Mandy wants NOTHING to do with the snow! Even though she's a grown-up kittiekittie, snow IS new to her this winter, as she's just learned how to go outside on her harness and leash. She asks mommie to go out, then we do, but it's miraculous to witness her ingenuity as she steps out the backdoor onto a covered and dry patio with hesitation, KNOWING something is different! When the path to the garden shed where our birdseed is stored eventually yields some grass blades peeping through some meltdown, this is the ONLY way my/our beautiful calico girl can get her daily outdoor adventure and delicious dose of daily greens. When she's done, she willingly leads ME(!) to the backdoor and waits patiently as she gets unharnessed. She obviously is so invigorated by this little outing that she SPRINTS up the 2 steps from the indoor landing and b-a-r-e-l-y turns the corner on the slippery kitchen floor, with the ultimate goal being a braided rug in the dining room, in which to dig her claws into and keep her gorgeous muscles toned. It's the same-ol' same-ol' after each and every excursion but oh the joy it brings me...my heart overflows with giggles and laughter at my/our little Mandy girl!

Unlike you two little divas, little Ghengie ISN'T going to need a little jacket on cold days, I'm afraid... That little furrieburrie'll already be ready to bolster out a-n-y open door for a romp in the great out-of-doors!

    =^..^=

  • what a sweetie!
