Dog sitting for G.K.
Posted by Sharkey
Now that G.K. has come to live with us, there is very little rest for the weary. He is most rambunctious and he is certainly curious. Franny and I know that Martha waited a very long time for this puppy, a grandson of Paw Paw's, and we feel a huge responsibility to keep him safe from harm. We just weren't prepared for all of the work involved with dog sitting.
1 Franny, quick! We had better keep up with G.K. That tyke is fast and he loves to wander!
2 Look at him just taking off all by himself! He certainly is brave.
3 Now he's dashing into the bushes! You never know what could be lurking in there.
4 He's a big responsibility. We better follow and protect our little brother.
5 Silly G.K. That's kind of a small stick to play fetch with.
6 Oh no, not the pine cones - they get your mouth all sticky.
7 Sharkey! He's fast - I think he's about to outrun me!
8 G.K. - you're kind of a pawful. Watching you is work!
9 Now where is he off to?
10 Right through the pachysandra!
11 Oh thank goodness, right into Sanu's arms and back into the house. Now, we Frenchies can do our thing.

Good Morning F & S
I feel your pain, I've been dog sitting with mom and dad since Sophie came home from the hospital. G.K. seems like a pawful, I think you need a private sitter for him.
Sophie can't be left alone until she gets her staples and stitches out. She really looks silly wearing a lampshade on her head. Mom said it's to keep her from licking her boo-boo. She is doing better each day. We are still waiting for the biopsy results to come back so mom is still stressed about that
I saw on Martha's blog that she went to a fashion show did she bring you any new spring fashions?
Oh I almost forgot did you watch the Dog Show last night? Did you see the Frenchie won his group! YES!! FRENCHIE'S RULE!!! Make sure you watch tonight.
Well I have to go check on Sophie and see if she needs anything.

Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I hope everyone had a happy Presidents Day. I hope you had a good weekend; mine started out great. I have walked in the snow while in Alaska and in the mountains of North Carolina but I never knew where it came from. Well, Friday afternoon this white stuff started falling from the sky. It looked as if the clouds were falling. I was so excited with it I just couldn’t contain myself. I would run out my door and down the back stairs into the yard and run around as fast as I could. I would then stop and let the stuff, called snow, settle on my back and head. I then would go inside and show mommy and daddy. I did this until I was exhausted and they had to close my door to keep me inside. It snowed about 6 inches before midnight. The next day, the stuff started to melt because the ground was about 45 degrees. What a mess it made and I kept getting my feet wet. I don’t think I like that part of the snow at all. It’s all gone now which makes me sort of sad. If you think GK is a paw full now, just wait a few more weeks and then try to keep up. Chow’s always want to explore everything.
Catch you later, Kirby.

Hello Ladies,
Glad to see that you both are helping guide Mr. Fluff Ball. It looks as though he is more into exploring than minding. Good thing Sanu finally took him inside so you girls could have your big sister time alone. My weekend started out with a trip to the vet's, but I am o.k. and they are keeping an eye on me. Just a big r & r day for Tasha and I. Mom has alot of errands she has to get caught up on she says. Have a great day all.
Love & licks,
Basil

Hi there GK: Looks to me like you are having the greatest time ever playing with Francesca and Sharkey. You are such a tease, making them look and watch over you. What fun!
Well, it snowed on the coast and on Saturday when momma and daddy got up, they looked out the patio door and it was 6-8 inches deep and momma said the pine trees were covered and their branches were bending down. They took me to my fenced-in back yard and I ran and ran and ran and I even ate snow. Momma threw some snowballs at daddy and me. It was really a lot of fun. I played and played and when I was tired, I went to the gate and they knew it was time to get back into the house. WoW! I wanted to keep the snow forever! Now it is all gone. Where does it go anyway? The kids made a snowman and an igloo in the vacant lot next door. How cool is that?
Well, it's time for a snack and a nap. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

Ghengis sure has learned to play hide and seek from the two of you very quickly. Pawful indeed! Zoe's right, you two do need a sitter for him when he gets to be too much.
Zoe, keep being a good sister to Sophie. Sounds like she's in good hands. Basil, glad you're doing OK.

Your heartfelt maternal instincts are showing, girlfriends! G.K. is lucky to have two older women to dogsit him, being such a pawful! Mom thinks you should teach him some manners in regard to Martha's farm, so that he doesn't end up trampling the tomatoes and mashing the berries (the poor pachysandra is a case in point). Why don't you harness him to your leash so that you can control him during your next farm foray? Better yet, save your sore paws and harness him to the Kawasaki (let him lead) and follow him the easy way! Yes!

wow, seeing G.K in Sanu's arms makes me realize how fast that pup is growing..Francesca and Sharkey beware, you sure do have your paws full!
mommie delia had to paint more panels for a Mounted Police Mural, she has done almost 200 and it should be complete soon, that's why she was late getting on the computor(like someone really would notice ha meeuw, ha meeuw) I jumped off her lap when the Dog wag barking came on, it scared me! We have to remember to shut off the sound tomorrow....

Hi Girl Friends, What a great job you two beautiful girls are doing taking care of your new little brother, GK. He seems to be learning a lot from you and even though he is rambunctious, he will remember everything you teach him. I know I certainly learned a lot from my wonderful big sister, Cricket. She knew just what to do to help me grow up to be a really good boy. Take care and keep doing the good things you do. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO

You might say that G.K. was stomping through the Pachysandra like a Pachyderm... but he's so much fluffier than a hippo or elephant could ever hope to be! (Can't help a little horticulture humor... I'm a big fan of binomial nomenclature.) I sure wish that I could have a whole herd of Chow Chow puppies... Loki and Lilith were so cute, just like G.K.! Oh and Franny, did you see who took non-sporting at Westminster? A brindle Frenchie! I would have liked to see a chow come in second, but at least it was another blue tongued dog (Shar-Pei.) Have fun in the snow, everyone... perfect Chow weather I say.
